I think it’s just heating up the discs. My L5-S1 is at 3mm and it’s supposed to be 14mm or something. If imagine you compress a lot of discs and it starts to add up.

Body height can easily vary more than 1 cm or half an inch, depending on the time of day. Morning or evening.
You generally are 1 or 2 cm taller early in the morning as during sleep the pressure from gravity on your spine is reduced.

There's gotta be a list of recommendations somewhere, "how not to lose 6" of height in the gym": NO heavy standing calf raises, do them seated or on a 45°/horizontal leg press machine only! NO heavy squats, do leg presses or smith machine squats where you lean against the bar! (Dorian did not shrink.) Take caution when doing heavy shrugs and farmers walks, decompress your spine afterwards.

I measured Arnold while others are guessing when they see him standing with others. Camera angle can make a big difference. The guy in front or closer to the camera will look taller.
Kurt Marnul measured Arnold's height several times at different ages to be 6 ft 1 or 185.5 cm
So your measurement seems correct, especially as you state Arnold made himself as tall as possible, so perhaps that resultet in half an inch extra.
Anold now probably is 180 cm or 5 ft 11 due to age and loads of wear and tear because of decades of heavy lifting.
