Ridiculous!! ;D
I agree, but those are some nice York plates.

What is that nonsense. Take that shirt off and bench 5-600. Why does anyone even entertain this crap? Cheering and going crazy like what he did was even worth talking about. I’m gonna go deadlift today and rent a crane to help me do 5000 lbs.
Either you can do it or you can’t and in this case, he can’t.
-
I give Kolb an iota of credit for just lying under that amount.
But calling it a bench-press is comical.
So glad the geared PL craze went downhill.
Walking around like Frankenstein, helped into a "shirt", pulled under the bar, hands placed on the bar for you, etc.
Retarded...

No doubt crazy strength just to hold it or be under it. Otherwise flat out retarded.

A lot nicer than the "lift" !! :D

QFT. Seems like lowering the bar against the “support” from the bench shirt is more difficult than pressing it.
I’m kinda surprised they haven’t started using a mono lift for bench press, if squatters don’t have to walk the weight out of racks, pressers shouldn’t have to liftoff from a bench

Might just be me but the whole lift should have to be completed by the competitor alone. No lift off, no mono lift for squat. You do the whole lift form start to finish as that’s part of the whole thing. I always benched with with no lift off and I managed 500 that way. These big juiced up fucks can surely do the whole lift by themselves but it would drop the numbers, which they obviously could not handle. Shirt, lift=NO LIFT. Why the need for inflated fake numbers?

That s Jimmy Kolb. He has short arms and a fat stomach and a multiplye shirt.
But he keeps going heavier though.
-
Why did someone there not harpoon this whale of a man-beast and cart his carcass of to the nearest taxidermist? What a human dildo. Wearing a Joe Biden Commemorative Spastic for Spastics rubber undies on his chest, shoulders and arms is sooooo "I am the Whoreax, I speak for the Dweebs"...FTN.

Utter bullshit ::)

This stuff is purely circus shit.
Without the support wear, that 1300 pounds, the SECOND he unlocked his elbows, would have quite literally caved his ribcage and severed his spine.
And, anyway, without the balancing aid once unracked, the bar would have dropped in an arc, either crushing his pelvis into dust or collapsing the equipment before pancaking his face. And possibly injuring the spotters and cratering the platform and floor.

Haha, now that would be worth cheering and screaming to see.

Double dipped, lift no good.

Circus clowns

It's an insane amount of weight to get under no doubt about that. The whole is ridiculous though. Any clue what this dude raw benches? He couldn't even rerack it himself. He looks like a fat beer drinking slob from a pub not a powerlifter

Exactly. Why stop at multiple shirts? Why not just use mechanical means to lift the weight at this point?

Next up bench press using a fork lift truck.
Other than supporting that huge poundage- That nonsense is just stupid, it certainly isn't a Bench Press ::)

Has made a mockery of a once great sport

Nothing like the good old days. Speaking of benching, I believe the scariest bencher ever was Glen Chabot, who wasn’t a fat sack of shit and would fire 600 off his chest for reps with minimal arch and a medium grip!
If I recall correctly, Fortress said he saw him scare the daylights out of someone.
Training with Titus below.

Are you from Massachusetts?

Are you from Massachusetts?
Born and raised in Springfield Ma.

Even Chabot was only good for 562 raw in a meet.
He mainly did Multi-Ply as well...
-
Amazing lift and it was accomplished with only 7 spotters. :-\

Coan and I sat a few feet away as Glen came close to killing a dude. Wanted to go outside with him. Some of the world’s greatest powerlifters and strongmen had to intervene.
Chabot was HOT under the collar.
Scary.

20 minutes from Enfield and 30 from Hartford.
-
These equipped bench competitors sometimes fail because they can’t make the bar to touch theit chests!
It is hard to think any activity that has turned so totally upside down from it’s origins?

If I recall correctly, you said that was all over some guy who wrote something unflattering about him? What a nut!

Why polevault when you can just high jump? no one is questioning the validity of pole vaulters.

Never thought about that but now that you mention yes get rid of the pole and just jump. But seriously you can’t consider that a bench press?

Very good point - well made.

On the topic of benching: have you guys seen this bullshit-artist, “natty” bencher Colin Weng?
Messing with 500 and saying he’s natural, lol. Even Ryan Kennelly, who was bigger than him and a top-ranked bencher said he couldn’t bench 500 without roids!
eature=share
Benching over 5 in this one, “natty”. Haha!

Ya my company just did the new construction of an assisted living facility in Enfield. Springfield is just a skip and a jump away. They have a casino there now I believe
