And his 880 "speed rep" was ridiculous...

This wrapped deadlifting must be stopped.
I realize it is allowed in Strongman but it's bullsh*t.

i'm fine with it if it is always refered to as a strong man deadlift, not an actual deadlift.

Thats right... Different sport, different rules... Is what it is... They just want the biggest poundage's lifted, period.
Dont get me wrong, 70's/80's vintage RAW powerlifting is my favorite genre of the iron game.
(No, "nude men in thongs or sandals" is not).
But Strongman is a close second, and they've always had gadgets, contraptions and giant poundages.
It does give advantge to a few with piss-poor grip (Kearney, etc) who just so happens to be an amazing deadlifter in-straps/wraps...

They have plenty of grip-strength related lifts and contests.

You are right. I just don't like seing DL competitors using straps, but as you said, different sport, different rules.

also the bar is to the knees before the weights leave the floor.
truly makes it a partial. i remember Kaz deadlifting 800+ and the weights were 2 and a half feet off the ground at completion.

The elephant bar is even worse, longer, bigger bend.
But again, the weight these people are locking out is insane, no matter the "help"...
I do admit, IM not really a fan of the "hitch". Kearney made it part of his actual DL form for everything.
Keeps him in the running a lot, where in PL he would bomb out earlier...
