Title: Training Hammies before Quads...

SO has anyone tried it? Ive read about it, doing hammies before your quads to help bring up your hamstrings..Thinking about it because my hammies seriously are dwarfed by my quads.

Any expert advice?

I do hammies agter quads...always juggling lying hamstring curls, hamstring tractor, and stiff legged deads...hig reps, lots of drops..

to be honest with you herc i've always had pretty good results for hams from going fairly deep on squats, presses and hacks and doing regular deadlifts for back but the few times i've trained hams before quads i got pretty good pumps, one thing i love to do sometimes is leg extension/lying leg curl supersets at the beginning of my leg workout as heavy as possible for 10 reps on each one, by the time i get done my legs are pumped and my heart is beating fast and i'm ready to get right into squats, try it.

This is why I train quads and hams on separate days.

Me too.  I train quads only and do hams/biceps on a separate day.

hmmm..
I go ass to the grass on all squatting movements...I just think from the side my legs lose alot, compared to how they look from the front, and the rear.
Ill try the superset today before i start squatting- I start with 5 sets of leg ext anyhow.. thanks..! 8)

i just did legs today as a matter of fact, those three supersets leave my legs pumped like you wouldn't believe, that and the two king size Snickers bars.

i did hams before quads up until this year its cool cause your quads are warmed up and they get a good workout. but both my hams and quads came up from starting to do quads first  i think you should do stiff leg deads lifts first sometimes with barbells sometimes with dumbells 5sets of them two warm ups and follow that up with one leg lying curls or two leg curls

To increase hammies I make them have thier own day...
I use to have smaller hams, but I did htis for a year and it worked.Plus it allowed me to get a bigger back, ala the Deads and Trap work on Ham day.

Plus on Quad Day, a good way to warm up the hams for squats is to superset leg extensions with lying leg curls. Do about three warmup sets then jump into squats

Day 1 Quads
Squats,Lunges,Hack,LegPress,Leg Extension
Day 2 Chest Abs
Day 3 Back (Lats Only)
Day 4 Rest
Day 5 Deadlifts, Leg Curls, Stiff Legged/Calves/traps, Abs
Day 6 Shoulders Arms
Day 7 Rest
