Pennsylvania's Department of State warned counties against giving "third-party entities" access to voting machines shortly after a key Republican lawmaker requested “information and materials” from three counties for a "forensic investigation" of the 2020 election and 2021 primary.

Complying with such a demand would lead the department, led by acting Secretary of State Veronica Degraffenreid, to decertify the equipment as they would be "considered no longer secure or reliable to use in subsequent elections," according to a directive dated Thursday.

In theory, if more forensic audits happen, and if they show no fraud, it will build confidence in the electoral system, which is vital.

We saw democrats losing their minds over it in 2016, and the pendulum has swung in 2020.

So, regardless of political affiliation, we have the perception of an election integrity problem.

That needs to be fixed.

Correct.  You would think if people are confident in the results that they would welcome an audit.

We aren't talking about "we", we are talking about "they".

Regardless of your personal beliefs, or how you look down on others, there's a large perception problem in the US with regards to the integrity of our election.

While there are always going to be those who doubt, more audits can change that perception with others who may have only recently felt that way.

Why would anyone welcome and audit from an unqualified company run by a Trumptard who promoted INSANE CT's

Furthermore, every week we see them doing more insane things that further undermines their non-existent credibility and even the Republicans in AZ who initially supported the "fraudit" now call it an embarrassment and make them look like idiots.

Cyber Ninjas.  Any company ran by a conspiracy theorists with no actual vote auditing experience would have been better.

---

In early March, a Boston-based vote-counting firm called Clear Ballot Group sent a bid to Arizona’s state Senate to audit the 2020 presidential election results in Maricopa County.

The firm has conducted more than 200 such audits over 13 years in business. “Our level of comparison data is unmatched,” Keir Holeman, a Clear Ballot Group vice president, wrote to the Republican-controlled Senate. He never heard back, he says.

Instead, the state Senate hired a small Florida-based cybersecurity firm known as Cyber Ninjas that had not placed a formal bid for the contract and had no experience with election audits. Senate President Karen Fann says she can’t recall how she found the firm, but her critics believe one credential stood out: Cyber Ninjas’ chief executive officer had tweeted support for conspiracy theories claiming Republican Donald Trump, and not Democrat Joe Biden, had won Maricopa County and Arizona.

I just glanced at their website.  I don't see anything overtly political on their site.  https://cyberninjas.com/  And the fact their CEO believes Trump won Maricopa County (assuming he actually said that) doesn't make the company "conspiracy theorists."

Biden won Maricopa County by about 45,000 votes out of over 2 million cast.  I doubt there were enough illegal votes cast to change that outcome, but I'm not going to dismiss an audit before I see the results and their methodology based on some purported Twitter post.

The head of the Florida-based firm chosen to conduct an election audit of Arizona's largest county was revealed as "Anon," of QAnon notoriety.

Cyber Ninjas CEO Doug Logan was confirmed as the voice behind "Anon" in the election conspiracy theory film The Deep Rig. Logan's ties to the far-right, baseless theories come after his firm was chosen by Arizona's GOP state lawmakers to conduct a review of the 2020 presidential election results on behalf of former President Donald Trump. The Deep Rig film is directed by a man whose previous movies included a documentary that claimed aliens masterminded the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks.

Numerous online conspiracy theorist websites and popular QAnon forums had previously speculated that Logan, who is now set to lead Arizona's self-audit, had deep ties to the "leadership" of the loose-knit group.

One of the three Pennsylvania counties asked to provide access to voting machines for a Republican lawmaker's probe of the 2020 election has decided it cannot comply due to a directive from the state's top election official, the county's solicitor told Reuters.

Tioga County's three Republican commissioners met on Tuesday and determined that acting Secretary of State Veronica Degraffenreid was within her authority in directing counties not to allow third parties to access their election equipment.

Since the Republican party appears to be split on these audits and other post election goings on, do you think that will hurt their chances of getting Republicans elected to office in the 2022 midterms and even more so 2024 General election?

Here is some:

Arizona audit reportedly found 'potentially thousands' of duplicated ballots without serial numbers
State Senate hearing sought to assess current findings of audit.
By Daniel Payne
Updated: July 16, 2021

Astate official in Arizona on Thursday said the state Senate's audit of Maricopa County's 2020 election results revealed "potentially thousands" of missing serial numbers on ballot copies that had been duplicated from damaged originals.

In the state Senate hearing on Thursday, Senate Liaison Ken Bennett described the process by which election workers duplicate a ballot. "If a ballot gets damaged and has to be sent to duplication, there is a very specific process in the [state] elections procedure manual," he said. That process involves applying matching serial numbers to both original and duplicated ballots.

"We found, I would have to say, thousands of duplicate ballots where those serial numbers are not on them," he said. "And so it has created great difficulty to try to match up a duplicated ballot to its duplicate."

Bennett said many serial numbers were applied with a "dot-matrix printer" atop border lines around the ballot, a mixup which "made for some very difficult matching of duplicated ballots and their duplicates."

"One of the most important things you need to do when you duplicate ballots is reflect the serial number on [the two ballots] so that you can do two main things," he said. "One, make sure you have one for every one of the other and two, make sure that you can look at the votes reflected on the duplicated ballot to make sure they reflected those correctly from the ballot that was damaged and was duplicated."

During his testimony, state Senate President Karen Fann asked Bennet: "If the corresponding numbers aren't on there, how would you know whether it was duplicated once or ten times?" To which Bennett responded: "You wouldn't."

The ongoing Maricopa audit is expected to continue for a few more weeks.

The ongoing Maricopa audit is expected to continue for a few more weeks.

https://justthenews.com/politics-policy/elections/arizona-audit-reportedly-found-potentially-thousands-duplicate-ballots

Another few weeks before the audit concludes, presumably with results reported accurately not long after that. I can hardly wait, (seriously). With all these delays, the audit begins to look suspicious. Some Republicans hope for results that prove fraud or widescale human error in the Maricopa County election process which they will use to justify audits in other battleground states.  Republicans instigated the audit and used donations and a small sum of money from their coffers to pay for it. If they don't get the results they hoped for, they may reject the audit altogether. This happens all the time in business, so why not in politics.

It makes no difference that overturning the election will not happen. All these audits need do is sow seeds of doubt, which Trump or whichever Republicans run for office in both 2022 and 2024 will heavily campaign on. Trump can continue to maintain that the election was stolen from him, therefore voters must give him back the office....kind of like a 'better late than never' reinstatement.

I think everyone should want to know whether there was fraud, mistakes, etc. and how we can prevent those issues from recurring.  That's why I think the audit is a good thing.

What's interesting is how Democrats are in a panic over this, when they pushed that phony Trump is a Russian Manchurian Candidate crap for his entire presidency.  They were concerned about "Russia hacking our election" in 2016, but created the "big lie" narrative in 2020 to shutdown any questions whatsoever about the election.

So what does anyone really think they are going to reverse the election results hell no it's just more investigations to waste more money kind of like the libs investigating the protest at the Capital. Can we stop wasting millions on pointless investigations????

It is a waste of money. Don't know about this audit, but the one in Arizona has supposedly, primarily been funded by individual donations to the Republican party and specifically Trump's campaign funds.

Correct.  You would think if people are confident in the results that they would welcome an audit.

As long as it is paid for with donations. I'm not excited to have my tax dollars fund these questionable audits.

What matters to me is methodology and results.  I'm not going to call anything "questionable" or accurate until I see what they come up with and how they got there.

Who, specifically, are the "hacks" you are referring to?

Clear Ballot Group, a company that has done 200 audits in the last 13 years sent a bid to do the Arizona audit. Keir Holeman, the company vice president, says he never heard back. Instead the little known group, Cyber Ninjas’ was hired to do the job. The Florida-based cybersecurity firm has existed in some form since at least 2014, this is the group's first ever election audit. Doug Logan is the Chief Executive. The address is 242 S Wa Blvd 160 Sarasota, FL 34236 United States, phone; 1-812-369-4120 reaches an answering machine or call 941-3-NINJAS (No matter which option you press 3,4 or 5 all you can do is leave a message for Doug Logan.
www.cyberninjas.com

Doug Logan has a very interesting resumé. https://www.businessinsider.com/doug-logan-cyber-ninjas-arizona-audit-election-conspiracy-theory-film-2021-6

Is Cyber Ninjas' a hack? -Don't know. The company is sure an interesting choice for an audit though.

A reasonable person like you might think the AZ audit is about "checking " for future elections.
In principle there is nothing wrong with that and I'm NOT panicked .

For our system to work, we need to declare a final result after the votes are counted and we have a recount ( in close calls).
Endless audits and candidates refusing to concede leads to constant chaos and unrest.

The peaceful transfer of power is a wonderful tradition here in America.

Now we got Jewish Space Lasers, Covid Assassination attempts, Sharpie markers that can change the direction of hurricanes, cancer causing wind mills, airports seized during the American Revolution, the invention of the word "caravan", fish tablets, Italygate, and "Q".  Exciting times to be a braindead Republican.

We were originally talking about conspiracies. These are accusations of wrong doing, whether proven or not. They are not conspiracies. Nobody conspired to have Russian women pee on Trump, or for Stormy Daniels to have and affair with him,  Granted, some of what I mentioned were also accusations. Anyone can make accusations. They may be true or not but proving them is another thing altogether.

Hope you enjoyed the show.

Maybe we will never know for sure what is bullshit and what isn't. Because, it is all a bunch of nonsense both sides on the political spectrum are using to raise money to continue the fiasco. Being a politician was once something that people who were genuinely civic minded aspired to do. IMO, that is long gone. As it stands, a lot of voters don't give a rat's ass about someone being experienced in the nuisances of politics because it doesn't interest them. As I have repeatedly said....the main focus of today's politicians from the top on down is to get elected and reelected. Moreover, the main thing each party wants is dominance. This is why almost nothing gets accomplished  and in the long run nothing changes. Neither party and most politicians are not concerned with what is good for the people they represent. Every one of us including you and I are being played. The main question is who is the better puppet master.

I've told you this before and I say it again now, I think your heart and mind are in the right place and you sincerely want the best for this country. I also think you are being manipulated by the wrong puppet master, primarily because he promised that he had something different to bring to the table.... none of which came to pass. Do you think another four years would have made a difference? I sincerely believe you and many others backed the wrong man in 2016....mainly because all of us had no decent choices. Unfortunately, I think the quality of those we elect to govern is only going to get worse. Why? Because who other than some egomaniac aspires to hold those positions.

Be honest. If you had the opportunity to run for a political office, would you? If you would then great, because people with as much passion as you have are what government needs most.

As of today, I have no regrets about my choice to vote for Biden. I am neither stupid nor do I hate this country. Insults and insinuations such as those tell me you are not as confident in your views as you pretend to be.

Trump's ridiculous tweets were not directed at me, so why would my feelings be hurt? Saying Trump isn't PC is an understatement IMO. Never-the-less why would his lack of PCness hurt my feelings?

I don't expect you to agree with anything on this list unless it directly affected you. But, this is just a smattering of proposals and policies that negatively affected Americans as a whole. Fortunately, Biden has overturned at least some of these.

1. Trump supported efforts in Congress to cut taxes on the wealthy that help fund the Affordable Care Act, or ACA.

2. Made it harder for veterans to find jobs with a federal hiring freeze.

3. Proposed dramatically slashing job training programs and worker wage and safety enforcement.

4. Undermined investor protection by making it harder for the Securities and Exchange Commission, or SEC, to hold Wall Street accountable.

5. Proposed funding cuts for programs that help support and encourage small business development.

6. Eliminated pollution standards for power plants and oil and gas facilities.

7. Proposed cutting EPA programs to clean up water sources.

8. Repealed anti-bribery rule to the delight of the oil industry

9. Proposed major cuts to the Department of the Interior’s budget that would impair critical maintenance of our national parks while making a public show of supporting them.

10. Moved to weaken air quality standards for ozone.

11. Stopped rules that would limit dumping toxins from power plants.

12. Imperiled American voters with untrue claims about illegal voting.

13. Promised to destroy the Johnson Amendment, which prevents nonprofit organizations—including houses of worship—from endorsing political candidates.

14. Proposed deep cuts to programs that help make college more accessible and affordable for low-income students and students of color.

15. Proposed completely eliminating federal funding for after-school programs.

16. Nominated the highly unqualified and anti-public school Betsy DeVos as secretary of education.

17. Rescinded the Obama administration’s regulations that supported school accountability under the new Every Student Succeeds Act.

18. Proposed cutting $9 billion from public education while spending $1.4 billion on school choice.

Just for laughs, read this lengthy interview Trump agreed to with Carol Leonnig and Philip Rucker for their book I Alone Can Fix It, https://www.vanityfair.com/news/2021/07/the-feverish-mind-of-trump-after-leaving-the-white-house This was two months after Trump moved to Mar-a-largo. Wonder if he's say anything different today. Somehow, I kind of doubt it. More like he's doubled down licking his wounds and blaming everyone but himself for his failures.

Lazy ass, find it yourself if you want to dispute this list. I say the list is accurate, if you say none of this or even some of it isn't true post proof of that.

Wait? You take the time to find the article, cut and paste and don’t post the link but you call me lazy? HHahahahahha

Come on Coach, why should I do all the work for you? I found out more than I would have ever imagined about his bad policies, thanks to you challenging me. I'm pretty sure you know I didn't just make up that list off the top of my head....that really would have been too much of an effort, even for me. Here's a hint, what I posted is just a small part of a list of 100 negative Trump proposals/policies in his first 100 days.

Anyway, if I did post the link, you'd dispute the source instead of the content. Prove he didn't make those proposals and we can talk about it. No matter who made the list, Trump either proposed these things or he did not. I say he did.

I decline your dare.  I have internet ADD.  What point are you trying to make with the lengthy interview?

Why do you think I am trying make a point. I just thought it was interesting and humorous. Did Carol Leonnig and Philip Rucker quote Trump? Seems like they did. If he didn't give that interview or say what they quote him as saying, he could and probably would sue them. No doubt there is much more in their book, 'I Alone Can Fix It: Donald J. Trump's Catastrophic Final Year' considering it is almost 600 pages long.

It is not like it was written by Vanity Fair. The magazine published an excerpt from the book 'I Alone Can Fix It: Donald J. Trump's Catastrophic Final Year' by Carol Leonnig, Philip Rucker. It is currently a #1 best seller. $28. in paperback.

Because there is a point to everything you post.  Unless you're trolling.

You're a reasonable , analytical man, BUT, we know what the real hype is.

Fact is , most hardcore Trumpers helping to fund this AZ audit deal, don't think Trump lost.
BOTH sides us hot button issue political stunts to get their base ginned up.
Then comes the fund raiser email blast to make $$ and complete the grift.

The recent Texas state dem legislators flying to DC comes to mind as well.

They can "say" it's about going to congress, but we KNOW it's a political stunt, like the AZ audit.

YES!  ;)  It's called political spin, and they all do it.

This is why I'm more into watching sports , then politics.

After every major debate, they media gets comments from the "spin room".
There, every team declares victory for their candidate.  ::)

In sports, when the game ends, the scoreboard determines  the winner.
