I do deadlifts all the time for my calves......crunches,chins,squats,and wrist curls, also build huge diamond shaped calves ! ;D

My back is fine you guy keep showing pics of me crunching my abs in a front double bicep and then claim I have no lats meanwhile you can't flare your lats and crunch the abs its either flare with vacuum or crunch my abs look better crunched. From the back my back is fine I have a good taper. If you feel otherwise by all means post a back we both know mine is better than yours.

I know my calves get pumped and grow from squats same with deadlifts I can feel both those exercises in my calves the weight is being supported by your godamn legs your calves are part of your legs when I squat my calves absolutely get a pump. I am wondering if it is because he is doing a powerlifting style squat and not going low enough? Low squats pump calves

In powerlifting the lifter is required to break parallel to establish a good lift........if he went any lower it would be ass to the grass and totally unnecessary.
For the amount of stress squats might put on your calves,the results would be negligible......direct calf exercises build calves......other things like sprints,running, and walking stress them also, but you are squatting wrong if squats are building your calves.
