Do any of you find this case important? Or is it unfair that other outlets haven't been sued for the same amount of money?
ICYMI, several emails and leaks have come out that confirm the network heads knew that questions about the legitimacy of the election and the Dominion election software weren't true. I saw an interesting quote from FNC's counsel where she said this:
"We err on the side of speech because the more and more speech you have, the better chance of having people actually getting the opportunity to point out what's right and what's wrong," attorney Erin Murphy, one of the senior figures on Fox's defense team, tells NPR in an interview. "And that's why we don't suppress the speech that we don't think is right."
So, this is an interesting statement because most outlets would argue that it's important to make sure the stuff they get on the air is objectively true ( by their own standards) because it's a question of reputation. Or at least they would have argued that a decade ago. Now I wonder if most people who would watch Fox News feel the same as the above quote, it's more important to get stuff on air, even if it's unquestionably false, because otherwise it would be suppression?

The problem media faces today is this:
*it takes days/weeks/months to fact check stories in the real world.
*It takes 5 seconds for someone to post something online after which you have 8hrs to also post about it to achieve ad revenue before the topic is stale.
People are still conditioned that media articles are true and researched despite the fact they are clearly not. Twitter is easily the cesspool of BS information, at one point many people seriously thought aliens were invading.

The other issue is that $ based system that drives this. The more sensational, divisive, etc, the more $. Read Hate Inc.....

Excellent points.
What’s disheartening is that in this new media world truth is “subjective” and credibility no longer matters.
Fox should be held accountable for this BS, but the question is how long was it a “known lie” as opposed to reporting from unnamed credible sources?
This isn’t going to sway a die hard Fox News fan, they’ll say what I’ve said on here before, Fox got caught now let’s wait for the other networks to be exposed. I would imagine this affects a limited part of their base audience.
Those who are opposed to Fox News are now further emboldened in their justified opinion.
There’s so much distrust with todays media the question is who is the credible unbiased news source?

I could quote the three above posts and agree with all of them. Mainstream media sucks ass and will continue to do so if there is a monetary incentive.
-
All we’re fed is endless lies, propaganda and evil.

I’m too occupied with bodybuilding right now to worry about this

But bro what if the Mr Olympia results were just as fake as the election results!??!

Real Clear Politics at least gives you the opportunity to browse a decent breadth of free article sources from across the general political spectrum and has a good volume of daily updates
It doesn't answer your question - Im not sure whether such a thing exists in this day & age sadly - but not a bad bookmark for a casual regular look to then allow the discerning reader to formulate their own opinion. Also offers a good entry point sample to some of these sources

Of course a defense attorney for Faux News is going to try to spin it as free speech
What they did was lie repeatedly and constantly and we now know they they KNEW they were lying
That's what is going to get them
No other other network did that
If they had then Dominion/Smartmatic would be suing them too just like they are suing Mike Lindell and Sydney Powell
