you know just because some things where done in past times a long time ago doesn't mean they are bad necessarily. Same as all progressive/liberal things we see are not automatically good/better/improvement from how things where done in past times.

I know quite a few. 40s-50s and act like teenagers. They have no ability to compromise and opt out of anything that isn't what they want to do.
Women's careers drove women to chase money just like men do. Now, they all want top 10% of men or nothing. birth rates fall.
You can see how futuristic movies have govts controlling births. At some point being a parent and raising kids created by agencies becomes a career. Not exactly the dumbest idea.

Every tent clad Somali here has four or five little chocolates in tow, and these women will never work a day in their lives. They actually get more money than a person working a 'regular' job, so why even work, they'd lose money.
Ice people plan ahead. But I'm not sure it's all down to affordability, there's other factors like careers too. Even 'moral' considerations like "there's too many people on the planet already" or " I don't want to bring kids into this world" and so on (let's import refugees instead).

your link to costs/economy and low birth rates fails as the African continent is the fastest growing continent today in population birth rates. Africa/the african continens birth rate is 4.1, and they are the poorest continent by far.
Tech is very much a factor in intersexual dynamics as close to 50% of all couples meet online today in the west i.e. EU/North America/AUS and also in Asian westernized nations. Like China, South Korea, Japan where tech is on level with the west.

There was a period of time where young men were afraid to much in terms of approaching women, due to the overcorrection of metoo (yes I think a correction was needed but it got stupid - remember the video of having to ask for consent with every subsequent step in hooking up, etc?)
The recording of everything is the same. In the past, kids could be more free to do shit - go out on the dance floor and be a jackass, mingle etc.....everything potentially being on film hinders that.
In addition, so many workplace hookups happened, and led to families. I think the new office environments are hindering that as well.
Not saying affordability isn't a factor for some and was not claiming to know the data "real reason" down to the person. I was just adding to jeff's post, which I agreed with.
