Title: Branch Warren's Transformation
Post by: Ex Coelis on May 09, 2006, 04:46:41 PM
Its amazing to consider how far Branch Warren has come. He started out as a light heavyweight that few expected to make an impact on a pro stage. Years of balls to the wall workouts and two serious muscle tears later, Branch is now an established big-name in the IFBB. From obscurity to prominance the future looks favourable for one of my favourites, Branch Warren.

I just wish his dvd would drop - he said in his column that because of some BS negotiations, they may have to re-record the entire thing . . .

Don't forget this one.  :D

By the way, what happened to his buddy, Jay Moore?  Weren't they on the same path at one time?  Back in the day Jay and Branch had pretty much the same physiques.  Was Jay not hungry enough?  Not willing to juice enough?  Not a maniac in the gym?  ???

If only Branch could build up his branches to match his trunk without tearing something!  8)

Jay underwent knee surgery a month or two ago.

As for intensity, he was the only person Branch knows who has ever been kicked out of a Powerhouse Gym for being too intense. Hell, if you watch the Johnnie O clip in the BFTO 2004, you can see him lift some serious weight. He's a manimal

He's a manimal

I don't believe that term has been used here.

... He's a manimal

I’m embarassed to admit I used to watch that show.  :D
http://imdb.com/title/tt0085898/

But back to Jay, something is not right.  If he was a manimal in the gym, his physique did not show it.  Guess he needed a lot more injections.  Watching the career path of Branch and Jay one has to conclude that drugs make the man.  I know Jay used to go toe to toe with Branch in the gym, but they look nothing alike now.  :-\

Clearly, the man has an unreal work ethic. [Or some totally groovy drugs.] But his physique is so unaesthetic that it's uncomfortable even looking at him. Obviously, not everyone can be Flex Wheeler. But Branch looks like a Frankenstein's-monster collection of parts from several different bodies.

You don't know what you're talking about.  Here he is 2004 and 2006.  No, he's not FLEX (no one else is) but Branch's lines are very respectable... and what do you have? 15 posts?  'nuff said.  Come back when you've got some credibility.  :(

Yep. Good call, Branch has great lines.

He should grow his hair out a little, even if he's balding. It just looks better. He doesn't have the kind of head that looks good shaved.

i like BW's physique as a hard core mass freak.

watching those videos shows how his pecs overpower everything except his legs.

i saw Branch...dont train legs, calves and pecs for 6 months and just concentrate on back, bis and tris and you're golden.

But shouldn't Jay have had access to the same stuff? ???

Sure, but that doesn’t mean he was willing to do it all at the same levels.  Everyone’s risk tolerance is different.  Matarazzo pulled way back on his supplements after his near death experience.  Accordingly, his contest career soon ended.  Jay either didn’t want it badly enough or after a few unpleasant side effects decided it wasn’t worth it.

what did branch tear?

This is all memory so don’t jump on me if I’m wrong, but I seem to remember reading that he has suffered two tears, one tricep, the other I don’t remember...

Another transformation:  the first pic is from 2001 the second from 2006.  :o

I’ve seen this “prediction” a few times on the internet recently.  Why do people say stuff like that?  Claiming to predict something lots of people already believe just makes you look like an idiot.  Gee, I predict that the George Bush will still be President next week.  I predict that the sun will come up tomorrow.  I predict idiots will continue to make predictions that are self evident . . .  ::)

Why can’t these acute minds predict something of utility like who killed Natalie Holloway, winning lottery numbers,  or the date of their own demise?

he tore his bicep and his tricep on two seperate occasions. Apparently when he was a teen he never did any warm up sets. He would often jump straight into his near max. I guess you can only do that for so long . . .
