Seems like Vince was quite he asshole.

Dorian Yates would have gotten along with Vince Gironda. He would’ve fit in at Vince’s gym because Dorian had quit doing barbell squats and flat bench presses.
And Dorian didn’t talk too much. Dorian would not have lingered in the gym after training either.

Thanks Wes - haven't watched it yet but will after I've typed this
Since this thread will attract old farts I will say this - after my first proper 'bulk' (smh) I started my first 'cut' (oh brother) and decided to focus in on form to 'shape the muscles' (please kill me now :-[)
As I recall, this basically meant moving from Flex articles to MuscleMag ones LOL ;D
During this time I bought some of those non-parallel dip bars and forced myself to learn that knuckles-in flared elbow style from one of his articles - grew to love it. I also started using a specific decline style that somehow made my whole chest sore afterwards... so I did enjoy some of his specifics

Would love to go back in time to Vince’s gym.
Desiccated liver tabs and amino acid pills by the scoopful, Rheo Blair blending up shakes at the counter, and pumping up the chest and back with some guillotine presses and sternum chins.

"You look like a fat fuck to me" - Vince to Arnold, supposedly
Who thinks Vince consciously trained in a way so he would have zero upper pecs?
It's all about sculpting your body like an art piece

"You look like absolute shit with that big belly" as I imagine Vince would have spoken to Mr Yates

I used to do benches and declines to the throat......pretty effecttive, but you can`t use a lot of weight.....never did get the hang of those Gironda Dips though.
