Calves are truly odd. Here’s Olympic sprinter Justin Gatlin who’s not only run some of the fastest 100m sprints ever, but also been busted for steroids. If anyone would have huge calves it would be him. But alas he runs on pencils.

We hit calves today. After seated calf raises we went to the standing machine.
One set. One giant drop set with zero rest.
500 x 5. I set the stack down, training partner lowered the weight by two plate.
480 x 5. Same thing
Kept going to one plate on the machine. Set took 2 minutes I’m guessing. Just horrible. My calves stink. WTH?

maybe walking around all day with 100lbs+ extra weight could be a way to increase their size. The father of a friend of mine, who was a super fat hunter(300lbs @ 5'9"), sported astounding calves seemingly developed just by walking around in the forest.(He also had a car to terrorize the woods so I give him a maximum of around an hour on his feet per day.)

How often do you hit them?
I made a thread here a couple months ago about bringing up lagging body parts so people could get help/advice/tips from experienced lifters here and
*crickets* basically.
Disappointing.
Only one getbigger (Irongrip400) asked for help (good on him) (re: his calves) and got good advice from RobC - and myself.

Clearly, calves like to be used n abused frequently (like just-about daily). Look at all the fat fucks walking around in shorts with big muscular calves. Their calves are being worked every time they walk. Yes, not ALL heavy people have big muscular calves and I believe the reason for that is because the heavy fucks who don't are simply lazy who avoid walking/moving as much as possible and the heavy fucks who do have jacked calves walk everywhere / a lot, exercise....
How many of you with shit calves train them every day or two and have been doing so for over a year? You can't expect them to be huge when you train them once a week and forget or don't bother to train them every second or third week.
If you prioritize a muscle / body part, train it often and intensely, stick with it, get it pumped up, have enough of the right hormones in your system..... it WILL grow.
My cock is now 13" as a result...

It's all in the insertions. A person can start out with small calves and grow them huge IF they have low insertions.

I think most people’s calves suck because they do a couple worthless pump sets at the end of “leg day” and feel like they “worked them so hard but they won’t grow”. Your arms and chest would suck too if you worked them like that.
