After I get done training tonight, I'll have dinner at home in the company of one of my gym's newer young fitness bunnies. I don't know what she'll want to eat, but I'll likely start off with four ounces of fresh gulf shrimp swimming in cocktail sauce, lemon juice and Tabasco sauce.
Then I'll have a Chef's salad fit for a king, with everything but the kitchen sink thrown in (croutons, onions, bacon bits, sliced ham, olives, tomatoes, etc) and topped with a generous portion of red wine vinaigrette dressing.
Finally, I'll sink my teeth into an incredible twelve ounce Fillet Mignon (medium rare of course - cooking it any more should be grounds for beheading IMO) topped with a couple of ounces of Alaskan King Crab lump crabmeat, with a bit of au jus on the side; a huge potato boiled in salt water and topped with a couple of tablespoons each of real butter and sour cream, and large fistfull each of bacon bits and shredded cheddar cheese.
During the course of this gluttonous feast I'll also indulge myself in a couple of glasses of hearty burgundy. I'll finish off with a small portion of one of my favorite desserts - such as cheesecake topped with blueberries, cherries, or crumbled peanutbutter cups.
Afterward, hopefully the young lady will be charmed enough by my indulgences in her to retire with me for the evening to my spacious master bedroom suite and provide me with a night of cheap, meaningless, mindblowing sexual escapades.

I am keeping my carbs as low as possible especially at night. I have some for breakfast and lunch but that really about it. Yesterday I had 36 carbs for the whole day. I have plenty on reserve. I have allot to lose. I get a little tired as the day goes but feel fine.

i do eat five times per day, i usually don't eat that much steak or any meat for that matter, FYI it doesn't matter how many times per day you eat as long as you get the calories and protein you need, the 5 or 6 meals a day bullshit is a falacy.

Not really sarcasm. Eating only 3 or 4 times a day taking in 100g of protein at each meal isn't gonna help you. Your body can only digest a certain amount of protein per serving and the rest just goes to waste. So if your body can only absorb 50g of protein a sitting and you ate 100g at each of the 4 meals, you really only got 200g of protein that day which is not sufficent (while thinking you got 400g).

Sarcasm is correct. Meal frequency is a fallacy. The only indication were deleterious effects may be seen is in the case of only one meal a day (most likely if had at night) as it may alter leptin dynamics and the neuroendocrine access. Even that has not been definitively demonstrated.

that is why you will never get cut----you will never speed your metabolism up enough to get cut by only eating 3 times a day---if you want to get cut and hold on to as much muscle you can then it matters alot how many times you eat a day--dont you know anything about blood sugar and insulin etc...

as for the meals per day...the "only" difference i see is that even if i take in the same amount of calories with 3 or 6 meals, i always feel hungry when i eat 6 times a day.
so...i eat 4 to compromise.
then again, i'm a fatbody.

thats never been proven, its just a bodybuilding myth arnold started spreading 40 yrs ago!
ive experimented with this for 20 yrs and realized it was a total crock because i grow exactly the same if i eat 200 grams of protien once day or spread through 6 meals!
jeez what a waste of time making sure i was home to get all those meals in!

what i can remember eating today:
protein shake
pasta with sauce and artichokes
pear
a small pastry
half of a ham sandwich
big glass of milk (mixed with instant coffee and splenda)
chicken sandwich
bowl of ice cream
3-4 nutrigrain bars
another small bowl of ice cream
another half of a ham sandwich
glass of milk
banana
I may have missed something. The objective here is to keep a positive nitrogen balance and eat things that taste good. That's key!

I think Laura is right on the money from the perspective of a natural athlete. If you're shooting the kitchen sink in your ass, obviously you can metabolize much more protein and calories.

I woke up and had a big mac that I didnt eat when I was beasting around 1 am, so that gave my Metabolism a jump, then I washed that down with Mountain Dew...Do the Dew.. came to work and had a Bagel with Cream Cheese, some one brought a chocolate bunny in from Easter so I ate its head. Um for lunch I went Lee Preist and had KFC , with Mash Potatoes..high in Glycemic Index type... then as a snack I destroyed some Airheads and finished it off with a seven layer bar from starbucks and a coffee. When I go home I get two double cheese burgers and a milkshake. Milk has protein so that will be the protein shake. Im too tired to go to the gym, I already went on Thursday last week . So Ill order Pizza and get a six pack of Sam Adams Cream Stout.
The Diet has cause great improvement in my lines and the muscles are really starting to show !!!

no offense Cheri but you're just blindly believing what all the muscle magazines say regarding how much protein can be utilized, who's to say how much protein is "utilized" and how much isn't, look at it this way how many times have you gone out and had a one or one and a half pound steak at a restaurant i know i've done it hundreds of times, i didn't get diahhrea so it must have been used and thats over a hundred grams, the human body can digest a lot more than 50 grams of protein at a time.

I'm not going to go into the science because this is not that type of board but what I said is scientifically correct.
If you feel like you're going to "cave in someones head with a shovel" by only eating 3 times a day is beside the point. All things being equal, eating 3-4 times a day or spreading it out over 6-8-10 meals, or whatever, is not going to make any difference physiologically in the end.
BTW, Vince Taylor says he only eats 1-3 times a day and it obviously works for him. I remember Craig Titus saying he could only eat 4 times a day MAX or else his meals would be more like snacks. Spread it out over as many meals as you like best but in the end total calorie and nutrient intake over the day is what really matters.

I believe the body adapts to whatever feeding peroids you impose as long as it isn't extreme. We wouldn't of made it as a species if it didn't.

a mix of whole wheat cereals basically churned by my spoon and downed
rice cottage cheese and tuna all mixed up
a protein shake
a chicken sandwich
a protein shake
an avocado sandwich
a couple of biscuits
this is a terrible day for dieting for me.. but i just cbf!
i dont feel bad tho..
