Title: how often
Post by: texasRUSH on June 06, 2006, 05:57:47 AM
do you change up your routine?

been almost two months hitting the body parts hard once a week...

so i've grown tired of that..so now i'm hitting them twice a week...same amount of sets...just lets each day...

hoping to see some improvement.  should it be once a month? every two weeks or so?  ???

Uhhhhhh no offence bro but for someone that has good # and seems to be put together well you sure are undecided and all over the place when it comes to training, sets, routine, ect.... just let it go and feel the workout mentally. if your like me I never have a set "routine" I go with, I just have my set muscle groups to work. (chest/bi's)  ect...

change it up often...after a few weeks you should change something. sets, reps, order of exercises, etc....that is if you are bodybuilding.

Every few weeks I often  change one of the excercises in each muscle group ie seated dumbell curls i might change to cable curls, or incline barbell press ill change to dumbells.  It really keeps the muscles growing when you give some change.

I go about 3 months or until I don't see any more progress.

I'm the same as Get_Bigger.I usually will keep a program for 3 mnths.Even after that 3 mnths it's not entirely necessary to change over to a completely new program.Just changing the compound lifts/rep range etc. can bring about new muscle response to your body.

i keep the same outline, training the same body part every week but i never have the same workout 2 weeks in a row. Do what your body tells you, if your not gaining as much as you think you should be mix it up

The one mistake you should try to avoid, is the very mistake you're doing right now.. ;D

Increasing the volume when changing up routines.

Whenever you change something, you need to take away something if you add something else.

You could've just had done half the sets in the first workout, and then the other half in the second workout, in this instance.

i feel very powerful this week when i changed it up...and on my heavy days lifts seem easier...like my cable rows i have nver gone past 225 on the tower...but yesterday after a warm up and initial set i was rep'n 255...

i feel very very strong when i work each muscle group two times a week for 6-7 for major ones and 4-5 sets for the smaller groups...
