CNN legal analyst Elie Honig said that the cross-examination of adult film actress and Trump trial witness Stormy Daniels after her testimony against former President Trump was a disaster.
While Honig said that Daniels' testimony about a sexual encounter with Trump in a hotel room in 2006 was "plausible," her responses under cross-examination by Trump's team called her credibility into question.
"Her responses were disastrous," Honig said, referring to the moment when Daniels admitted that she hates Trump.
That’s a big deal," Honig said.
Trump has pleaded not guilty to 34 counts of falsifying business records in the first degree. The charges stem from a years-long investigation by the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office. The charges are related to alleged payments made ahead of the 2016 presidential election to silence Daniels about an alleged 2006 extramarital affair with Trump.
"When the witness hates the person whose liberty is at stake, that’s a big d--- deal!" Honig said. "And she’s putting out tweets, fantasizing about him being in jail. That really undermines the credibility."
Daniels has made multiple posts about Trump on social media, including writing that she "will go to jail" before she has to "pay a penny" to Trump.
"The fact that she owes him $500,000 by order of a court, owes Donald Trump a half million dollars, and said, ‘I will never pay him. I will defy a court order,’ the defense is gonna say, ‘She’s willing to defy a court order. She’s not willing to respect an order from a judge. Why is she gonna respect this oath she took?’ So, I thought it went quite poorly on cross-exam," the analyst said.

In response to the Trump team’s push for a mistrial, New York State Supreme Court Justice Juan Merchan criticized Trump lawyer Susan Necheles for not objecting more during Stormy Daniels’s testimony.
He said there were “many times when Ms. Necheles could have objected” but didn’t, and said there was “no objection to certain testimony” that the defense later used for a motion for a mistrial.
Merchan cited as an example testimony from the adult-film actress that Trump did not use a condom during their purported 2006 sexual encounter, which Trump says did not happen.
“I wish those questions hadn’t been asked,” Merchan said. “But for the life of me I don’t know why Ms. Necheles didn’t object.”
“Why on earth she wouldn’t object to the mention of a condom I don’t understand,” he added.

Dershowitz was also part of OJ Simpson's defense team in 1995 and Harvey Weinstein's defense in 2018. Then he defended Trump in during his impeachment trial. The man is 86-years-old. He earned his Harvard law degree 62 years ago and has since represented various sides of multiple legal issues. Lawyers gotta lawyer. Celebrity lawyers, like Dershowitz, even more so if they want to stay relevant.

So once again you have an uninformed opinion. He is one of the last honest liberals in public life. Definitely passes the "shoe on the other foot" test. I don't agree with everything he says, but one thing I never have to worry about is him being intellectually dishonest. That's why you don't like him.

I posted this to show how you dismiss anyone's opinion that conflicts with your world view, even when you don't have an informed opinion about the person.
I don't really have heroes, but in general I really admire people who put themselves in harm's way to serve their country or community. Which has nothing to do with the fact this persecution of Trump is the worst instance of a due process violation that I've ever seen.

And the certainly did not provide anything that shows Trump specifically directed the accounting treatment for the payment.

Given the conflict issue involving his daughter, the unconstitutional gag order against Trump but not Cohen, and allowing the prosecution to proceed without identifying the actual crime, I doubt he cares about his reputation. And is his reputation really going to be harmed when he surrounded by people with TDS who agree with that he is doing?
I think Bragg should be toast, but he's still likely to get a conviction IMO. He will be a hero in New York.
