I'm one of those Florida parents and you are quite INCORRECT. DeSantis isn't gambling with our kids' future. He's making sure that the power to make crucial decisions for Florida's kids REMAINS in the hands of FLORIDA PARENTS, not power-hungry socialist Democrat mayors and teachers' unions, where it belongs.

The same folks who couldn't make up their minds whether masks actually work or not NOW want to force everyone to wear one...or else.....can pound sand.

In New York City, authorities were very slow to close schools and this was the result. This whole thing is a fraud, a pretext for currency devaluation and a transfer of wealth to the international medical establishment.

Hope this helps.

And that's PRECISELY why all these media goofs have DeSantis in the crosshairs. Of course, the ones from the northeast aren't all that thrilled seeing those businesses move down here, either. How many bodybuilding shows have been moved here because of all the blue-state lockdowns? The NY Pro, Chicago Pro, and the Olympia, are among those that are either here or some other southern state.

Big mistake for DeSantis politically. This will doom him in the Midwest. As I have said elsewhere, he has a good chance of being the next President if he plays his cards right, because of the problematic issue of who the Democratic nominee will be (Biden at near age 80, Harris who is fading fast, who else?) But he is playing it all wrong and time is moving fast. What is he thinking??? And there are NO other viable Republicans besides him, at least at this stage of the game.

You ever been to South Florida in the summer? It doesn’t get lower than the 80s at night. There’s always a bump in heat related illnesses and these people all get tested and are more likely to come up positive.

Same drill in Louisiana.

Don’t kid yourself. Even within Florida his margins have been extremely close and they will be much closer in the nation at large. He and Gillum were only a few votes apart for Governor and it will be equally close against Crist next time round, although I give DeSantis the edge on that one. He will have a problem elsewhere in the US with these stances repeated on TV at election time. Now is already where the rubber meets the road.

Seasonal CLI/ILI wave, hit the same time last year. But now you have ILI's and RSV (which hits the 0-4 age group hardest) back circulating.

Florida and the rest of the South, Texas included, are peaking and will (in my opinion) start to plateau and decline shortly. Florida's Rt is trending down for the last several days and is heading back to 1.0 and then below.

Well, you have a point. I am scared of him and want to see him lose (I especially think he could beat Kamala Harris). He is the strongest candidate the Republicans have, I see no others at this point. But it’s absurd to think that DeSantis would listen to my advice and be steered wrong. Here is what I think: he is playing to his base and he does not need to. He already has them. He needs to MOVE CENTER to have any chance of being president in a couple of years. I predicted the same thing about Biden three years ago, when all the Democrats thought it would be leftist Warren or Sanders. Look who came out on top despite the media and pundits. CENTER is where it is at.

DeSantis beat Gillum hands down, despite the money and celebrities Gillum had behind him. The race only "tightened" when Palm Beach and Broward counties magically found enough votes.....LONG AFTER THE POLLS CLOSED.....to force a recount.

The same thing happened in the Senate race between Rick Scott and Bill Nelson. Same two counties with their "irregularities", thousands of "Oh, look what we found" votes......VIRTUALLY ALL FOR NELSON. Rick Scott won by the skin of his teeth. his 60000-vote lead got whittle to just over 10,000.

Sound familiar?

DeSantis got smart and gave those two election supervisors the heave-ho. So, hopefully, we won't have any of that foolishness happen again.

The biggest threat to Democrats right now is DeSantis.  When he fully opened his state it forced the blue states to follow that wanted to remain restricted.

If you get your information from the Democrat complicit press like CBS, NBC, ABC, Washington Post, NY Times, CNN and the rest you are getting biased manipulated information.  I don't believe the stats coming from the Democrats reference Florida. The only stat that matters is death and it's low.

They have to destroy DeSantis, that's why Biden is reading negative things about him off his teleprompter.  Restrictions and masks are coming back because Democrats have to say it's too dangerous to vote in person so they can pull fraudulent elections again with mail in ballots. Right now even with biased polls Democrats know they are in trouble. Crank up the mail in votes and the counting computer for mail in ballots again.

People are fleeing these blue states because of the destruction of Democrats.

He is a definite threat but my point is he may be blowing it as we speak. Here is Fox News explaining how he is strengthening his status with GOP voters. But he does NOT NEED GOP voters, he has them already. He needs CENTRIST VOTERS. The only thing that may save him is both COVID and the news cycle are so cyclical. California was in a world of hurt COVID wise and then BOOM they were fine. Same thing can happen in Florida and memories are short. But my advice to him still stands.

DeSantis is an empty husk—literally. He has no positions, opinions or thoughts. He goes where the wind blows. In that sense he’s both better and worse than Trump.

The sad thing is that none of these politicians will ever be held accountable, and whatever happens he’ll claim credit for anything good and deflect criticism for anything bad.

It’s pathetic really, how far we’ve come. From Washington, Jefferson, Hamilton and Lincoln to Trump, Biden, Graham, Harris, McConnell, Schumer, DeSantis, Ocasio-Cortez and Taylor Greene.

TESTIFY!!!  ;D

Not to mention, the excuse for the indefinite lockdowns was there'd be no vaccines for at least 2-3 years. Once President Trump did "Operation Warp Speed" and the vaccines were available in late 2020, that trope went ka-blooey!!!

DeSantis nearly got screwed in 2018. He beat Andrew Gillum decisively to become governor. Then magically, the two MOST NOTORIOUS voter-fraud counties in the Sunshine State (Broward and Palm Beach) magically came up with some post-poll-closing votes to narrow DeSantis' lead to the point where we needed a recount.

Rick Scott saw his 60,000-vote lead get whittled to barely 12,000, thanks to this foolishness. And thanks to hand recounts for nearly two weeks, Scott BARELY held on to less than 10,000-vote lead to beat the seemingly invincible long-time FL Senator, Bill Nelson.

One local politician really got screwed; he won on election night. But thanks to those counties' shenanigans, they dredged up enough vote for him to end up losing to Nikki Fried, who ended up being FL's agricultural commissioner.

Now, she wants to take on DeSantis in 2022. And you can bet she'll be for shutdowns; so that she (or whoever DeSantis' challenger is) can scrounge up enough late post-election votes to steal DeSantis' job.

Yes, two times potentially. Governor of Florida in 2022 and then President in 2024. He has not announced for President and he will most likely want to be re-elected Governor. If he were to lose the Governor race, it would not bode well for his presidential run. Trump will support him in both elections. Trump likes him and does not especially like the others who might run for President (specifically Pence or Rubio or any of the RINOS that may run). He likes Cruz and Josh Hawley but neither of them could be elected dog catcher and Trump knows it. DeSantis’ latest COVID antics put him at risk even in the Florida governor race but I would guess he can pull it off in the end. Florida is RED RED in my view.

I'm no lawyer, but local boards may have the final word on this.
For example, I know it's up to each district to close school for bad weather.

I wouldn’t trust anything the national media says about Florida, desantis is a huge threat and they know it they try to dirty his name at every turn. I was there a few weeks ago in Orlando going to the parks you wouldn’t even know there’s a pandemic there if it wasn’t in the news everyday no masks anywhere, long lines including inside, and surprising nobody even coughing. Only place I saw a mask was at the airport and it’s the only airport I’ve actually seen free vaccines if u want one. I’ve been in the other airports supposibly doing that to but I haven’t seen it with my eyes maybe I was just in the wrong terminal Orlando I saw it arriving and leaving a separate room there offering free tests and vaccines

Our schools weren't closed....completely. But, parents had to make a choice whether to use virtual school, regular brick-and-mortar school, or a combination of the two.

Last year, the private school which my kids attended opened 3 weeks late, because of all of the confusion from this virus mess. In the end, the whole school went "cottage" That is, kids attended class twice a week and the parents homeschool their respective children the rest of the time.

Now, it's full steam ahead. The teachers are honoring the wishes of the parents. If they want their kids masked, their kids will remained masked. But, it's not mandatory. Last year, kids had to wear masks in the hallway, in chapel, and at other large assemblies. But, in class, masks were optional. But classes were smaller last year. My son's class had only seven kids (including him).

Local school districts should make the decisions for their schools, not Republican governors who theoretically believe in decentralized control. But you are correct that the cruise ship thing is absurd.

I live in Florida and disagree with DeSantis's decision... I know I'm about to get flamed like crazy.... But here is what confuses me.... I thought a Republican stance kept big government out of decisions as much as possible and would push things down to the local level?  Why not let the school district decide?  Is it only when it's convenient for them that this mentality applies?

I think DeSantis will win the next election (he won't get my vote... Although I'm not sure who will)... I don't think it will be a landslide as there is still a big liberal community here in Florida that is pissed off by what he is doing, but it won't be enough to cost him the vote.  He is a smart guy and is playing his cards right with his base and they are eating it up and loving him for it.

I will add this, sadly, two weeks after schools started I went to pick up some food and I passed a children's clinic and the line outside was over a block long... I had been to that same clinic a few times and I've never seen it anywhere close to this. It was shocking and heartbreaking.

I think of it as a conservative stance rather than a Republican one.  Republican politicians do whatever they think will get them re-elected, same as Democratic ones.

In New York City, authorities were very slow to close schools and this was the result. This whole thing is a fraud, a pretext for currency devaluation and a transfer of wealth to the international medical establishment.

Hope this helps.

Stop posting real world clinical outcomes. Healthy kids need a dose of fucboi experimental, low efficacy compound.

Twitchy readers know Gov. Ron DeSantis is a rockstar in conservative circles, and it looks like he’s made another big move in the illegal immigration debate. According to FOXnews.com, he sent 2 planes of illegal immigrants to … **insert drumroll** MARTHA’S VINEYARD!

That is basically Obama’s backyard.

Why is DeSantis cruel for gifting illegal immigrants a free plane ride to a Sanctuary City that wants to WELCOME them and how is it human trafficking, when they go freely? We can’t figure that out. Don’t get us wrong, we aren’t saying that someone can’t have that opinion, we are just saying that the opinion is wrong. 🙂

I don't think it's mean spirited at all. If these politicians aren't going to do anything about these illegals coming into the country then they can also take care of them on their state's dime. Borders and sovereignty are for good reason and we have a system in place for people to migrate here legally. We can't have a shit show fun for all where everyone goes where they want whenever they want. That's not practical or safe.

While I do feel for these people, we can't continue  tax our already over burdened system and encourage others to follow.

You asked for it! Wealthy Martha's Vineyard residents face pressure to welcome migrants into their multi-million dollar homes after proudly displaying signs saying 'we stand with immigrants.

You asked for it! Wealthy Martha's Vineyard residents face pressure to welcome migrants into their multi-million dollar homes after proudly displaying signs saying 'we stand with immigrants... all are welcome here'

Conservatives are finding mirth in Florida's migrant airlift to Martha's Vineyard on Wednesday evening Florida Gov. DeSantis sent about 50 migrants to the wealthy island enclave aboard a chartered aircraft

Many on the island have long displayed signs proclaiming 'all are welcome here' - including immigrants Now DeSantis supporters joke that those signs will be quickly torn down by local residents But officials on they island say they are giving support and shelter to the group in the wake of their arrival

Conservatives have joked that Martha's Vineyard residents will be tearing down woke yard signs proclaiming that refugees and migrants are welcome after Ron DeSantis flew 50 of them to the wealthy island.

'Whole lotta Martha's Vineyard residents about to take down the 'all are welcome here' lawn signs sitting in front of their mansions,' joked Andrew Wagner, a GOP operative in Minnesota, in a tweet.

He was referring to a poster created by the Island's Hebrew community center, and subsequently adopted by many local homeowners and businesses.

It lists support for black people, the LGBTQ community, migrants, refugees, indigenous people and adds: 'All are welcome here.' Other, more generic, versions of the same sign have also popped-up in backyards across the US in recent years.

Many Americans are now keeping an eye on Martha's Vineyard businesses and homeowners to see just how well they'll treat the new arrivals.

Florida Will Send Migrants to 'Greener Pastures' in Sanctuary Cities
Newsweek ^ | 9/15/22 59 min ago 15:01 PM EDT
Posted on 9/15/2022, 4:03:37 PM

Florida Senator Ron DeSantis had a strong message for migrants seeking to enter the country.

"We are not a sanctuary state," he said during a press event Thursday. "And its better to be able to go to a sanctuary jurisdiction."

This comes after the governor sent about 50 migrants on planes to Martha's Vineyard Wednesday.

"And yes, we will help facilitate that transport for you to be able to go to greener pastures," he said, speaking to potential migrants thinking of coming to Florida.

The Republican governor also called on President Joe Biden to "do his damn job and secure the border."

DeSantis called out Democratic leaders who boasted about being sanctuary cities under the Trump administration.

"The minute even a small fraction of what those border towns deal with every day is brought to their front door they all of a sudden go berserk and they're so upset this is happening," he said. "It just shows you their virtue signaling is a fraud."

He said Democrats are supporting "indefensible" immigration policies under the Biden administration.

"It is not defensible for a superpower to not have any control the territory of its country," he said.

DeSantis said Biden inherited a better border situation and has now brought upon an immigration crisis.

Here is the problem: it really is not a state to state issue or a city to city issue, it is a NATIONAL issue that we need to sit down and figure out what to do about. Maybe you could argue that political grandstanding brings attention to the issue (and points out hypocrisy, and I agree there is hypocrisy) but it’s not like we don’t know already that this is a problem and the grandstanding really only plays to the people who already have their pitchforks out (see the comments above) and makes a lot of the rest of us mad. I was just on a road trip with my best friend who is from Texas and supports Governor Abbot on this and we got into a “sort of” friendly shouting match while driving. Why are all the people of New York, Chicago, Martha’s Vineyard suddenly responsible for this? What are we trying to do? Start a regional type Civil War, north against south style. Stupid! And a real way to turn off a lot of people who would like to hear some well thought out legislative and administrative steps to getting this solved (e.g., streamlined legal immigration, more border agents and ICE, better computerization to track visa overstays, etc., etc).

I agree that Democrats have more or less lost their way on this issue and are basically deer in headlights. But my reaction is that the antics of Governors Abbott and DeSantis are not helping and simply pushing both sides into respective “you are an idiot” “you are mean and extreme” corners (see the anger above).

FALSE.  it is the liberal progressive freaks in NYC, MASS, DC who push these open borders policies that impact Texas and border states the worst.   So while liberal nuts can preen and preach how virtuous they are, until now they have not had to deal with the impacts on the policies they force on others.

BidenFAIL and Mayorcas and Harris are to blame for this and its great to see their failed policies finally hitting home in Obama's backyard.

Biden outraged as Texas, Florida governors displace migrants across country
France24 ^ | September 16, 2022
Posted on 9/16/2022, 8:50:55 AM

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis took credit Thursday for sending two planeloads of undocumented Venezuelans from Texas to wealthy Martha's Vineyard, Massachusetts, as Republicans play up immigration issues before November midterm elections.

President Joe Biden slammed the moves as Republicans "playing politics with human beings."

"What they're doing is simply wrong," said Biden at a Congressional Hispanic Caucus event Thursday evening. "It's un-American. It's reckless."

Christina Pushaw, a spokesperson for DeSantis, taunted the Martha's Vineyard community, which announced efforts to house and feed the migrants.

"Residents of Martha's Vineyard overwhelmingly support illegal immigration and call for more diversity. Governor DeSantis was kind enough to grant their wishes," she wrote on Twitter.

"There may be space at the Obamas' mansion for a few dozen illegal aliens," she said.

It's Working! Ron DeSantis sent migrants to Martha's Vineyard, the Biden admin is trying to send them back to Mexico and Panama

Since yesterday afternoon the arrival of about 50 migrants, mostly of them originally from Venezuela, in Martha’s Vineyard has been one of the biggest stories in the country. The sentiment on the left has been entirely predictable. DeSantis has been vilified for “flinging” these poor migrants at one of the nicest resorts in the United States.

Deeply deeply sick and dehumanizing to fling human beings somewhere vindictively.

— Chris Hayes (@chrislhayes) September 15, 2022

Some on the left are suggesting the Gov. may have committed a crime.

The Department of Justice needs to investigate Governor DeSantis for using fraud and deception to lure people out of state only to abandon them without fulfilling his false promises. Same for Greg Abbott.

They’re engaging in human trafficking. https://t.co/5kX26LBuQf

— Joaquin Castro (@JoaquinCastrotx) September 15, 2022

Others have praised the residents of the Vineyard for their Christian response.

The hurling migrants at liberal cities and towns thing is narrowly funny in a meta way only because it’s premised on the assumption that everyone is as xenophobic and cold hearted as the governors and officials doing the hurling, and I don’t think they’ve once been proven right

— Asawin Suebsaeng (@swin24) September 15, 2022

MAGA world seems less angry about immigration and more pissed that DeSantis's expensive and hateful stunt of sending people to an off-season island didn't own the libs, who instead did the Christian thing and took in the strangers and made sure they had food and shelter.

— Tom Nichols (@RadioFreeTom) September 15, 2022

As you can see, it’s not just a few individuals. Each of these tweets has thousands of likes. There was a particularly vivid version of this take published at the Bulwark earlier today.

Let’s put aside the theology of immigration. Let’s pretend, just for a moment, that Jesus would have nothing to say about whether or not the state should seek to discourage undocumented migrants as a high-level matter of government policy.

Those planes were filled with actual human beings. People with dignity. People with hopes and dreams, problems and challenges. People with names and families.

And this Christian man used them as props. He didn’t clothe the naked or feed the hungry. He literally did the opposite: Evicted them—and not because he felt that he had to, because it was a requirement of the law. But because he saw that he could use them as a means to the ends of his personal ambition.

In the midst of all of this vocal moralizing about the treatment of migrants, another story that was published yesterday afternoon has been almost completely overlooked.

As border crossings have soared to record highs, U.S. President Joe Biden’s administration is quietly pressing Mexico to accept more migrants from Cuba, Nicaragua and Venezuela under a COVID-19 expulsion order that the White House has publicly sought to end, seven U.S. and three Mexican officials said.

U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken raised concerns about an escalating number of crossings by migrants from the three countries during a visit on Monday to Mexico City, two U.S. and two Mexican officials told Reuters, but Mexico did not promise any specific actions…

The U.S. effort to pressure Mexico on these three particular nationalities illustrates the depth of concern within the Biden’s Democratic administration about their border crossings. Most migrants from Cuba, Nicaragua and Venezuela who cross into the United States are allowed to stay to pursue asylum claims, since they are difficult to deport due to frosty diplomatic relations with their governments…

Biden officials are also exploring ways to push responsibility to other nations beyond Mexico, sources said.

For example, the White House wants Panama to accept deported Venezuelans if they passed through the Central American nation en route to the United States, two of the U.S. officials said.

So the Biden administration is publicly in favor of ending Title 42 expulsions but privately they are begging Mexico to accept some of the Cuban, Nicaraguan and Venezuelan migrants because they now make up about 25% of the migrants showing up at the border. They are also hoping to send the Venezuelans back to Panama. The story ends by noting that the Biden administration had been flying migrants to the Dominican Republic. This story is from Feb. of this year.

President Joe Biden’s administration has been deporting Venezuelans by way of a third country despite condemning former President Donald Trump for doing the same.

In the midst of the tight 2020 presidential race, Biden blasted Trump for using what Biden said were “stealth deportations” through third countries to send Venezuelans “back to the oppressive Maduro regime.”

Trump had used Trinidad and Tobago, also in the Caribbean, to deport Venezuelans, a practice revealed by Noticias Telemundo Investiga in March 2020. In that fiscal year, ICE deported 193 Venezuelans through third countries.

From Oct. 1, 2020, to Sept. 31, 2021 — eight months of which fell under the Biden administration — ICE deported 176 Venezuelans, agency data obtained by Noticias Telemundo Investiga showed.

The practice has apparently been ended since then but I’m guessing most people expressing deep concern about the morality of flying Venezuelan migrants to Martha’s Vineyard aren’t aware that the Biden administration had been flying them to the Dominican Republic, or that it is currently pressuring Panama and Mexico to take them back.

And let’s not pretend that the Biden administration’s motives are anything less than political. The border crisis is a concern for them and they are doing what they can, quietly, to make it go away. If that means “flinging” migrants to some other country rather than clothing them, feeding them and taking them in here, they are more than eager to do that. Just something to keep in mind at the media runs wild over Gov. DeSantis’ lack of Christian morality.

Charlie Crist will not get votes of any significance in Florida. Too timid of a person that does not stand out from others for what he has done in his political career. He is sort of doomed to begin with for the next Governor election

Migrants flown to Martha's Vineyard by Florida governor say they were misled

(Reuters) - Some migrants who were flown to the wealthy island of Martha's Vineyard, Massachusetts, said on Thursday they were duped about their destination, and Democratic leaders called for a probe of the move by Florida's Republican governor to send them there from Texas.

One Venezuelan migrant who arrived at Martha's Vineyard identified himself as Luis, 27, and said he and nine relatives were promised a flight to Massachusetts, along with shelter, support for 90 days, help with work permits and English lessons. He said they were surprised when their flight landed on an island.

He said the promises came from a woman who gave her name as "Perla" who approached his family on the street outside a San Antonio shelter after they crossed from Mexico and U.S. border authorities released them with an immigration court date.

He said the woman, who also put them up in a hotel, did not provide a last name or any affiliation, but asked them to sign a liability waiver.

"We are scared," he said, adding he and others felt they were lied to. "I hope they give us help."

...Florida lawmakers put money in the state budget this year for DeSantis to transport undocumented immigrants.

“There’s also going to be buses, and there will likely be more flights,” DeSantis said Friday afternoon during an appearance at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona Beach. “But I’ll tell you this, the Legislature gave me $12 million. We’re going to spend every penny of that to make sure that we’re protecting the people of the state of Florida.”

Ron DeSantis: Hypocritical Rich Elites Shipped Migrants Away ‘Within 48 Hours’
Breitbart ^ | 16 Sep 2022 | HANNAH BLEAU
Posted on 9/16/2022, 11:37:39 PM by E. Pluribus Unum

Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) said he is perplexed to see President Biden scrambling to get his Cabinet together due to migrants being sent to a “wealthy, rich sanctuary enclave,” highlighting the hypocrisy of the elites who already shipped the migrants, who they claim to care about, away “within 48 hours.”

The far left experienced a collective freakout on Wednesday after learning that the DeSantis administration had sent dozens of migrants to the Obamas’ favorite vacation spot, Martha’s Vineyard — a proposal he floated over six months ago. The pearl-clutching reaction from those who champion sanctuary policies made national headlines — arguably more than other issues related to the border, from fentanyl overdoses to the impact of illegal alien crime on small communities.

DeSantis said he was “a little bit perplexed” to hear that President Biden is “scrambling to get his Cabinet together to try to address the fact that you have governors who are helping to relocate illegal aliens to sanctuary cities.” Oddly, DeSantis continued, Biden has not shown such urgency for other issues.

Biden did not “scramble” to get his Cabinet together, the governor said, “when we had millions of people illegally pouring across the southern border,” adding:

The meltdown over the 50 illegals flown to Martha’s Vineyard is fun to watch.

On Wednesday, Republican Florida Governor Ron DeSantis sent two planes carrying illegal immigrants to the island of Martha’s Vineyard.

The racist white limousine liberals on Martha’s Vineyard are not happy about their new poor, brown neighbors.

Martha’s Vineyard Homeless Shelter Coordinator Lisa Belcastro melted down over the 50 illegals during an interview with the Cape Cod Times.

“The difficult challenges are — we have to, at some point in time they [illegals] have to move from here to somewhere else – we cannot, we don’t have the services to take care of 50 immigrants and we certainly don’t have housing. We’re in a housing crisis as we are on this island! We can’t house everyone here that lives here and works here!”

She continued, “We don’t have housing for 50 more people.”

DeSantis slaps down Democratic Texas sheriff for opening CRIMINAL case into Martha's Vineyard migrant flights - and points out hypocrisy that there was less outrage when dozens died inside tractor-trailer in his jurisdiction

Ron DeSantis has furiously slapped down a Texas sheriff who launched a criminal investigation into his flying 50 Venezuelan migrants to Martha's Vineyard.

The Florida governor pointed out the hypocrisy of Democratic Bexar County Sheriff Javier Salazar for probing him when it was in his jurisdiction where 50 migrants died in a trailer-tractor over the summer.

He challenged fellow politicians and voters to find similar levels of outrage at that shocking incident - as well as huge numbers of migrants drowning in the Rio Grande - as what he has been facing for his stunt.

Biden on reports DeSantis sending migrants to Delaware: ‘He should come visit’

President Biden on Tuesday responded to reports that Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) was possibly sending migrants from Texas to Delaware by quipping that the governor ought to stop by himself.

“He should come visit. We have a beautiful shoreline,” Biden told reporters.

The White House said earlier on Tuesday that the administration is coordinating with state officials and local service providers in Delaware to ensure they are prepared to welcome migrant families upon their arrival.

Biden noted differences between his and the previous administration’s strategy along the southern border in defending his policies.

Newsom is ambitious and has nothing to lose.  If DeSantis declines, Newsom and Democrats will call him a coward.  He’s going to cruise to reelection this fall and brag about his Progressive and green energy policies.

Even if he doesn’t run (Biden has to first make it clear that he’s not running in 2024), the Democrats would love any “wound” they can inflict on DeSantis to sway independent voters.

I’m ignorant: is there precedent of a sitting governor with presidential ambitions attacking another governor years before a presidential election?
