Heavy deadlift from the ground. If I ever do it again, it will probably be the rack pull.

i found with them that the EZ Bar is the worst thing you can use ..so i switched to a Tri-bar with a parallel grip & no problems.
I think if using a straight bar a slightly wider grip is better ..look at pictures of Bill Pearl who had MASSIVE triceps, he used a wider grip.

That was my favorite tricep exercise ,at my strongest, I did with with a cambered bar with two 45 plates on each side and my arms grew half an inch while pumped I did this weight for two workouts (2 weeks) and have been suffering from bursitis tendinitis ever since to the point I can't do the damn exercise at all  ... (I'm a lifetime natty btw).

Cook, try doing 3-4 sets of triceps pressdowns for high reps (20-30),followed by the Skullcrushers.......just don`t go as heavy, higher reps, with one minutes rest between sets.....less rest makes lighter weight feel heavy really fast...............or tell me to mind my own fucking business!   LOL   ;D

There’s many that I don’t do for no other reason than time but doesn’t mean I won’t throw them in eventually. Some I wont do are:

Deadlift

Hypertension

Overhead barbell shoulder press

Dips. I can BTN and front press till the cows come home, but unless I'm super picky with the type of dip bar, they kill my shoulders.

Decline Press, never a fan, and as 38 mentioned, I don't like the head rush.

Squats. Not totally forsaken, but I go lighter, and sub in belt squats, podium deadlifts, and machines now more.

The worse for last. Push ups. Makes me feel like a pussy, but I don't like doing them without push up handles. I can set up for a bench press quicker and more comfortable that I can for push ups now. It's weird.

Bent over flies. Even light weights now make me wake up the next day feeling like I'm being knifed in my shoulder sockets

Skullcrusher after a certain weight felt like I was somehow using my lats more, very weird.

no I am always glad to get good advice from people like you.I use to do skullcrushers for powerlifting to improve my bench. They actually worked well but I was doing sets of 5 with a heavy weight for me.I will try doing them second or maybe even third in my triceps workout.Elbows feel pretty good now so maybe if I do them after already doing a couple of other exercises and use a light weight I will survive them.Great advice guys and Wes I appreciate you taking time to help me out.

I often think of exercises I've dropped for one reason or another.

Now I gotta try to find a parallel grip bar in my gym for skull crushers :D

BigRob does JM presses with insane loads and I noticed I will never get to that level :D

Dips and skull crushers, I’m sure I could ease back into them but the joints don’t care for either much anymore. I’m in better shape without them now anyways so it’s optional.

Pull up and Chins. I always felt my grip/arms giving up on them well before my lats so I dropped them.

Mentzer thought curl grip pullups or pulldowns were the greatest bicep exercise. Arthur Jones might have said it before him.

Edit. Just a set of dips and a set of curl grip pulldowns would maximize your arm size potential in 2 years. Ad only 400 hours of total training for realizing full muscular potential. He might not have been far off.

My pleasure Cook.......I too would do 5 rep heavy sets to increase benching power.................th is fucked my elbows up after a time.

When I started with the higher rep Pressdowns and went lighter on he Skulls my elbow pain was soon gone.

Van,just use 2 dumbbells if you don`t have access to a parallel grip bar.

Also with 2 dumbbells you can lower them further (right beside your ears) increasing the ROM.

Very impressive Jeff!!

I had posted a pic of the trophies I had won up to that point in time on gh15`s old board.............it`s long gone now.

I have some of my more prestigious ones in my house the others are in my barn gathering dust.

Yes I've done that, especially the way the Westside powerlifters did them. I also sometimes turn the wrist so I lower to the other shoulder. But the instability of dumbells don't feel like they allow for full power output :D

"We're not bodybuilding here!" :D

Here's how I've often done them
