Title: The PDI and symmetry
Post by: Hedgehog on May 31, 2006, 02:16:09 PM
PDI seems to be taking a hard stance against gut monsters. Will the judging really allow symmetrical bodybuilders to win over the blocky monsters that are ruling the IFBB these days?

I'd like to see a place where guys like Dave Henry, Haider, Rockel, Horvath and Troy Alves can be successful.

If the rumours about Dave Palumbo going to the PDI are true.. That doesn't seem like an organisation that will reward symmetry. :'(

There needs to be more than just Lee Priest.

I have not heard one word about palumbo going over.  I've heard a lot of names, including some big ones.  But not a word about Palumbo.

Good thing. Having Palumbo in PDI would really be a setback to that organisation.

IMO, adding DP would be a horrible move.  Not only is Wayne signing guys with a marketing and pleasing look, but I can't seem to find a criminal record among them.   I don't know which things I heard are true and which are false, so I could be wrong on it.  But between his age, his image, his frame, and his record, my money is on Palumbo never taking a stage again.  He'll use forever, but only to look imposing in the "Expo Booth Thumbs-Up" mandatory.

For some reason, I find it somewhat amusing seeing this from someone who is bothered by peoples questions if he's on the juice. Complaining about not getting credit for all the hard work put in.

wow...people are really obsessed with that comment and missed the whole point. 1. If you do not know somebody personally then you do not asked them about commiting a felony...or ask them to help you commit a felony. 2. People assume that all you have to do is juice to look like a bodybuilder. Barry Bonds was taking a bigger cycle than most pro bodybuilders do..yet he did not look like one. Shit Lance fucking Armstrong was juicing and he's not the biggest guy around either. Steroids are a big part of professional level bodybuilding..there is no doubt about it...but you can not sit on your ass and just take juice if you want to be a champion. There is alot more to bodybuilding than just taking some shit. The single most important aspect is nutrition. Bodybuilders juice when bulking up and cutting down....so if you are just taking juice and not putting in the work or following a good nutrition plan then you will look bloated, and  puffy..not much else. I know alot of guys who juice that don't even look like they work out...and I also train a few natual competitors who look fucking jacked!

Asthetics is based alot on proportions, maybe just letting some bodyparts lag while bringing up the others.
But its hard to ask a mass freak to do it,I know that I always just trained balls to the walls and let my genetics sort it out however it wants lol.

How much you think you will weigh at the contest? 255-260?

Good luck on your show Rhino.

Yeah, about 250-255. Thats what I am doing, trianing my back and shoulders only once every 2 weeks, training my arms and legs more, you know when I am fresh, I think it is working, more pics in a couple of weeks.

thanks for the words bro, very cool...

You know whats your other option is....going balls to the walls, coming in 280 ripped and not breath for the whole show.
Kind of like Ruhl at 04 ASC,he looked amazing! He was so wide and ripped it was mind boggling.
But I dont think you shuold train less on back and especialy shoulders. Both are the base for a good taper, compare old pics of Cutler and from being blocky pro to 2nd at the olympia was mostly his shoulders and back giving him better proportions.

On the other hand...I have only seen a couple photos of you so what do I know LOL.

Good luck!

Come in at 280 lbs ripped?

How big would RHINO's gut be then?

I think he's doing the right thing. 250 lbs is very big. To bring up his arms, maybe he should drop some weight, come down to around 240 lbs.

You asume that coming at a lower body weight means less gut...wrong...and many pro's showed that over the recent years.

easily. I know many of them, and none of them are making anything, most don't even have simple supplement contracts, let alone cash.

I make cash and supplents from my sponsors as well as money for appearnces I do for them, in addition to appearances I make for seminars and guest posings.

Do you have any idea how many ifbb pros are not getting any of this?

I spoke with someone who manages one of the booth's at the arnold classic( I was paid by animal to be in the cage).. He said he had pros that were competing in the arnold classic, looking for sponsorship.....

I'm not being cocky when I say this, it's just the truth, and the pdi will open up more opportunities for the right people with the right attitudes.

The major problem with 99% of IFBB pros is that they have no creative juices and no marketing prowess at all.  When I comepted I went out and got sponsors.  I made a ton more from sponsors than from competiting.  The thing I will be helping Wayne and the PDI with will be helping and getting endorsements and sponsorships for its athletes.  That is what I know how to do and what I like to do.  Money is the name of the game and every prfessional athelte shoudl be making money, including BB's.  This will bring more athletes to the PDI and the best available ones.  It will make PDI grow and in return prize money will grow and the populartiy of BB.
