Title: Quit TRT Cold Turkey
Post by: OlympiaGym on September 16, 2022, 05:07:37 PM
Used for 25 years. Down to 125 mg a week for last year or so. Quit cold turkey a couple of months ago and feel pretty much the same. Balls back to size. No PCT. Cialis on occasion. No hormone bloods in over a year.

I've come of gear for a couple years a few times.

I did experience a bit of an emotional rollercoaster, but it wasn't too bad. I generally just felt tired all the time for a couple months.

Now that we have more data on TRT and hormones in general, it's normal for men to regain their Test levels.

A lot of it depends on your age.

I was on for 6 years straight, taking a lot of gear. Tapered down and came off. After 8 months my Test levels were right in the middle of the range.

PCT is debatable. I think if you are coming off for good it's not going to make a big difference.

I quit 1000mg test at once after 4 months. No pct no nothing.... Got normal boners and sex drive, just like on cycle. Felt normal mood and strength stayed the same. The only problem was that I broke out with lots of acne, even on the face....was very worried about scars.

Post cycle therapy bro. Clomid.

I had to look it up.  It looks like it is for women, correct?  Why would a man take it?  I am probably going to have to ask my wife or son to help me understand this one, thank you!

It can be used to block the estrogen related side effects from coming off Testosterone. Also boosts your Test levels, which people use it to recover from using Test.

HCG is better for stimulating your natural Test levels.

Good stuff.

I came off trt a while back, no PCT and sex drive went up lol. Felt fine but noticed my temper was short which was really odd. Normally I’m ok but it felt like I was on edge every minute. I hated that bit so I went back on and that immediately went away. Weird?

My urologist said I should go on TRT, he said he believes in it 100%.

I told him I'll wait a decade.

This is exactly how I feel now.  Gonna try enclomiphene 1st before going back on trt.

PCT was invented by steroid dealers so they could sell you something instead of the steroids

Taking PCT is still throwing your body off its normal path

WHY? After 25yrs. now you're ok with low T, strange.

Different priorities and interests than I had 25 years ago, even 10 or 5 years ago.

I don’t think I have “low T.” I’m not experiencing any symptoms of low T. I’ve had regular panels run, which all came back great, but no hormonal ones. I am curious to know what my levels are.

I started cutting back after reading Victor Black’s stuff. I noticed I actually felt better on less and looked the same. Then I started really cutting back and started thinking it would be great to just be done with it. So here I am. I was always a “TRT for life” guy but in the back of my mind I knew it wasn’t personally sustainable.

Interesting. One question, does no hormone bloods mean you have no idea where your hormone levels are?

I have been on TRT somewhat less time than you have. The currently prescribed dose is 150 mg however the vials have 200 mg and lately, I've used a vial per injection.  Occasionally, I wonder how I'd feel if I quit. From what I've read going cold turkey is not a good idea.

I inadvertently forgot to give myself a test cypionate injection last Monday. Was going to do labs at the end of the month for my annual visit with the urologists. Now I am considering skipping this Monday's shot too. I am also not giving myself the HCG injections today and tomorrow as I usually do. A couple of weeks off shouldn't be a problem, I hope. It might be a good way to determine how necessary TRT is for my health and sense of wellbeing.

Correct. The only blood test I’ve had has been through my internist and he doesn’t deal with anything other than general health.

BTW, I never ever used HCG.

Did you taper off your cycle?

Did you taper off your cycle?

Wasn’t really a cycle. The last 10 years have been blast and cruise. I was never “off.” Was cruising on “enhanced” TRT at the end of the year and then went down to 125 every five days and then every seven days. Quit completely in July. Haven’t used orals, tren, etc. in last 3-5 years. Did Deca last year for a while but was fast losing interest, particularly the dieting.

Couple questions.

How old are you? And how often would you 'blast'?

Yes,I always ramped up slowly to a peak amount then reversed it as I planned on coming off/down by tapering......always cycled on and off and never lost all that much....mostly just a certain look to the muscles, but of course I was never a huge guy.

The most I ever did, and the longest I ever stayed on was due to gh15`s board......I know the guy was a clown but I joined that board exclusively to learn more about gear and I got into fantastic shape.....for me anyway......I looked a bit like Jay Cutler......around the eyes.  ;D

2-3 times a year. 3-4 months a pop.

I pretty much follow the TRT program suggested by the late Dr. Crisler who started the All-Things Male clinic. HCG on each of the last two days before injecting testosterone supposedly helps your body to continue producing natural testosterone. HCG can also be used for weight loss, but the routine is different in that you inject it daily. I have no trouble losing weight when I want to. Gaining weight is another story.

His blasts may have been only upping the dose to 300mg a week, that’s nothing. I’ve been on no less than 500mg of TE for the past 15 yrs. Up as far a 1 gram for 8 months and several 750mg blasts for several months at a time. Labs are fine have them done 3/4 times a year. It’s Test, a hormone the body produces, not injecting poison here. Recently had an echocardiogram, cardiologist said I’m looking fine.
