Nice shot of Arnold being plugged by Rick Wayne while preforming some head action on a smiling Franco. And that one of him being gang raped while doing donkey raises...a Kodak moment. Good Grief
The one and only Reg Park looked pretty impresssive at that time and he probably was in his mid to late forty's. One of the really big men at that time. Seems to have been forgotten now a days. Too bad.

Indeed it is. And in the pic of them hanging out in the living room, that girl next to Arnold is in fact Barbra Outland - Arnold's first serious girlfriend.

Well, TECHNICALLY it was Arnold who did the breaking up. She wanted to settle down, get married, etc. and Arnold didn't want that - at least not then. The E! True Hollywood Story of Arnold was great. Barbra Outland today talking about Arnold as well as others. Great show! 8)

MASSIVE! Arnold in 74 was untouchable. The story goes that he had not planned to compete in 1975 but only did it because of Pumping Iron. That certainly explains why he was smaller in 75. And the story goes that in 1980 he prepared for only 8 weeks after getting back in shape for Conan. In these 74' pics it's clear he ovecame his weakpoints. His legs are real big for 1970's and his delts which were always overpowered by his chest are massive. If he had enough reason to continue he would have been untouchable until the mid 80's.

when he was prepping in 75 he was actually starting from 210lbs as he lost weight to be in a movie or something along those lines (Stay Hungry possibly?) Anyway he was basically 40lbs down on his normal prep weight and had to actually gain weight instead of losing it. That is exactly why he was considerably smaller in 75

He was 210 because that's what happened to him without hormones-he had an unusually intense reaction to them.
As far as what might've happened had he stayed around, it's just speculation. There are lots of similar what-ifs from then.
What if:
-Sergio hadn't been blacklisted and had competed in '73 and '74. No doubt it was the threat of him entering those shows that drove Schwarzenegger's conditioning those years.
-Robinson, Padilla, Szkalak and Mentzer hadn't been driven out of the IFBB by suspect politics.
There are a lot of ifs, keeping in mind also that the IFBB is a commercial organization with a lot of conflicting agendas that have little to do with the best guys winning.

I get a kick out of "Stay Hungry" because in the movie...Arnold's competition in the movie was the "champ" played by Ken Waller.

I think he was awesome and had some of the freakiest bodyparts till today,but some of his off seventies photos like the one above in the hat,it is unreal that is the same bber,his chest and shoulders were droopy ,but sick when trained and sauced.

Classic Arnold, which shows his outstanding pec to delt tie-in. Even the leg balance is impressive. Though the biceps seem to dominate over the triceps. Not too many guy's can look that impressive in natural lighting (daylight) now-a-days. A lot of the older contest have the BB'ers pose under stage and daylight, catching flaws from different lighting and the affect they produced.
Arnold is coming up for re-election here and the plan is for a posedown, rather than a debate, against his democratic rival. His rival looks like a older verson of Alfred E. Neuman (What me Worry?) so Arnold may have to cut back on the carbs and up the cardio a little bit. Hope Weider is one of the judges. Good Luck.

alright...not trying to be REALLY COOL and post all the Arny pics...just have a collection from when I first got in to this stuff back in college that never get's used...look at me...finally i feel vindicated! Really though, the more I have learned about bbing over the last 7 or 8 years has gradually pulled me farther away from my original facination for Arnold.
BUT, same old song and dance...how many people you know that originally got into this scene because of this guy...so...I say hat's off to the man....he deserves my respect.

Yeah, it is. There was a period in the Early 70's where his hair was longer than usual and he didn't have his bloating problem under control...and I am pretty sure thatis when those pics are. I have a few more that don't even look like him in the face that I will have to lok for on my pc...kinda crazy.

That bottom one is crazy....when he wore his hair short like that, that was around the time I think his chest was the biggest. I know in pumping Iron there is a pic of him doing a side chest and its just REDICOLOUS!

Definately not one of his best poses, and both picture are in complete different years of his BB career....but his relaxed back...is looking dense

Anyone else think that bbers then were more in the public eye and actually made more of an attempt to be peronsalities instead of just physiques to win shows. Maybe thats why the sport has no go in mainstream. These guys just talk diet and training and getting cuts for the next show. ITs a rarity to eve catch them walking around the arnold unless they are signing autographs or promoting products. I dunno i guess to me it seemed they were more peoples people back then.
