problem is I have no clue what this "Special military operation" is about as nothing is really happening other than people dying but without any real direction or attempt by Russia at actually doing anything

I am not a fan of Putin. I think Russia is a dictatorship or close to it. I don't think they value freedoms the same way the West does. I think Ukraine is corrupt. I think Ukraine is probably more like the West than Russia is. But I don't see Putin losing in this. I think he's getting what he wants. By what parameters are Ukraine and USA and NATO winning in this?
