The police are pretty good and if your community has a neighborhood watch that seems to be very beneficial.

If you have a rapid dog and it bites an intruder are you responsible rapidies shots if they become infected?

Just use Ring - does the trick

One popular choice is Alfred, which lets you turn your old smartphone into a home security camera. It's easy to set up, and you can even view your camera feed remotely from your own phone.
Another option is Manything, which works in a similar way. You can use an old phone or tablet as a camera, and Manything will send you alerts if it detects any motion. Plus, you can view your camera feed from anywhere using the Manything app.
If you're looking for something a little more comprehensive, you might want to check out HomeAssistant. It's a bit more involved to set up, but it's a powerful platform that can integrate with a ton of different smart home devices.

Ask Hanky. He came up with the term during a Mensa meeting!
All I know is that you can only kick a rapid dog for so long until it bites you and attacks you

Rings aren't FREE.

Rings aren't FREE.
About $100 a year. About $60-80 to buy each camera, depending on deals. With 4 or 5 cameras, you can cover enough area around. Nothing is really 'free'

Here’s the thing though, there’s some rapid dogs who will tuck their tail between their legs and then there’s the type you reference. I’m the type of daw…guy whos going to attack you.

What do you mean? How? Ring has a setup with local law enforcement where they can access the device? I’d be interested to know how that works.
There was an issue in my neighborhood where the police asked me if my ring records the street, I’m assuming they wanted the footage if it did, but they can legally go an take that?
Edit.

Amazon is garbage. Looks like I need to research a different home monitoring system.

Team the Pomeranian with a Great Pyrenees and you have an early warning system and an enforcer

8 camera systems are cheap if you don't need the latest greatest version. You can store a picture per second from each cam online way cheaper than storing high resolution video.
Ok not free but who has a need for security and then does it half assed?
In addition to not making things tempting or inviting, motion activated high noon floodlights will dissuade most thieves imo.
A buddy of mine just put dummy cameras around. I'd use them more in addition to real.
Breakbeam sensors are cheap for small distances like across a driveway.
