Pacman has those big calves from his style of not being flat footed I guess. Jumping around all day while hitting the bag must be the reason... along with some hgh

With all the rope jumping you'd think boxers would have huge calves but this is not the case.

Calf development is primarily genetic. There are women who never lift with better calves than most male bodybuilders

Some women develop great legs. Way better than men.
-
Genetic plays a big part in calves development. White people are more kind to have big calves even without working out.

And once again, racism in the form of DNA privilege rears it's hydra heads...

I have zero calves. My lower legs look like Tommy Hit man Hearns calves. I was a sprinter in high school and college. I have always trained calves in the gym. They are just like Bill Grant's calves. I have seen so many guys that never have ran a step or used a calf machine that have decent calves.

Exactly this, someone with decent calf genetics they will usually grow fine from just training legs with no direct calf work where others will torture them and still not grow

The punching power is coming from the feet. Having big calves may help into putting more weight into the punches

None of them have the calves of Dorian

Ali had god level stamina and quickness to his legs, even he didn't have much size.
His calves were around 17 inches I assume, definitely above average but nothing spectacular.

LOL! As opposed to your other massively developed body parts? Be honest, you have zero everything.

Also, strong feet muscles and calves help a boxer grip the canvas and steady or right himself after taking an opponent's punch, making himself harder to knock off-balance or down.
One reason is that boxer's calves might not seem impressive size-wise ,is because boxers (from a bodybuilding perspective) overtrain their legs with miles of running and rounds of skipping.

Distance running at a slow pace mainly trains the slow twitch fibers of the soleus. They don’t grow much but this helps in the ring as boxer do a lot of bouncing around with their knees bent. The aerobic base keeps you from blowing up.
