I picked up these when I was in Japan the other week. Japan is heaven if you have a sneaker fetish. (I don’t). You find stores all over. Every corner. There are places that even have the “claw” type games and other arcade games where you can win vintage and/or one of a kind collectible shoes. It costs anywhere from 5,000 yen to 10,000 yen to try depending where you go and how valuable the sneakers are.
I got these at ABC Mart. 8000 yen. ($60) Cheap, mainly cause they on the ugly side. But I have always found adidas to make a decent walking shoe.
Taking these to try out and break in when I go to Paris tomorrow. Lightweight and semi flexible, but wouldn’t wear them for lower body training. Not that I will go to a gym in Paris. Their gym scene is almost as bad as japans.
-
On running cloud x I find to be the most comfortable sneakers to workout and do cardio in. They are extremely light and they breathe nicely also very comfortable. They are around 180.00 a pair but I get them comped from casino so I’ve got about 10 pairs in the last year. I wouldn’t pay 180 for sneakers.
-
In my basement gym I train in $20 Chuck Taylor knockoffs from Walmart.
When in my garage doing standing presses I wear $35 high top steel toe work boots also from Walmart.

I used to love lifting in work boots, did it for many years.

You do a lot of walking so you would know which is best. I have pumas for my bike rides and under armor for other stuff.
With these adidas if they work out then great (they usually turn out well) if not, I will leave them behind with no real sense of loss.
-
Nike Invincibles have been my main shoe. The cushioning is great.

Prior to these I was walking and working out in adidas Climacools for years and they were great as well.

Depends on what I’m training.
For legs I try to wear some type of “trainer” I have Nike Metcons, Romales or sometimes boots.
I will rotate through alot of other shoes for other body parts.
-
Ultra boosts / Nike reacts fly knit and of course otomix
-
Wolverine work boots with my daisy dukes.
Leg day only. ;D
I have the Adidas lifters for doing Oly style lifting.
All other days i wear Asics Kayanos.
Most comfortable shoe i've ever worn.

squat in adipowers, I don’t run in the gym but I run in Nike Pegasus.
The rest is whatever is the least nice speakers i have. Usually last year’s summer pair(blazers/af1)
-
Any kind of flat soled sneaker, usually Vans
I run in untied Nike Frees but they’re too squishy and unstable for lifting. Well, not with the girly man weights I’m lifting these days, but for 2 plates plus they are suboptimal
Boots are good to lift in but I feel like a tryhard wearing those in the gym with sweats and athletic apparel

Sliders

I squat in the ones on the left, and use the ones on the right on upper body days.
-
Crossfit Nano in gym.
Hoka Bondi for road running.
Altra Lone Peak for offroad rucking.
Solomon Speedcross for offroad running.
-
Nike running sneakers.
-
Woprk boots were always my favortie squat-shoe, Great stable base, great ankle support... :)
The New Balance I wear these days are extremely comfortable. PLus, US made, and no slavings applied!

I miss the Nano 3....
I might switch to Tyr CXT-1 Trainer or the Strike-Mvmnt Haze trainer
Was not impressed with the Hoka shoes. Currently getting to know this professional triathlete....she loves them. I like my Saucony ones
-
£30 is my maximum for training shoes
I currently have some red ones, no idea what make they are, I just look how much they are and if I like the look I buy them
-

Brooks running shoes now but I’m about to buy a pair of Cole Haan running shoes and use those. If the regular Coke Haan sneakers are any standard of comfort, the running shoes must feel like raw dog pussy.

The Hokas are my least favorite. I went to Marathon sports, which measures you on this machine and supposedly matches everything. Bullshit. A bit narrow for me.
I'm going to check out the ones you listed.

Eloquent.
I didnt realize Cole Hann made running shoes.

I like the Nano for the gym, great support but comfortable as well. I tried the Bondi for walking/running: cushy ride but bulky and clumsy and wears too fast. Switched to Brooks Glycerin and Asics Nimbus, they're almost as comfortable as the Bondi but not as heavy. Will check out the Altras for hiking.

For most of my lifting it's a pair ratty New Balance walking shoes. For stuff like Power cleans or squats I still lace up proper Adidas lifting shoes. Just more stable. For running it's New Balance 993 black on black or Saucony Omni when I need a cushioned shoe when my joints are hurting. For jeans I wear Florsheim grey suede shoes.

Swear to God, ever since I saw Lee Labrada wearing these in a '90s Iron Man photo shoot, I've mostly worn a variety of these things - as cheap as possible
(https://external-content.duckduckgo.com/iu/?u=https%3A%2F%2Fi.ebayimg.com%2Fimages%2Fg%2FiIsAAOSwRLZT7OAN%2Fs-l400.jpg&f=1&nofb=1&ipt=c57b0c6ae8645292ca4c0c28c9ff0f420862eadd266d173f9b2a08db882d2db2&ipo=images)
And on a lateral note, for the last 20 years instead of gloves I've used sponge washcloths to protect my ladylike hands - younger guys in the gym look at me like I'm mental in my cheap and ripped sh1t ;D
Do any of you guys still cut your t-shirts around the traps to look bigger like the '80s trend.... come on 'fess up! I still use a bum bag (fanny pack) for Christ's sake!!!
;D ;D ;D

Let me know how you like these. I have a pair of the Zero loafers and it is amazing how comfortable they are.

Altra Lone Peaks are probably the most comfortable shoe for me. Wide front box, zero drop (takes some getting used to).
However, they are not that durable, and will wear out quicker than others.

Maybe you are paying more? Have you done the numbers? Are you coming out ahead in the Casino game? A friend of my wife's son kept taking them to fancy restaurants because they were comped by the Casino. Meanwhile, he was losing money year after year. Much cheaper to just pay for the restaurant and not gamble away your money.

Most people aren't doing it for the dinners or the cost/benefit of eating in restaurants.

Casinos are in business to lose money.
People who win a lot get free stuff to encourage them to come back and win even more.

Yeah, but they always brag about comped stuff. That way it makes them feel better about their losses.

LMAO! Yeah right. It's the opposite. If you win a lot they don't want you back.

Only if it is bodybuilding related. In their case we're discussing chest development. The shoes they wear during their over head presses could have impacted their chests. Bodybuilding related.

That yellow asics is awesome looking.
I went to buy a pair of Olukais but then found out they were made in China, so I looked for an American shoe....found this company called Psudo, founded by some college students.
I like them for a casual shoe. Feels like the shoe was made from two pieces total. The laces are actually fake and drawn on, but nobody notices. Kind of funny.

Maybe you should post in threads that you have experience in. I don’t know… maybe ones about Ovaltine or how to get around the nursing home Net Nanny filter.

wait until you spar and accidentally whack your shin with someone elses shin
We use shin pads for sparring so the tough bit was conditioning the quads and calfs. They felt like they were going to fall off the first few times they got kicked, but gradually been getting less sensitive.
