good idea

Would use 2x ball bearing rollers for it. And a guiding tube for the cable over the weightstack.

How would a guiding tube work for something like this?

Powerlifter Marc 'Spud' Bartley did very well with these (sales) during the Rona (Spud Inc).

You can make the same thing out of Home-Depot stuff, but Im much too lazy these days. (Would just buy one of his if needed).

I saw someone months ago rig one up like the first one using strong mini-bands. The bands were anchored using nylon tie downs at the bottom and snap link / carabiner at the top. It was very smooth to use.

This guy gets stuff sent to him by the companies and he reviews them. He's gotten free racks, expensive plates, sets, etc.
He cant build muscle for shite, but i've seen him deadlift 500, etc.

Gayer than knowing stuff about a dude on youtube......lol..

All kidding aside, it's a great set up, and more power to that dude for being able to do all that.

My home depot exercise equipment is a 20/24/30 plyo box, stackable box squat boxes, pull sled, dip belt.  All in cost about 70 bucks, for equipment that would cost a bit over 200.

Yah, I'm into gyms, home gyms, equipment, etc so I watch this guy on occasion. (He owns a real gym (or training center) as well.
His personality fits me better than screaming, juiced up, phony IG drug addicts. ::)

But yes, very gay.   ;D

You can afford a power rack to anchor the pulley but not a home lat machine?  I can see some people attaching this with screws to a beam and having it rip out.

His setup is pretty awesome, and a 500lb pull is no joke.

Bearings are a must, but I would avoid tube, so you can adapt cable to go over one or 2 rollers and if necessary have one roller attached somewhere on the lower end in front of feet.  That also allows for movements like this:

You will definitely want something to anchor your feet also in order to have power pulling.

Why not stand up and do cable curls?

If you had a low back injury lying down would be better. also flat on the floor you cant use momentum and cheat

$20 is my final offer.

another variation, years back the great jcg hurt his biceps and could only do curls laying on a flat bench under a lat machine.

Anyone know the brands used on his bumper plates? Then we could get an accurate weight on the bar.

I got 445lbs if those bumper plates conform to the standards. No where near 500lbs for the deadlift.

Hard to tell - i have a set of 55 lb competition bumpers that look like 45s at certain angles.  Could easily be the case here.

I removed my post because while there is an olympic weightlifting competition standard for bumper plate colors I've run into different colors from different manufactures.  Red is always 55lbs in Olympic and blue is 45lbs. I own 55lbs bumpers that are black and I own 35lbs bumpers that are black so there is no standard in America.  No way to tell the weight by looking at it.

On a side note the Cuomo reporter from CNN is always putting out video of himself lifting. Looks like he was doing military presses with 225lbs but I bet a bet  I was deceived by the bumper plates he was using. It more likely a lot less weight than that. No way was he doing full range military presses with that weight.

My 55s are black as well.

Cuomo specializes in being full of shit, so wouldn't surprise me if he has the fat bumpers that are actually 25s.

He lifts mostly on Klokov Bumpers -

Nothing wrong with them, they followed the color code, they were beautifully designed bumpers, but the brand didn't survive.

The thin orange yellow bumper is a Fringe Sports Pizza novelty plate, they're 10lbs a piece -

Edit at 2:37, the black might be a Rogue #55, unless he swapped it in the jump cut, there's also a thin pair of 10lb irons -

4 x 25kg, 2 x 20kg, 2 x 15, 2 x 10kg, 4 x 10lbs + Bar = #504/505lbs.
