A lot of it is age too.
Once you hit 50, your body just starts to sag and droop in places. It's worse for guys who "used to be" larger. as their skin is typically a bit looser.
Triple H used to be huge, saw him in person one time.

Seen juicers fall apart in the same year off juice. In the past guys actually went completely off drugs to give their body a rest. Now a guy will say he's off cycle and he's taking clomid, HCG and injecting testosterone in numbers a doctor would never prescribe for hormone replacement. Think of all the current champs. How would they really look truly three months clean? It wouldn't be a pretty picture.

dynamite kid turned into gollum. thought he was a naturally short and stocky guy without gear.

Paul (HHH) was always a very skinny kid in the gym before he got into WWF. (Decent build but lanky).
Went to the same Golds as him before he even got into Rasslin'. (Nashua Golds).
He is a gym-rat/workout fanantic though (and now that he's rich w/ the best HGH) he'll retain his muscle for a long time.
Married into the right family, didnt fall into the pain-killer life that so many do. He did things right. (For him at least).

Only adds that last 5%...1/4" on the biceps.

Just the finishing touch.

Triple H has some oddly shaped pectorals.

Just stay on, in the words of Demis Roussos,Forever and ever and ever and ever and ever and ever and ever and ever and ever and ever and ever and ever and ever and ever and ever

Pros are even worse. The only pro I know that has retained any type of size or shape since retiring is Paul Baker. Dude has been clean for a couple of years and still has more quality mass than most juice heads.
-
Lee Labrada and Vince Taylor have both been retired for years and still look great. Pretty sure both are 60+ and still use some steroids, but unlike most retired pros, they still look great.

They’re from the pre-gut era. Those guys have held up well. Bill Grant is another that comes to mind.

Meh, give Triple H three months, and he'd come back looking a lot more like the before than the after.
As mentioned the old guys that look the best now, are the ones that kept training and didn't chase scale weight.

Triple h was back in shape last time I saw him... Taking one pic from two different times doesn't mean anything.

Saw him several years ago at the San Gennaro Feast. He was doing an appearance with Bruno Sammartino, RIP. I’m 6’3”. HHH looked the same height and he was big, definitely on. Bruno looked great for a guy his age, I believe late 70s at the time, very slim. Apparently, he ran 4 miles a day. Made it to 83, amazing considering the life he led.

They juice and take pictures. I bet they they don't look good most of the year unless they are foolish enough to continue the drugs year round.

If people concentrated on being lean, flexible, and athletic, they can look great at 50+

For sure, if you don't push the limits and just stay in good shape year round, i think it's easily possible to look great at that age.

Paul was once 300lbs with abs at 5% bodyfat. He quit years ago. Still looks better than most in the gym.

Yeah people going to claim that he is still juicing... but the dude was in a coma in February (I believe) and spent a long time in the hospital. Then got out and covid hit and didn't even set foot into a gym until July (I believe)

Eat eggs.

Labrada looks very ripped year round. A couple of years ago he had a harder and granier look than he ever had as a competitor. This is seriously impressive. Yes there's the tren and GH, so what?
