Has he came out with another True met-rx yet since selling the company???
-
Yes it is called K9Rx. It is awesome stuff for your dog.
-
He sold MetRx?
-
Oh.
I looked it up and not wonder if humans can take it?
I thought he was going to come out with a new protein since he sold met-rx,the new met-rx is NOT the same like it used to be.
-
He sold MetRx?
Yeah, and in order for the profit margins to become more productive the company skimped on the ingredients getting them from other sources, it's might be a oldie but you know what's in it.
-
Sold for $108M, correct?
-
From Past threads of Metrx
Met-Rx was sold for $105 million dollars a while back - Rexall purchased them - then Rexall was purchased by the company that purchased GNC - then they sold them to Natures Bounty - the company that owns Vitamin Shoppe. Scott Connelly only had 49% of Met-Rx when is was sold - an investment company owned the rest and sold it. Scott didn't have a choice but made 50 million out of it. Scott is doing doing very well out all now - some kind of illness - and hopefully - he will get better and out of it.
Wow I thought people knew what he is doing. Part of his sale of MetRx was that he could not be involved in the supplement industry. So he started K9Rx for dogs. It is awesome stuff. It took him more than 3 years to develop. I was selling it at my store on Oahu and every customer that bought it and feed to the dog said they loved it. It looked just like MetRx and came in packets and you mixed it with water. The dogs ate allot of it. As far as I know that is what he is still doing. I think the website is at http://www.k9rx.com
It was 108 milliion and you are not taking into account what he made from the investment company prior to the sale. Plus, he held 51% not 49% -- you don't give about half of your company away for free. Scott, sold to Rexall and they were bought by Royal Numico. Trust me on this I was there.
Scott is working on a new product for his new supplement company, which should come out soon, with new product lines. Billycarp was testing it, along with others here at Getbig.

if it's good enough for a dog it's good enough for you

Actully several guys have taken it. I was selling it out of my store on Oahu. Everybody came back and bought more. One guy came back to tell me his dog had chewed his way through the door of the closet where he was storing the K9Rx. When he woke up and saw the door all chewed apart he didn't know what happened. When he looked inside he saw every packet of K9Rx was ripped apart and all the stuff was gone. It is great to mix with dry food.

This post saved the boring thread.

Dr Scott formulates the CNP range of products - Pro-Peptide, Pro-MR, Pro-Ms, etc., and he company manufactures the range in the States, in conjunction with Kerry Kayes' CNP affiliate company in Britain.
-
original met-rx was the shit, specially when it came in the 2 containers of base and plus. i hope he comes out with a new line. please post further info when it becomes available and this was by far thee best supplement i ever use and the met-rx produced now is totall garbage
-
Yeah once people used it back then they went out and bought loads ofit to stock up, cause they noticed somuch fat loss. It was rumored for quiet awhile that there was clen in the product, since back in those days duchaines company or some other companies were actually putting trace amounts of things like that in to it's products.

My dogs won't leave me alone till I give them a little of My MRP. I hope the guy's dog didn't get kidney failure from too much protein in one shot. I have a friend who raises beagles. He's had dogs die from too much protein. They love the stuff, but take into consideration the dog's size and give the protein accordinly.
Enough said. I'll pass.

Your words, not mine.

Thanks for the info BBz, I have dogs and they go crazy when i have a protein bar ora protein drink I usually let them eat some of the bar, and lick the glass when I'm done.
I keep a big box of protein bars in the pantry and if I leave the door open they go straight for them, instead of scratching at the dog treats. Also have to be careful cause the chocolate

Vitamin Shoppe is not owned by Nature's Bounty (NBTY). NBTY owns a small chain of mall-oriented supplement stores and they own a group of GNC's in Europe. Goldman Sachs (investment company) owns Vitamin Shoppe.

Scott is a genius. He is VERY intelligent. Some close friends of mine deal with him quite often. I really hope he comes back to the industry as he can bring respect and integrity, something this industry needs. He has some AMAZING theories on protein and its consumption. I heard about some of the recent things he's talked about. I think it would be cool as shit.

I had the pleasure of meeting Dr Connelly when he came to Hawaii and did a seminar. Very eloquent speaker and very knowledgable....
One thing Ill always remember is way before the Atkins was popular or ever heard of, he spoke about an Atkins like diet which just amazed me. Now look at it...Atkins was the craze. Imagine if Connelly promoted it as his diet....
He was saying that a diet high in carbs is not the answer..he used the egyptians as a prime example of a civilization whose existance was a high carb diet but had many health problems...
In my mind..Connelly was the genius who came up with the high protein diet not Atkins...

I have my own opinion on the Billy carp fiasco and the protein magic supps.
IMO, and just in my opinion, those recovery pills were good and bad. They were terrific for recovery- I wasn't sore once for those 10 weeks. But they did cause my liver to work very hard and did have some interactions with other things. I have NO CLUE if that had anything to do with Billy Carp passing away, and it'd be irresponsible for me to speculate.
But IMO, those protein supps are just a tad too much for me to handle. They sure did work wonders with recovery and all- but... I dunno. Dr C knows his shit and I'm sure they'll be wonderful in the long run. But I get a stomachache thinking of them... :( Just my 2 cents. Dr C is a good guy and brilliant man, but this is an opinions board.

Which is why you shouldn't say anything.

Yeah, I'm going to get his book see what he all talks about I remember when Pro-Peptide came out and it was one of the first to put the acidophilus in the MRP's, makes sense he was behind that.
Here is the link to his page on his book and other info...

Your right it would be great to see him back in the business and bring back intergrity to it, all you see now is "400% greater" claims, with a doofus running the project, and collecting the money.
-
Yes it is called K9Rx. It is awesome stuff for your dog.
I came across his k9rx website before and I thought it was a joke, like someone was spoofing his met-rx stuff.

Scott is doing well and just as involved in protein research as ever. The protein "pills' that 240 is talking about are just that...protein! They had nothing to do with Billy's death or 240's liver ::) There was nothing synthetic or chemical in them. They are simply highly concentrated naturally occurring compounds found in milk. All the research we have shows that this protein dramatically increases muscle recovery, as well as some other amazing side benefits. There is more research to be done. Soon enough, the product will be available. BTW, Dr. Connelly is a regular lurker and occasional poster on here...

You and me both! They are only producing enough for the current studies. I let you know if more becomes available...you're going to need it to be competitive in the PDI!!!
