Any tips or good ideas?

What do you do for your chest now?
-
Decline Flyes.
-
Decline pulley hugs. It's like flyes but with cables and laying on the decline bench. don't do them like flyes though. pull the cables to your groin area. A Vince Gironda exercise.
-
There is something you can do that is so very easy yet is not thought of by most.Have you considered simply changing the hand spacing for your grip on the barbell if you do use barbells & not dbells? For instance instead of the reg. just past shoulder width grip, take a wide grip (outer edges of the knurled grip area on the bar). Can also be done w/dbells but you have to consciously try to force your hands in a wide arc while pressing upwards which is more difficult to achieve than w/a barbell. Also more danger involved when the weights get heavier.I myself tried this w/good results while having my hand spacing almost touching the inner collars.

how's that gonna help the lower part of your chest? i think he wants the sweep. you know what i mean?
-
Right now I've only been doing regular bench on mondays, and incline on fridays.

The wider the grip, the most the lower pec is stimulated. Narrower grips on flat bench activates the upper chest more than a wide grip.
-
i thought that affeced tricep. closer more tricep. farther less.
Why don't you the whole chest in one day? just focus on weak point
-
i have found using the hammer strength decline press one arm at a time i can really contract the lower pec area and feel the whole exercise better.
-
Yeah I like the hammer strength decline press as well.

Isn't the hammer strength already one arm at a time? Or are you talkin bout the one wit the stack?
-
wide grip dips leaning forward with legs crossed... tie on as much weight as needed, or hire a midget to go for a ride...
-
Look at Gironda's chest.
-
Never was a fan of Gironda, or his build. He had a very flat upper pecs, an no arms or much of anything for that matter. His shoulders look kinda wide, that's because he's flexing his lats. I know my shoulders look lot alot wider when I flare my lats.
No need to get offended, it's only an opinion and observation.
-
gironda was all about looking good. he could have gotten bigger but thought it would have ruined what he considered the ideal proportions because he had skinny man genetics. Here's another couple of pictures. In the 2nd pic he was 57.
-
His waist is already wide, so I guess it's a good thing he didn't get any bigger. I was really skinny as a kid, but I'm glad I have a narrow-ass waist and hips.

no its set up for both to be used or one at a time but everybody i have seen uses both arms at once, i like being able to concentrait more and work slower and controlled.

there's no such thing as a lower chest
the pec's all one muscle
-
In the older pic his waist is kinda wider but very small in the other ones.
-
If thats true, why are there so many different ways to target your lower chest? Next yr when you go to the gym look at the diagrams on the hammer machines for decline and incline.

It only looks kinda small in the first one because he's flexing his lats, so hard infact his hands are about 3 feet away from his sides. If you noticed it is not a straight on shot, he's twisting slightly which (like arnold did) gives the waist a smaller appearance and hides the true width of your hip structure. He looked incredibly good for his age though.
