Title: rhabdomyolysis
Post by: Donny on October 22, 2026, 03:35:23 AM
I´ve read about this before & because of the nature of hard Bodybuilding training (training to failure)..toxins can be released into the Liver.

https://my.clevelandclinic.org/health/diseases/21184-rhabdomyolysis

High-intensity exercise: Jumping into an exercise program too fast can lead to rhabdomyolysis when your muscles don’t have time to heal after an intense workout.

It's happened to quite a few well known people in the fitness space. Mark Bell immediately comes to mind. Could permanently damage your kidneys.

I had wondered if you could take some drugs to lessen the risk, perhaps things like insulin and antioxidants or whatever. Obviously you wouldn't do insane workouts in the first place, but if you did anyway...

I've asked people around me if they knew what rhabo even was and they didn't, never heard of it, but it's not completely uncommon. People don't know that doing crazy workouts could make your kidneys fail. Beginners jumping into a hard routine but it also happens to elite athletes. I've seen several cases on the forums and how they are monitored afterwards and how some have incurred permanent kidney damage. It's a medical emergency.

Maybe Nick Walker should scale back his training intensity so he will be healthy enough to defend and lose his title in 2027.

A person has to be stupid to go that far. Dana Linn Bailey got rhabdo a few years ago.

It became prominent early on in CrossFit. People were going to the hospital all the time for it. Strength conditioning Coach University of Oregon sent half the team the hospital because of his idiotic training for rhabdo. The bodybuilding community evolves slowly. like a snails pace when it comes to training of any type of scientific research. That’s where strength conditioning coaches come in.

If you type "f-a-3-g$-t" into Getbig it comes out as "homo".

I find that very insulting to the homos on Getbig
Doesn't the forum know "f-a-3-g$-t means " bundle of sticks"?

You don't Squat so I doubt leg extensions will bring you into the condition
Remember it's balls to walls ..not maintaining or trying to hold onto what you've got.

Sounds like a condition for the smaller guys.
