Dudes insane...
Pretty hard to say "he cheats, its Sumo" when he does it that easily. Impressive no matter the method. (And well within the rules).

Strong fucking guy no doubt.

Yes. I used to do sumo deadlifts and it was easier than the regular stance. Shaw, Thor, Eddie, and the other strongmen should try this stance. Curious to see what they lift.

For a second there, I thought he was going to actually pull 1000lb listening to that fucking awful demotivating drooling drivel being pumped out ::)
I've got nothing against people having different music tastes (because I'm pretty sure that I would be one of very few people who walk in a forest, listening to "relaxation music" that is sold in post offices :) ) but I've never for one second understood why anybody would play that shit in a situation where you're attempting to physically exert to the limit. Regardless of who you are, that's not an adrenaline pumper.

Strong dude.
All the way strong dude.

Raw meet (new "Raw" w/ belt, sleeves).

I'm the other way. I've never really done 'em, so they are awkward for me, and I'm much stronger conventional.
I did some sets a couple weeks ago, just to try 'em as they keep you more upright. (Less back issues).
Only went to 315 for some sets of 3-5. Like anything, the more we do it, the more we will get better at it.
May keep them in next time I DL, since my back is 100% better when skipping my normal DL day.

Sumo deadlifts were my favorites as well. Feels more natural with less chance for injury.

Thick as a brick shithouse but not conventional so less rom

In 1980 I saw Mike Bridges at the World Championships and he was a great lifter in all 3 lifts (He didn’t do any strict curls)but I watched him deadlift and he did the sumo and I swear it looked like that bar only moved about 6 inches. I thought it made sense to try this so I gave it a go.Long story short results were ok but not great so I went back conventional. I think maybe if your body type is suitable it may be a better way.

Sumo deadlifts are the arched back of benching.

Happy New Year to you too brother Wes :)

If your leverages work favourably with sumo, the advantage of a DRAMATICALLY smaller ROM is profound.
Couple this with straps and a deadlift (bendy) bar, and it’s a WORLD of difference. Hundreds of pounds.
Not trashing on this dude.
He is extraordinarily strong.
But know what you’re seeing.
Side Note:
The deadlift records didn’t budge much for decades. Then, as with the other lifts, shit went off like a rocket with the introduction of huge dosages and “new” drugs.
