jeez, most competitive powerlifters in that weight range can rep that, and most dont have much muscle mass either

Of course, he’s on the sauce ... and his bouncy-bounce technique (not uncommon in weightlifting circles) does its very specific thing.

what happened to "lift big to get big"?
This is more evidence to prove that size is dictated by genetics and not how much you lift
Take it easy guys and dont blow your joints, chances are its not going to work

Clarence was Ireland's guy for Olympic lifting for a few years till he got hurt, and moved on to other strength based things. He been training, and all the rest of it for years -

And goodbye vertebrae,twists spine to finish last rep.
Oh I get it,this is training for the clean&jerk,hence the deep squat.
These Olympic lifters are not my cup of tea. Strange sort.
I prefer this type of lifting.

Exactly. Size and strength have a tenuous relationship at best.

I should give this a try....or maybe not! I doubt I would ever get upright again. I work hard just to make parallel, except if I am doing body-weight squats. Bouncing seems like a bad idea. But when someone is this young, their bodies are more forgiving of the punishment we put ourselves through.

Amazing squats. Judging by the Olympic bar, bumper plates, lifting shoes and platform he's an Olympic lifter.

No, that guy is legit. He's a longtime Oly lifter and is strong as f*ck.

That last rep was nasty!
I'm surprised he does reps like the last one, you would think that's an injury waiting to happen.

Pretty ballsy going for that last rep without a spotter. Kind of stupid as well unless knows how to not fall forward but maintain posture and dump the bar.
And proof positive that moving big weights doesn't always transfer to big muscles. BBer's with quads twice his size can't squat like that.

I’ve seen a lot of pros and top amateurs squat 500 for around 6-10 reps, being short def has an advantage when it comes to squats

thats a crazy lift , he does this by sitting in class and have no job so he basically has a virgin back but is really pushing his limit
