The Arnolds 2023 Wheel of pain is MASSIVE

No Martins?
-
No Martins?
He's taking a year off I guess, was 360 lbs at his last contest and wants to get down to a lean 300 lbs.
He may go for some records though he said, some are saying American Log Press record and maybe a DL (Elephant bar, etc)..

Hahaha. Agreed.

First event is over and Mateusz wins it.
He hasnt competed in a couple of years, so a good 1st event for him.
The frame-carry he always destroys people (usually) curious to see how he does there.
(Has the world record in that one).
His DL is always lacking, thats where he normally gives away points...

So far Sam seems too small compared to some of the behemoth amazon women.

So far Sam seems too small compared to some of the behemoth amazon women.
Tell me about it.
Sam is crazy strong though.
Her one-arm dumbbell press is probably 30-lb more than mine. I can probably do 140 right now, and a bit more if I trained specifically for it. But I don't train at a Strongman gym, and don't have sufficient equipment, and don't want to drive way across town to train properly.
I feel I could get to 160 without steroids, at the same body weight as Sam [183-lb].
But she pressed 183-lb [her own BW], which is INSANE for a woman. While I do feel that's within the realm of my genetics, I don't really want to risk my shoulders at my age.
So I'm not going to lie - Sam is the only woman in my city stronger than me.
But she IS Canada's Strongest Woman...and she uses way more than me.
These top women are good, but the 176-lb male world champion would beat even these juiced women, who outweigh them by 70-lb.
I'm not sour grapes here. Just saying male/female genetic equality is a myth.

Look at that fruity pepples phaggot.
Hope a particularly heavy implement crushes him.

Gym Rat, do you know how much that elephant bar adds to a deadlift?
-
Matt, Pritchett was saying "people think its easier".. But in reality, its just "different". The whip, etc.
It moves all around.
Some really good pulls. Of course its a Strongman DL (not PL), which includes straps, hitching, etc. (Which also add to a total).
Kearny has an odd technique to him, but it works for him. He beats a lot of people who outweigh him by 100 lbs.
Came in 3rd here. Odd guy, but very strong...

I understand what Pritchett is saying, but Eddie Hall and Thor both got 1,100+ on the elephant bar, and to my knowledge, neither has gotten 1,000 on the conventional bar.
So I think it adds about 10%.
Once you get used to the bar bend/whip, the tension doesn't start for a few inches. So it's more like an elevated deadlift, from what I can tell.

Mateusz just won another event, that odd "Stone Throw".
He has the world-record in the upcoming final event, so he's favored if it goes well for him (Frame carry).
He should at least take 2nd (maybe 1st) if all goes well for him. Pretty good comeback after 2 years being out with bad injuries..
Hooper may win though, kids amazing at 27 years old..
-
Just your average 650 lb. pull by a lady... ;)
What a travesty of nature.

Mateusz wins the frame carry. He won 3 out of the 5 events this weekend, came in 2nd overall.
(Deadlift is his "weakness" and he wasnt up to par yet in the log-lift (post-surgery).
Mitchell Hooper wins the contest. Amazing rookie season, many wins and podium finishes.
Good contest all around though...
