I saw Johnny and Ben White both do over twenty reps on the bench with three fifteen in Rochester N.Y. one year.

HE wasn't the best on stage but the guy obviously loves to lift and looks to still be going hard.  It's interesting how much better than Ronnie he's doing .. He wasn't lifting the same weights as Ronnie but still lifted/lifts heavy and had a smaller frame with which to bear the weight.

Great stuff, thanks for posting

Not sure the purpose of him staying that jacked...does he even compete anymore.

Seems like dexter is actually smarter, down sized in his 50’s while Johnnie is still using a lot more than trt,

Easily a couple of grams. Pure stupidity.

He still does promotional work for GASP. So, my guess is that's part of the reason. Plus he occasionally still does powerlifting.

Plus, if he shrank, folks would be complaining how small he is, much as we hear about Dexter Jackson.

Again, make up your mind.

If Jackson shrinks, you complain about how puny he is and he was "all drugs".

If he stays at or near the same size, you then claim he's stupid for staying big despite his no longer competing.

Exactly how big is Jackson supposed to be or how much in anabolics is he supposed to use in retirement?

Personally I'd like to see him compared to how he looked 20 years ago in his rookie year as a pro (2002).

You're welcome. Jackson was certainly ONE of the best. Multiple pro show wins and multiple top-10 Olympia placings make him a Hall of Famer to me. I've seen guys with far worse resumes inducted in the IFBB Hall of Fame.

Johnny had a small tumor on his left lung. From around 2015, if I recall correctly. I believe he was scheduled to have it surgically removed.

Does anyone know what happened with that?

I always said he was Mr. Olympia, from the waist up. Maybe he should go to Kuwait and get the Brandon Curry makeover. Who knows? He could take the Sandow.

Johnny is stronger and has a longer reach. Probably has more stamina, but hard to say.

Both are very strong. Branch seems pretty tough too, but ultimately, they are bodybuilders, not fighters.

You’re right, that came out a little harsher than I wanted.  He’s notable for lifting heavy and looking as good as he does.  From a bodybuilding standpoint you can nitpick and say his chest, shoulders & back overpower his arms & legs.  His structure is better than I remembered and he looks cool in a tank top .. the most important test ;D

Funny you say that, I’ve seen them both train for years and upper body chest, shoulder movements branch is stronger, branch is also stronger when comes to squats, doing more reps

Johnny is more about the low reps and just getting the weights up

I think he made a mistake training legs with Branch Warren. Branch's best bodypart is his legs. He could train them anyway he wanted and they'd grow. So he trained them the same way he trained his upper body. Ballistic all out training. I think Johnny should have realized that didn't work for his lower half and train those legs differently. He would have been top 5 in the world if he could have gotten those legs to respond...

That's why I said he's Mr. Olympia from the waist up. Curry was similar.

Curry went to Kuwait, got those legs up to par (and make his back even BIGGER), and won the O. Maybe Jackson should join the Camel Crew.

Fast reps but all strict.

In another thread recently about 'what would you do differently if you were starting again' I commented that I wish I'd tried the partial, 'pumping' style reps.  I was always a form Nazi, so if I couldn't pull or push the thing properly I judged myself as failing

But with the internet and seeing how many of the bigger guys use that style I wish at some point I'd been less strict with myself.  I mean, I suppose I could try that style now for a while, but I mean way back when I was doing cycles... I might have blown up more - or not I suppose...

Oh well - no regrets - and Mr JOJ looks good for around my age - let's hope he's healthy

Dude I am the exact same way.....always in control, and always a complete full range of motion.

On lots of exerises, when I can no longer do a full rep I then do partials or a drop-set to extend the set........today everyone does parsh partials.

He seems to be just as strong, as he was back in 2015. I think he still dabbles in powerlifting.

And now he's supposedly competing in the Masters Mr. Olympia. I thought that died 10 years ago after Dexter Jackson won it.
