Good God. It's between $5.08 and $5.34 USD here.
There are three Native American gas bars on the Indigenous reserve where you can get it for cheaper - the lowest being $4.15 USD. If American prices are that high, it does not bode well for prices in Canada.

Matt we are talking gallons not liters.

Yes, I know. I convert all my posts to US dollars, gallons, and °F, out of respect for the larger number of American Getbiggers here. 😂
Here's the price per litre in Canadian dollars at a Shell station near me - $1.699 CAD per litre, which is $5.08 USD per gallon. :)

Gas price in The Netherlands is above 9 US dollars per US gallon:

Americans always complain about gas prices yet continue to buy gas guzzlers.
Buy a diesel or a 4 cylinder (turbocharged) engine. Or a hybrid or whatever and stop nagging about energy prices!

im seeing these stuck all over town, hilarious

That should be some strong evidence that all the "free" social services in Europe and Australia/Canada come with massive hidden costs.
On that note...doesn't Norway have a huge oil drilling industry? Does anyone know what Norwegians pay? I'm curious if they are dealing with such exorbitant prices as over $9 USD per gallon. ???
-
Almost 5 bucks a gallon here in Canuckistan. Pretty sad considering the amount of resources sitting in the ground in AB.
-
Our highest 98 octane is US91.
1 gallon would be US5.59 right now for your US91.
From memory I was planning for what equates to US7/gallon during 2022
This was oil back before GFC which went from $60 to $147 in 15 months.
We have gone from $38 to $112 in 16 months. Now war so it’s pretty clear energy prices will crush us. I’m not sure how Biden plans to fix prices? Apparently that is exactly what he plans to do.
-
^ I totally forgot about the higher octane grade fuels.
The $5.08 USD per gallon price is for the cheapest stuff.
My guess is that the most expensive place to buy the highest octane probably has it for $6 USD right now.
I run the high octane stuff here and there, but my mechanic back in 2002 told me there isn't much reason to do so. I didn't really think much about it since then, but run it from time to time.
Maybe diesel really is the way to go.
-
It will probably get worse.

Infrastructure in The Netherlands is one of the best in the world, top 3 stuff.
Someone has to pay for that. And one of the lowest deaths per mile, deaths per car whatever in the world.
statista.com/statistics/264753/ranking-of-countries-according-to-the-general-quality-of-infrastructure/ (http://statista.com/statistics/264753/ranking-of-countries-according-to-the-general-quality-of-infrastructure/)
Taxes spent on infrastructure are worth it imo.

Biden could get a deal with the crazy ayatollahs and iran could bring 1 million barrels per day to the international oil market = lower oil prices, as is happening today

Supply and demand.
Your country probably buys less oil than Rhode Island. The states buy oil in bulk.
Most Americans (non getbiggers) drive older cars. The auto companies have been building these gas guzzlers for decades. We don’t have any choices.

There is zero benefit using higher octane fuel than what is required by your cars specifications.
All cars come with a recommended fuel rating based on the engine's compression and fuel system.
Very few cars require high octane fuel.
You are just throwing money away if you are using higher octane than required by your engines demand.
My Corvette Z06 requires premium due to the high compression of the engine. Plus the system has been tuned by a third party to take advantage of higher octane in order to make more power. Typically only high performance vehicles require higher than 86-87 octane. And the higher octane is only needed under high load situations like towing or running at full throttle.

Jumped by .20 last night in my area

We don't have many options for high fuel economy.
Most hybrids here are shit with a lot of problems.
So finding something that gets better than 30 mpg is difficult.
I wouldn't have a problem buying a hybrid if they were dependable.
My Corvette gets 32 mpg on the highway at 70-80 mph. Mainly because it's light, aerodynamic and has good gearing.
The daily driver i use gets 25 mpg, which is pretty good for mixed City/Highway driving.
My GF has a new Hyundai that is said to get 30 City and 40 Highway. Even driving it like a grandma i've never seen it get better than 25 City and 30 Highway.
I think in time there will be better options, but to spend $30-40k on a new hybrid just to save $500-600 a year is pretty silly IMO.

Yep, although higher octane is smoother regardless.
When I’ve had modified cars I taken them in with lower fuel so I know I can run shit stuff if required. My last car was 550kw at the fly which is 740hp. Yeah I can get 100hp more with higher fuel but on the street it just equates to smoke lol.
-
Regular in my area is officially over $5 with the average $5.09 and as high $5.39
Genius move shutting down Keystone, lifting Trumps sanctions on Nord Stream 2, then placing useless sanctions on Russia all the while still buying oil from them while refusing to use our own resources. ::)

Yeah I have 3 different tunes for my car. One is for 87 octane and fuel economy, two is for 91 octane and safe for full throttle (higher than 91 is rare in my state), and three is for 93 octane that i can purchase from a few places. The 93 octane tune makes 30 more HP and it's still a conservative tune.
My car makes ~550 hp to the tires, so it's over 600 hp. Since it weighs 3100 pounds all that power equals lots of tire smoke. The LS7 is a torque monster. ;D
I can smoke the tires at 70 mph on the highway easily. First gear is basically useless without sticky tires.
Typically i drive it on tune two and run 91 octane, since i only drive it once a week or so. It's just a toy.

$5.59 this morning for plain old 87 octane bullshit gas. Of course the fucking stations rip you off for .10 more per gallon when you use your card. ::)

The day I saw this thread go up, I had just seen Fox report it had gone up $.07 on average so I was a bit shocked. I went to the gas station later that day for chew, and the owner who I know well was there. Since Biden killed Keystone on day one, I have been filling my tank as soon as I am 3/4 full once I saw the price shoot up a dollar per gallon here a week later, so I asked him if he had gone up 7 cents that day? He laughed, and asked me if I had gone to other stations? He just owns two locations. He said "I'm just trying to keep up or below what the big chains are doing so people will come inside to buy other things. None of us make shit on gas, it's all inside the store." I was still on full so didn't need gas, Jiban told me he went up $.20/gallon in that day and that he was still lower than the big chains. I passed 2 on the way home.......it's crazy, but somehow I have 6 stations within 3-5 minutes of me and they all thrive.....anyhow, he wasn't lying. He was 3-5 cents lower than the big chains. I guess he's just eating it outside and counting on alcohol, tobacco, soda, energy drinks, and he has a chicken franchise in store to overcome any gas price losses. Must be working. He is Hindu and his daughter just got married here last month so he had to pay for that, and he told me they are going to Nepal next month to throw another one there for the extended family that is not here and/or couldn't travel. Their culture goes big on weddings....it's more like fucking festival. I bet the poor guy with here and flights there for everyone will have probably spent around 200K for his daughter's weddings. If that dude ever cheated on his daughter or left her I would not blame him in any way for killing him. LOL! I know he put her through her masters, and am pretty sure he bought their home in GA, which is where the husband as from, as well. All of that fucking money, and now the dude doesn't even get to see his daughter..........nor do I dammit....she is fucking smoking hot!
Now I'm mad at the groom I never met, Biden, and high gas prices! >:( FML...why did I click this thread? ???

Gas prices in LA county went up 9.5 cents last night. 27 out of 29 days of prices going up. Thanks Bitem!
-
Now, it's $4 in Orange County (FL).
But, Orange Man Bad....... ::)
-
Here in Portugal jumped 17 cents per liter in diesel and 8 in gasoline.
-
I went to philly yesterday, when I left town the gas was 3.95, when I got back and filled up the gas at exact same station the gas was 4.29. today it shot up to 4.69. where will it end. will we hit ten dollars soon ??? ??? ??? ??? ???
-
All he has to do is start u our own production...Biden refuses to do it
-
It's $5.27 USD per gallon here.
And at some nearby gas stations, $5.83 USD per gallon.
-

Even Musk is asking for this.
-
I think these rising prices are mirroring the amount of people who dont work and get a gov handout.., crushing middle class whom have no choice but to drive

Here in Portugal next Monday diesel will increase 25 cents in litre (1 euro per gallon) and 15 cents gasoline. This Monday has already increased 15c and 8, diesel and gas respectively.
God Bless socialism and it's taxes.
How it stands today, in euros:
Gasóleo means regular diesel.
I believe that in imperial units a gallon of gas costs 8 euros.

Up .30 in less than a week here.
