I don't watch MLB so I didn't really know who Trever Bauer was and didn't follow his case. This is some stunning stuff. How they are not prosecuting that woman for falsely accusing him of rape is beyond me.
Trevor Bauer reveals texts, bed video as he and accuser settle lawsuits

Former MLB pitcher Trevor Bauer and Lindsey Hill settled their lawsuits Monday without any money getting exchanged between the two sides, according to a video Bauer posted to X, formerly known as Twitter, and an interview Hill did with The Washington Post.
Hill’s insurance company agreed to pay her $300,000, and her attorney, Bryan Freedman, told TMZ that Hill “looks forward to helping others” now that the litigation has ended.
Hill told The Washington Post that her claims never revolved around money, which Bauer alleged in his defamation lawsuit and continued to allege in his video Tuesday.
“I can’t stop Trevor Bauer ever,” Hill told the outlet. “But if I make him think twice before doing that again, it’s totally worth it.”
His attorneys, Jon Fetterolf and Shawn Holley, said in a statement that Bauer wants to “focus completely on baseball” moving forward.
In his nearly four-minute video, Bauer revealed alleged messages and an alleged video from the morning after one of his sexual encounters with Hill, which came to light in September 2022 and depicts Hill laying in bed next to a sleeping Bauer and appearing to smirk without any of the alleged injuries.
One message that Bauer included in the video — claiming that Hill tried to frame him for money — alleged that Hill texted an unknown person his “Net worth is 51 mil,” to which the person allegedly replied, “b–ch, you better secure the bag.”
Bauer said the video “paints a pretty clear picture of what actually happened the evening of May 15th.”
“Now over the last two years, I’ve been forced to defend my integrity and my reputation in a very public setting, but hopefully this is the last time I have to do so, as I’d prefer to just remain focused on doing my job, winning baseball games and entertaining fans around the world,” Bauer said to conclude his video. “So today I’m happy to be moving on with my life.”
The allegation first emerged in June 2021, when Bauer was accused of sexual assault and Hill attempted to get a restraining order against Bauer following their two in-person sexual encounters.
The allegations included claims that Bauer had punched and choked Hill during their sexual encounter.
Although Bauer confirmed publicly that he and Hill engaged in consensual rough sex, he denied several of Hill’s specific claims and stated that not everything Hill claimed even occurred, including that he never punched Hill.
Then, in April 2022, Bauer sued Hill for defamation while filing lawsuits against The Athletic, former writer Molly Knight and Deadspin.
Hill responded by countersuing Bauer for sexual assault.
In his statement, Bauer referenced the judge’s decision to deny the restraining order sought by Hill in August 2021, which he called an “extremely rare” instance.
“Quite frankly, regardless of the outcome in court, I’ve paid significantly more in legal fees than Lindsey Hill could ever pay me in her entire life, and I knew that would be the case going in,” Bauer said in his video. “But the lawsuit was never about the money for me. It was the only way for me to obtain critical information to clear my name.”
During the litigation process and league investigation, Bauer was suspended 324 games by MLB, though that was eventually reduced to 194 games by an arbitrator.
The Dodgers opted to part ways with Bauer in January, saying that the former Cy Young pitcher wouldn’t be a part of their organization moving forward, and that aligned with what the Los Angeles Times reported in 2021: that Bauer was viewed as a “pariah” in the clubhouse, and someone his Dodgers teammates at the time no longer wanted to play alongside.
Bauer remained unsigned, and he decided to pitch overseas in Japan this year.

Good point about him becoming toxic like Kaepernick if he sues MLB or the Dodgers. Not comparing the underlying situations, because Kaepernick is a tool and Bauer was clearly railroaded, but just the act of being adversarial with the people you want to work for is not a good look.

I don't about most, but I know it's not a small number. I first looked into that when Kobe Bryant was falsely accused of rape by Kate Faber.

I don't remember this story. The false rape allegation ruined his life. He went from being potentially the first overall pick in the draft, to not getting drafted at all, to becoming a journeyman.

Eric Swalwell was the frontrunner for California governor on Thursday. By Friday night, his campaign chair had resigned, his fundraising page was dead, Adam Schiff was pretending they'd never met, and Nancy Pelosi was speaking about him in the past tense.
The man went from "party standard-bearer" to "we don't know who this guy is" faster than a Snapchat message disappearing from his phone.
The official story is that multiple women came forward with serious allegations and the party responded swiftly. Which, sure, okay. Except "swiftly" undersells it.
Because the demon-rat party's reaction looked like detonating a controlled demolition they'd already wired.
Every endorsement pulled in the same news cycle. Every statement using the same language. Every union, every ally, every surrogate, all reading from the same script that apparently materialized from thin air on a Friday afternoon.
You know what's funny? When Tara Reade accused Joe Biden of the same thing, the entire Democratic apparatus spent months explaining why believing women is more nuanced than it sounds. Biden stayed in. Won the nomination. Won the presidency.
Why? Because Biden was an useful idiot.
Swalwell was not useful. Swalwell was a problem. Eight Democrats splitting the vote in California's top-two primary means two Republicans could lock Democrats out of the general. Steve Hilton is polling at 22%. The math was bad. Swalwel was told to leave. He said no. And then, by extraordinary coincidence, every institutional support system in his political life collapsed simultaneously.

Since the blue party does not have voters, it must rely on a plan. And if you happen to be standing where the plan needs to go, they will move you. The allegations might be true. They might not be. It doesn't matter!

New Accuser Alleges Eric Swalwell Drugged and Raped Her

A woman named Lonna Drewes accused Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-CA) of drugging and raping her during a press conference in Los Angeles on Tuesday, adding to the weighty allegations of sexual misconduct against the California Democrat.
Drewes told reporters she met Swalwell in 2018 while working as a model in Beverly Hills. She said she owned a “fashion software company” at the time and that Swalwell offered to help her with connections.
Drewes said they met two times socially and that she believed “he was my friend.” On the third occasion, she said he sexually assaulted her in a hotel room.
“I believe he drugged my drink,” Drewes said. “I only had one glass of wine. We were supposed to go to a political event and he said he needed to get paperwork from his hotel room. When I arrived at his hotel room I was already incapacitated and couldn’t move my arms or my body.”
She continued, “He raped me and he choked me. And while he was choking me I lost consciousness and I thought I died.”
Drewes said she did not undergo a rape kit after the alleged assault, but that she disclosed it to the people closest to her. She said she documented the effects of the rape in a journal and discussed it with sexual assault therapy group in Connecticut.
The Oregon native said she knew Swalwell was married and had a pregnant wife at the time, and that she also had a boyfriend — two reasons why she said she would never consensually sleep with the lawmaker. Drewes said the alleged rape wrecked her life.
“It had a profound impact on my mental health. I self-medicated in an unhealthy way,” Drewes said. “I did not want to live anymore. I cried all the time for years.”
Drewes told reporters she will be filing a report on the alleged rape with police “shortly” after the press conference.
Her press conference comes after another woman who was a former staffer accused Swalwell of raping her twice in a report from the San Francisco Chronicle on April 10. The woman in the Chronicle report said Swalwell raped her in 2019 and later in 2024 in a New York City hotel room. The Manhattan Defense Attorney’s office announced on April 11 it was launching an investigation into the alleged NYC assault.
Several other women accused Swalwell of sexual misconduct in a CNN report on April 10. CNN anchor Pamela Brown interviewed one of those women on Tuesday, with the woman claiming Swalwell sent her unsolicited pictures of his genitals.
Drewes was flanked by her attorney Lisa Bloom while speaking to reporters on Tuesday.
Swalwell announced on Monday night he was resigning from Congress following the accusations. He also ditched his campaign to succeed Gavin Newsom (D) as California’s next governor. Swalwell has denied any wrongdoing.
