According to legal documents, dancers Arianna Davis, Crystal Williams, and Noelle Rodriguez accused Lizzo (real name Melissa Viviane Jefferson) and her company Big Grrrl Big Touring, Inc. (BGBT) of subjecting them to sexual, religious, and racial harassment, disability discrimination, assault, and false imprisonment, among other allegations.
The dancers are taking action against Shirlene Quigley, the leader of Lizzo’s dance team, as well. In a press release, the women’s attorney, Zambrano, said: "The stunning nature of how Lizzo and her management team treated their performers seems to go against everything Lizzo stands for publicly, while privately she weight-shames her dancers and demeans them in ways that are not only illegal but absolutely demoralizing."

I have tried to visit my older brother in Oregon a few times but the distance and subsequent stress was deemed too great by my physicians. Though my doctors denied me travel via air or even driving , I will be doing my best to visit one of my brothers and his wife in Tucson. I need to see family before I get worse. His wife is an ICU RN and the last time I visited I had to stay a few extra days due to my condition worsening. It is embarrassing for me to be seen like this, I can assure you. But I know there are many that are far worse off than I and that is humbling.
They were kind enough not to "notice" but upon my return home my brother called and said they were both worried and that I did indeed look very bad. I do not accept this fate but still I must see as many family as possible. I was forbidden to to see my younger sister too as the distance was over 2,000 miles. So I sent her something useful (unlike me, LOL!) in my place.
If I cannot come to meet you, I will let you know. I need to see Coach and chaos too. They are good men and true friends to one another and me. I have left messages from other family members, voice and email. Thank you.

Met her once in New York City through a mutual friend that is a publicist. My friend held a party at his humble NYC SOHO loft and invited many of his celebrity friends at the time and, of course, a decent group of his fellow childhood friends (like me).
Ironically, I met Lizzo at that party while looking through a gorgeous display of Hors d'oeuvres and when reaching for the last couple of cheese croustades, a rather large shadow loomed over me when I heard, "I'm finna grab this, thank you poppa".
I looked behind me and said, "Oh, I was reaching for these last two as they looked delicious". She replied with, "I know, I had meant to pick them up a moment ago but called them as mine". I smiled and said, "enjoy them". She said, "Oh, I will".
That's when I knew she was special.

Concur. I did not own any of her albums, but I did really like her "Put your records on" song as it had the same vocalist feel to that of artists from the 1970s. She just had a beautiful tone to her voice, reminded me of artists like Etta James or even Tammi Terrell.
