Lot of news outlets are reporting this. I removed the video but its on worldstar

Sad. It’s like he flew out once the ride was slowing down….in an abrupt manner. Safety harness malfunction.
All those people standing around, guess they were in shock other than the people strapped in yelling for help.
-
That was fucking brutal. Some asshole going whooo in the back someone should have smacked him. And no one runs in, they calmly walk in. Scumbag amusement people all losers. If it was my kid I would have hammered all of them.
-
Manager, “You guys are sure you checked it?”
In the beginning you can tell his harness isn’t pulled down in lock all the way like the rest of them.
Crazy.

Why were they expected to check their own harnesses? So sad though. The park will be sued and will be sued for millions. They will lose rightfully so

That ride just opened in Orlando not too long ago. I believe it’s called Brutal if True

you are talking to a guy who pushes an 18 month old down a mountain on a snowboard.

Threw up on a gondola and had vertigo from Space Mt. Only do bummer cars.
Buffalo's a boring town. I went to an amusement park there to ride the bumper cars.
There was only one.

They’re not, the manager asked the attendant that. They usually do a fast walk around and push down to click the harness all the way down and then jiggle it up to make sure it’s locked in.
Seems like no one checked his to make sure all the way down and he slides out from the bottom. They’re going to be sued for sure, also the manufacturer of the ride, the seat should of had risers like an infant seat that prevents the butt from sliding forward.

I would have made that guy eat his fucking phone

Apparently, he aspired to have a future as a football player.
Allegedly, he was 43-lb overweight for the ride. I didn't know that rides had maximum weight limits. I only recall minimum height limits on rides, but I've never been on anything like this.

it probably jammed on the way down due to his weight, they should have given everyone else a sack of coal to balance the ride

Christ he was big enough to eat hay.

Lol...well, I guess it's starting to become apparent how this could have happened. Still though...I'm a little shocked a ride like this could even commence operation without ensuring everything is locked in...
Are these giant rises made like all the other cheap junk coming out of China? It's just baffling to me that there wouldn't be more built-in safety features...and it's not like the ride looks decades old or anything.
-
Christ he was big enough to eat hay.
Lol! 😂
It's possible he did.
I'm guessing he was a lineman on the high school team.
-
It was lucky that someone was literally filming the whole incident from start to finish. It captures incompetence all around - from Jesse Pinkman operating the ride and the kid [Tyre Sampson] for apparently not paying attention to the weight guideline, or noticing he wasn't locked in. Although that being said, for his part, I need to remind myself this was ultimately a 14-year-old boy. I feel like I would have known better at 14, but as wes says - he was just a kid.

Something like that would definitely have a weight limit with the centrifugal force from those speeds.

Most likely China. The issue with Theme park rides usually isn’t design issues (Schliterbahn water slide few years back) and attendant safety checks but maintenance and repair. Checking and repairing and maintaining these machines is super expensive and requires engineers. That’s why I only ride, rides at Disney. They have the money to keep up with operational costs and of course do so.
This was design and attendant failure for sure.

'If I don't make it down tell my mom and dad I love them': Boy, 14, who fell to his death from 430-foot Orlando drop tower told friends he was worried about safety harness during the ride, says his father
Tyre Sampson, 14, died on Thursday night falling from a ride at Orlando's ICON theme park in Florida
His father says that Tyre knew something was wrong and was 'freaking out' on the way up the ride
'If I don't make it down tell -- Please tell my mama and daddy I love them,' Tyre told friend sitting next to him
Just after the tragic incident, a 911 caller claimed that theme park staff didn't properly 'secure the seatbelt'

Damn. That sucks

Did someone say “flat tyre?”
-
Something like that would definitely have a weight limit with the centrifugal force from those speeds.
Very good explanation, Vince. I guess at the annual Canadian Lakehead Exhibition we have here, there were no such rides that had maximum weight limits - not that I remember, at least. Most were pretty standard rides - nothing like that 430-foot beast.
Also Vince - I respect that you didn't post the video. I understand why you made that judgment call. A lot of people are giving flak to the guy who filmed it for posting that.
That being said, it really shows the full context of what happened - damn, that incompetent amusement park is on for a lawsuit!
Great thread, Vince. Poor kid.
-
Did someone say “flat tyre?”
It was a "spare tire" but now it's flat.
-
no you wouldn't.

I'd have to agree with this, with no disrespect intended to joswift.
As a parent, my thought process may be different, but only if I could be absolutely certain my son was dead, and managed to process that immediately, and move on - at which point, I might be in such a state to kill Jesse Pinkman, who operated the ride - even then, I'd need to be confident in knowing he was the one who messed things up, rather than a mechanical failure being responsible.
I think we make comments about what we would do, with the knowledge we have now. In the moment - things could be different.
Personally, I think joswift would be too busy trying to make sure the kid is ok to deal with that guy filming it. It's hard to say, but what I mean is that I think our attention wouldn't necessarily be on that if we were there in the moment.
After watching the video though, I wonder: where was the sense of immediacy with staff members? As per usual, all the women can do is scream and call for help, contributing nothing to the kid who fell off the ride. ::) But frankly, the entire video was a disgrace to me, and literally everyone there made mistakes - even up to the level of the manufacturer.
Why didn't the ride have a bottom structure by the rider's crotch, essentially forcing them to stay seated? How was that ride even able to START without some mechanism capable of ensuring everyone was locked in place?
What an absolute boondoggle. At least the kid's parents will get a big settlement from this.
-
ya that was brutal. even on the downward portion he probably fell 80 feet face first.
-
That gate held up pretty good as well
-

Yes, it's confirmed. Here is the original source of the video:

Out of curiosity, is there anything that this kid could have done to prevent this from happening? Would any amount of holding on tightly to the handles have allowed him to stay on? In most rides, you can not hold onto the handles, and you will still stay on the ride.

Nah, it’s like holding on to a handle in a car during a wreck, the force is too much. Plus the only thing you’d have to hold on to is that harness mechanism and it’s lifting up since it wasn’t secured.

Thank you for answering that. So in the ride, I take it, you sort of get shoved into the handles? This whole ride seems like an accident waiting to happen.
You'd think it would be doubly protected, like what Rob C. Guns suggested: specifically, that crotch bar, that would have you locked in place in two places.

Not to defend those responsible, but the argument for capitalism is this:
We are all responsible for our own safety. It's not complicated - life has risks. And the money we save by being able to make those decisions for ourselves produces a better society than letting the government making these choices.
But hey - if enough people want to live in a totalitarian soy boy social credit dictatorship, who am I to fight it? People are pussies - and while the women were screaming in that video, the men weren't doing much to help either. What can we expect when male testosterone levels have dropped by 50% in the past 50 years.
And as you said - six feet of social distancing right?

Man, it's refreshing see Milton Friedman rape that naive leftist like that.
That young man is probably still alive. I hope he learned to think, and now understands the points Friedman told him there.
In Canada, we spent ONE TRILLION DOLLARS trying to fight Covid - AND WE STILL LOST.
Sadly, I think that is our future here in The West - and we will ALL be worse off listening to people who think like that one man in that video.
And many more people will die because of it - in our quest for The Greater Good.
Sad that one kid died on that amusement park ride...but we can't regulate a perfect world into existence.
RIP Milton Friedman.

Michael Moore currently weighs the same as a Ford Pinto and explodes from the rear every time he backs up into a toilet seat. Brutal irony and foreshadowing from a future land whale
-
Horrible.
I think every time I’ve ridden something like this (as a kid) I’ve told everyone to make sure my parents know I love them…
I didn’t watch the video, but was there no buckle to lock the harness in?
One time, when I was 12, I was on the corkscrew and the harness came up but the seat belt was buckled so it didn’t come up completely and I pulled back into the harness so it “locked in”. Looking back idk if it was really coming “up” but as a kid I believed it did so I have always been paranoid about making sure I’m locked in.
Also has Matt never ridden a roller coaster?

You'd think it would be doubly protected, like what Rob C. Guns suggested: specifically, that crotch bar, that would have you locked in place in two places.
Most have like a crotch bump or crotch buckle (like to prevent a baby from sliding out of a seat) and then the padded pullover harness for shoulders (prevent flying up from seat). Shoulder harness you hear it clicking in place till it can’t go down anymore. This dude was too big for the ride it seems and the crotch bump on the harness in this design wasn’t there to go down far enough to do anything.
The harness wasn’t latched (clicked down to lock) so it flew up and he flew under.

Sounded like a large pumpkin hitting the deck from a 50' drop. Hope he didn't suffer.
I rode a similar ride at Disney's CA Adventure Park. There was a teenage girl squealing in fright/delight to my right before liftoff. I pointed to the top of her seat and said that there was a screw loose. She started screaming in terror and demanded to be released. Nope, the attendant started the ride anyway. Her screams added immensely to my enjoyment.
-
fuck, I bet he comfort ate his way to his current size because of that.
Hahaha, that fat fuck is turning 68 next month, if I'm not mistaken. Michael Moore must have been 400-lb at his heaviest, at just under six feet.
And he complains that the American healthcare system isn't good enough. ::)

These are the types of low IQ things that happen to Black people everywhere in Western civilization, and up getting blamed on racism somehow [in this case, the meth-head ride operator didn't check to make sure everyone was strapped in, and said "Seatbelt left side AS the ride started."
At the same dumb, that dumb Black kid apparently thought you just walk into a ride and sit down, and no safety precautions are needed. While Jesse Pinkman ride operator shouldn't have allowed that fat cheeseburger eating Black kid on the ride, all of the safety requirements would have been posted on the entry side [maximum weight requirements], or easily ascertained by LOOKING AT THE PEOPLE AROUND HIM, or even asking a question.
And as I said, this is the sort of thing that Black people do EVERYWHERE THEY GO. It's exactly what we'd expect from a group of people who have an average IQ of 85. And with White and Asian/Jewish average IQs being 100/105/107, it takes a girl of girls to blame this sort of thing on "racism".
No amount of funding, special privileges, affirmative action jobs or food stamps will EVER equalize Black outcomes, just like NO amount of funding could make Whites or Asians run as fast as Blacks.
It's just infuriating to me to live in a world where this sort of dumb Black behaviour is blamed on White people. While in THIS SPECIFIC CASE, a White man / White people are to blame as well, THIS WOULD HAVE NEVER HAPPENED TO BEGIN WITH IF THAT BLACK KID WASN'T DUMB AS FUCK AND SEEMINGLY ILLITERATE.
Yet White people will CONTINUE to try to fix a problem that they aren't causing, and actually IMPORT masses of MENA men, making these problems even worse.
If diversity is such a strength - send it all to Israel. I mean, what, with Jews being so damn perfect and incapable of no wrong, why should White people benefit from the glory of racial diversity? Send North Entire Black, Indigenous, and Hispanic population to Israel! Why should the racist White oppressors benefit from these glorious people?? And with all the "racism" they suffer, why the fuck do they even want to live here?
In addition to make up complaints about racism, I'm just annoyed people so fucking stupid as that kid even exist.

RIP to this poor kid...but this is EXACTLY why the government regulates everything out of existence.
It didn't come to terms to him that rides like this COME WITH RISKS??? And if he was telling his friend to tell his parents he loved them in case of his death, does that mean he had a mid-air revelation that his seatbelt wasn't on??
There could be things to explain this though - remember that equally fat Black kid Michael Brown, who assaulted a store clerk and then attempted to take a police officer's gun, and ultimately got shot, and prompted the #BlackLivesMatter movement, which was previously called #HandsUpDontShoot, until proof emerged that his hands were NEVER UP?
Well - he was on enough marijuana to cause hallucinations. So I don't want to overly harshly judge the kid who died on the rollercoaster - for all I know, maybe he used marijuana for the first time that night, causing him to be so out of the loop, he forgot basic safety protocols, and happened to run into an equally dazed/dumb ride operator that same night.
The perfect storm of bad events.
But my point is - it's idiotic behaviour like this that will regulate every worthwhile thing in life until everything is shut down permanently.
As we continue to replace White people with lower IQ third worlders, our society WILL collapse. We ready have TEN TIMES as many long-haul truck crashes in Canada since replacing our White truckers with East Indian ones.
Watch it keep happening in other areas of society.
Don't say I didn't warn you.

Matt I think this has less to do with race and more with the height/weight of a 14 year old without any life experience.
Actually maybe because he was black the attendant didn’t pay attention to his cries for help.

I think you could be right - and the moronic amusement park attendant / ride operator didn't help.
But I don't know - is it really such a shock to know we need to ensure our own protection in cases like this? Exactly what did he think protects him? Holding tightly onto the handles? And was he even holding on? Does it take a genius to know you should possibly hole on to the bars?
He's 14 years old - not four years old.
Still - I can't be too harsh on him, because he was young.
-
you said it.
I'm really glad I'm not the only one who despises White Guilt.
I'm reminded of that silverback gorilla Harambe, who had to get shot when a small child somehow found his way into the enclosure.
At first, a bunch of dumb fucks online said they would never have shot the silverback if the child was Black [what an absolute FESTERING crock of absolute horseshit, that can ONLY be said after decades of telling low IQ Blacks and dumb fuck White liberals such a lie is true, causing them to internalize such completely asinine beliefs].
And later on - THEY FOUND OUT THE KID WAS BLACK!!
The difference in that case was that at least the park operators followed proper protocol to the letter INCLUDING shooting the gorilla - WHICH THEY DID CORRECTLY.
But where the hell was the Black child's single mother at the time?? Probably scoring crack from her contact at the zoo parking lot, but leave it to the Jewish press to NEVER mention that.
Yeah, I'm joking...but is that pretend scenario really that unlikely?

When Jesse Pinkman said "Seatbelt left side", he was talking about his OWN left side. He should have at described the location with respect to an objective geography, or identified the person by an individual characteristic!
Like "Future Lineman Hall of Famer", or "Obama's 350-lb son! Get your ****ing seatbelt locked in!"
Actually, he should have STOPPED THE RIDE until he confirmed the issue was taken care of!
What are the odds of getting two morons like this? With such a moronic ride operator, this was an accident waiting to happen for the first moron rider - although, as has been said, he was just a young guy.
Still the entire matter just reeked of being wholly preventable, IMO.

That’s fucked up. Yo bad he didn’t live to spend the huge money coming his way.

I mean I hate to say it because he is 14 but fuck this is Darwinism the kid knows he is 340lbs he can tell the fucking seat belt isn't locked anyone can see it isn't secure on him and fitting. How many rides have you people been on you don't triple check that shit yourself? I learned about seatbelts long before I was 14. You can't just blame the ride operator you have to take some personal responsibility in life
-
14 and 340lb doesnt bode all that well longevity wise anyway.

I don't understand this part - did he actually realize his life was in danger, prompting him to say this? If so, why wasn't "Stop the ride!!! My seatbelt!!! My seatbelt!!!", Etc, as the ride transcended upward?
Or did he just say because he knew it was a risky ride? If he did, why the hell didn't he pay mind to the safety regulations at the start?
It seemed to me that he died due to having a nonchalant attitude about it [combined with employee incompetence]. If he did, I don't see why he would have feared for his life at the top. And if he noticed his seatbelt was off, he should have screamed out.

they dont react to someone screaming, it happens all the time
Once that ride started going up he was fucked..

You can not physically take enough marijuana to cause hallucinations it is not a hallucinate

Lot of news outlets are reporting this. I removed the video but its on worldstar
Glad. I admit, I used to watch some fucked up shit. I forget the name of site, and don't know if even exists....it was around early 2000's and especially high traffic/well known when all the beheading vids were out.....anyhow, the older I get the less I can handle seeing gory vids, beatdowns, and people's deaths. You are around the same age as me.
What is your fascination with this shit? There's not enough terrible images and "reporting" on the news for your taste? Do you have so much anger inside from being a black gay dude that other's people's misery is like revenge type of thing that turns you on?
It's creepy how many threads you post of shittiness like this you post, and then to think how many others you watch b4 finding one that is "post-worthy" is even creepier.

I'm almost positive you're talking about "consumption junction". My buddy used to check it out all the time in yearbook class, once my school got high speed internet in the year 2000. Fucker was seriously sick, cause he would watch all the murder videos and laugh throughout! LOL!

No, and I'm pretty sure that site is still up and doing well isn't it? Maybe I've just seen old thread titles referencing it? ???

YES! THAT WAS IT! Good memory. Don't want to watch anything on there, but is it still around.
I have a thing for chicks that can squirt like crazy.....only had the fortune to be with two ever. One time on CJ, I was looking at squirter vids, and then next thing I know, I'm watching a vid of a Jap/Chink chick in a bathtub pushing out a squid out of her pussy. I never watched that site again. :-X

No more squids being push out of pussies? Might have to check it out again if not.
That shit traumatized me. I was more disturbed at the thought of it being shoved in there which they didn't show, then the vid of it being pushed out.

Reminds me of that "chocolate rain" song.
