Title: BENT BAR

hey i bent a stariaght bar a couple of days ago{must have dropped it on the rack too hard} it seems to be fine just tweeked a lil bit, well this effect symmetry?? should i get a new one?

depends what you're doing.  it might be harder to balance.  anyway, when you get a new one just buy one made from harder steel.

Lot of guy's use a bent bar on purpose when doing squats. Some are referred to as a Squat Bar. Seem's they have a better fit/feel around the shoulders/traps/neck when heavy squating. After a while, with heavy use and massive weight, the bar will have a bend in the center gripping. Can also buy a crimpt lifting bar. From personal experience; they do work quite well. When doing benching a bar like the above could be used but for most people a straight bar is a better choice. That would include when doing rows, presses, etc.

May want to invest in a regular straight bar and use the bent one for squating. Though if your bent that bar so easily than look for a better grade steel. The Olympic bars from China & India are not all that well made and do tend to bend quite often. Good Luck.

Side Bar: We have a old 9ft Olympic bar(s) that has been around for years. It holds way over a thousand or more lbs (with hanging extra plates on like a christmas tree). One of the best bar's I've ever used. Believe it was made in either Sweden or Finland.
