RIP to one of the founding fathers of #TeamHorseCock.

This made me sad.
I remember him from movies mostly. Well into his 60's he still was able to play hard man roles without looking foolish.
Also, it's a somewhat unknown film, but Brown was in a movie called "Fingers" with Harvey Keitel, where he has some great understated scenes essentially cucking Keitel's character. Very solid performance -
.
(Full film here - https://archive.org/details/fingers1978 .)
RIP.

RIP to the greatest running back of his time.

Greatest running back that ever lived....retired too early.
RIP
-
I remember when Barry Sanders retired. Barry's dad took over the podium and basically started shit talking Barry and kept saying how much better Jim Brown was than Barry. Its was weird and cringey.
-
I didn't know he was still alive.
Rip fireball

I hated that, was it the HOF induction where he did the same thing?
Barry's dad sucked.
RIP Jim Brown

It was very inappropriate. Barry's dad was always a dick and putting him down.

William Sanders, asked by his son to introduce him at the induction ceremony on Sunday, indeed spoke. But not about Barry.
"If you want to learn about Barry Sanders, you're going to have to buy Barry Sanders' book," Williams Sanders said.
And darned if he didn't ignore his son in a three-minute soliloquy.
William Sanders cracked up the crowd of about 25,000 at Fawcett Stadium by saying, with a straight face, "I want to say hello to the No. 1 running back who ever lived. He's not with us today. Mr. Jim Brown."
Sanders' father then praised his family, down to grandkids and daughters-in-law, and said, "They put tears (of joy) in my eyes. Not Barry. This (the family) is the reason Barry's here today, his support cast."
Then William Sanders said hello to a few family friends in Wichita, Kan., and indicated his time was up.

IIRC the one I'm talking about was when Barry retired. There was a huge celebration. Thought it was at the Silverdome. I think the HOF induction was separate. It didn't help that Barry was so introverted either. But man, was his dad a dick.

William Sanders was always angry/jealous about his son’s success.
Weird guy, I seem to remember him smoking cigars on the sideline of games at the Silverdome.
