pretty standard in the UK to get arrested and released in a case like this.  At school a friend of mine mowed down a drunk guy who ran out from behind a car, he got arrested for manslaughter too

My dad's school friend was arrested charged and convicted of murdering a scumbag burglar.
Those in the UK may remember Tony Martin.

1 Was he going for a knee and forgot he was skating on sharp knives?

2 Was he jackknifed when the other player undercut him?

I was thinking head trauma before I saw the video.

Yep the farmer.
It really boggles the mind someone in their own home minding their own business, that obviously wasn't setting out to commit a crime can be punished for protecting themselves or their property.
If they'd stayed away nothing would have happened.
