For me it was Don Long when he appeared for the grand opening of Gold's Gym.
-
King Kamali...
this was him at like 300 pounds...nice guy tho. although i know he's hated by many. I guess he was far from "carb depleted" so he had no reason to be edgy or mean that day...lol
-
Atwood I think.

In public: Jay Cutler. He guest posed at a Mass state championship back in the day... came out in the audience and walked up and down the aisles flexing and getting felt up.
In private: I'm not allowed to say. :-X

I was sitting in the 3rd row at
the first Mr Olympia contest. Joe Weider sat one seat away from me.
The next thing I know, this behemoth of a man squeezes into the seat between me and Weider. This guy was so huge he was incredible. He asked me in broken english if the Mr. Oympia had started. It was none other than Sergio Oliva before he really became the Myth.
For a 20 year old in 1966 it was quite a moment for me.

i met Rodney St Cloud at a porn convention in NYC of all places. it was last year on the same day as the NY Pro. he was like, "ya know there's a show today". and i was like, "...yea. it was either this or that for me". and we both laughed at how we were in a porn convention instead of looking at oiled up dudes in hteir underwear.
-
At the 1998 NOC, I met for the first time, Vince Taylor, Dorian Yates, Flex Wheeler, and Mighty Mike Quinn
-
Tom Platz!!
Was guest posing a local show..

He was doing squats... :o :o :o :o :o :o
Biggest ripped wheels i had ever seen...
-

In contest shape REAL LIFE his back is wider than Ronnie Colemans, the freakiest part were the traps from the back looking, Ronnie Coleman also looked huge first thing you see on him are his huge arms, Gunter is the largest person you will ever meet in person though, not only is he tall but no matter how much you weigh you feel like he is going to walk all over the place now wonder he smiles all the time he might have to to keep some from being to scared. Jay has the best shape offseason of all though, delts just round out and he keeps tan and fit so when you meet him fans get the real picture

Late 70's.........(a gym in Brooklyn, NY...I forget the name as they scammed everyone and closed 3 months after they opened)..............Boyer Coe & Mike Mentzer did a seminar and posed afterwards. They were both in contest shape...ripped. I still haven't seen calves like that ever again.......2 sets of them. Coe had a one of a kind shape; very unique. Mentzer was very thick w/ huge arms/long full muscle bellies.
We gave them both a hard time during the posing and yelled out "no calves"....they laughed so hard they couldn't pose.
.........very cool guys.
-
lee priest and john sherman(they were standing next to each other)
-
jay cutler and kevin levrone back in aug 2001 at a local show. me and my friend laughed in awe in how huge cutler was. we were totally shocked. kevin was in his famous offseason small look. 3 months later... jay placed 2nd at the olympia.
-
Gary Strydom in 1990 just before he started dieting for the british grand prix (he didn't do the O because it was tested).
He was MASSIVE...
Yates in 1992 two weeks after the O was the most impressive i've seen guest pose though...

No way! First of all G4P is not my thing, and I’m “safe” because I never kiss and tell. If I told, I wouldn’t get any more muscle kisses. :D

Wheeler around 97-98 all down hill from there with everyone not just him

My parents bought tickets for me to the '94 Olympia for H.S. graduation. My Dad and I went down and at the Expo, the first Pro that I ran into was Vince Taylor. He was kind, gracious and seemed truly interested in what some skinny 18-year-old had to say. He knew my trainer and sent his best.
Interesting post script to that story: 2 years later he was guest posing at the NC state championships and was working the Pinnacle booth. I walked up and before I could say anything, he said "Hey, you're Gene's (my trainer) boy!" He remembered the Olympia and asked how my Dad was.
That's the definition of professionalism. Vince is a class act.

Hey, is that Shawn Perine standing next to King ?
No it's not Shawn. Nor is it me...the guy's like in his 40's. I know he was with one of the supplement booths, probably came over to get a pic right before or after i took that one of king. Don't know the guy but i guess its good contrast to make King look bigger! haha! nah he was big tho...lol so big he charged double fee for the guest pose later on! ;)

First pro I met was the late great sonny schmidt at the sydney fitness expo. He'd just won the masters O.
A genuinely nice guy and underated competitor.
Have an autographed 8 x 10 on my wall still
-
Robby Robinson backstage at the Universe, mid-70s. The density stood out even amongst all the other competitors; just ridiculous. That he never won the Olympia's a joke; the muscles looked knotted.
Also backstage:
Roger Walker was there having won the heavyweight division-WIDE like a middle-linebacker.
Ferrigno in street clothes was the size of a refrigerator.
Schwarzenegger looking athletic & moderately big in a sports jacket, at 210 lb. without hormones.
These guys generally look far bigger in person than in pics.
-
First pro i've ever met was Nasser El Sonbaty at the Arnold classic a few year's back. He's a good guy and very personable.
-
clairmonte and schmidt in 95 guestposing....i actually spent the entire afternoon chatting to sonny because i was the only one fluent in english. He was so nice and we chatted just about everything...he was holding a steak between 2 slices of bread... and at some point gave up and ate it...lol....rip
-
Cory Everson
She's friends with a gym owner I used to work for and comes to visit occasionally.
-
paul dillett and he was a very cool guy.

Jay Cutler back in 2002 during a guest appearance at Worlds Gym in North Phoenix. It stood there frozen for 5 minutes because I couldn't believe how freaking huge he was. Top notch dude! He allowed me to follow him around the gym while he went through a Bicep & Tricept workout. Great experience.
-
I saw Mike Platz at Sound Factory in NYC with King...but this was like 5-6 years ago... not impressed to say the least...
-
I met Kevin Levrone in '92 when he guest posed for the state BB show here and his off season was only about 240 at the time.

I think it was in 87-88 when I first saw Flex as an amature in a NPC show in San Jose. I remember as they announced his name as "Flex" that people in the audience were making comments since he was average at best. Fast forward to the 88 Sacramento NPC....he literally destroyed everyone of us on stage with an entirely new body, he was amazing ! The following May he won the Cal and we all know what happened from there.

Next Pro was Achim Albrecht. Prob went about 5'8" but was thick as hell.
-
Ronnie Coleman this past November when he guest posed at the Elite...it wasn't long after the Olympia so he looked freaky still.
