I think there's a well established correlation between grip strength and longevity.
I doubt it's been studied if the same applies to deadlifts. If you start testing at say 65 or 70. I think so. At least these guys don't die of frailty. Poster bias: I love deadlifts. One of my training partners deadlifts 660 at 58. I think that's badass. He's still eyeing 682.

The grip strength correlation is correct.
The study done measured grip strength, via time spent hanging from a pull-up bar, and time spent in a wall squat, in addition to another strength metric, and they were able to predict life expectancy based on these measurables.

That's not too much for a deadlift at 80...nice but I'd expect an impressive lift to be say 400 at eighty years old.
