Title: Gold's Gym Reseda - A Visit Back to 1986

Narrator shows some old footage inside the gym...
Better days for sure.

We take a trip back to Gold’s Gym Reseda, located at 18323 Sherman Way.  It was the only Gold’s Gym in the valley at the time, and it was open twenty-four hours.  It’s also where many of the biggest and well-known bodybuilders and wrestlers worked out in the 1980’s, allowing them to slip away from the craziness of Venice Beach to enjoy a more meditative and peaceful workout.  Here is some footage I shot of my friends doing a late night workout there on February 21st, 1986.

Back in 1979, that is all we had at the school was a Universal machine.
I had a small basement gym as well (only two 110 lb. sets and a bench, I was 13).

But it was great at the time. Leg press on it, etc...
We would foolishly do leg-presses before hockey practice. (Not the smartest thing to do).

Training for sports has come a long way of course since then. But yes, fun times.

I used to hit up Springfield College to train....then I joined the local "Y" which was hardcore and where I first saw Dave Mass.
