I have a very negative view of the future due to things like mass migration, offshoring of lucrative jobs to low cost countries, manufacturing jobs being killed off and moved to China, advancements in artificial intelligence, automation and robotics, hyperinflation due to questionable monetary policy, plummeting fertility rates in white people, rise of totalitarian government in the free world, and all the rest of it.
I'm hoping some of you gentlemen can share me some of the things that give you hope in the future.

Can't have a positive outlook unless you're insane.
There will be no winners except the nepotistic / corrupt / rich. The rest of society will rot away.
Notable exception - high performance, well educated, academic worker bees and clever smaller scale criminals who are able to successfully use digital money... both will be a minority relative to the total population.

Fuck, so it's true. The end is near. But I feel like doctors or lawyers still have a future for the time being. That doesn't really help me though, since I doubt I was ever smart enough for either, and in any case I am 20 years too late.

I envy Brian for being so optimistic and seemingly having inherited a fortune. But he's like 60 years old so I still wouldn't trade places.

I believe in two big issues/problems, world changing slow events: aging of the demographics of relevant countries (China, South Korea, and so on), as in lack of newborns, and artificial inteligence eliminating millions of jobs. Plus the curent state of affairs, regarding the importation of tribal people to the civilized world.

Even though your destiny is determined, you would want to make smart, well thought out decisions to avoid immediate harm/trouble to yourself/others. Just because your life may be messed up, doesn't mean you should throw caution to the wind and endanger others.
Someone who drinks and drives would be an example. If someone thinks there is nothing left in life for them, because of destiny, and then decided to just get drunk and drive home, because there's nothing left to live for, this would endanger others. And this would not be a smart, well thought out decision.
Jess, just because you think your destiny is set, this doesn't mean you should keep living the way that you have been recently. I think that you should try to clean up your life. Find a way to stop living in your car, get off of the methadone, and maybe make amends with all the people that were hurt by your past decisions. Don't be ashamed to ask for help. There are public resources available for people like you. But don't ask me for help, though. I don't help people who are able bodied, yet don't want to help themselves.

That's the whole point of it being fucking determined by something else, cock breath. I am optimistic.
At no other time in humanity have the people
Of earth as an aggregate been healthier (antibiotics, vaccines, available food and care), educated (the mobility of capital has ensured enough wealth sharing to fund education and growth for people who 100 years ago would have had no chance achieving). Child slavery and labor is all but dead vs even 100 years ago. Wars and pandemics on a per capita basis don’t decimate humanity to the extent they did.
We are closer to understanding the quantum and galactic level scales of the universe than ever before. It’s easy to be scared of AI but it’s much more likely to improve humanity than destroy it.
It’s even likely that if you’re Fermi paradox nerd, that we are likely beyond the gating event for intelligent life (finding intelligent life is far worse for humanity’s future than not finding it, at this point in our species history).
I do remain disappointed in CBS refusing to air footage of the 1980 Olympia.
