Post by: Adam Empire on July 04, 2006, 03:38:41 PM
With the increased amount of these Swiss or Stability balls in the gym, I think we should have a thread devoted to them.  Here are a few uses:

lolol...
That is too funny.  I actually use the stability ball.  For lower abs, one arm cable rows, dumbbell press, stationary lunges, etc.

It may look stoopid, but it is actually hard to keep your balance and lift weights.

I'm not a personal fan of the Swiss Balls, though I am not against people using them.  But some of the $HIT I see people using them for in the gym seem a little ridiculous.  Especially when the use of them encompasses 90% of their workout.  Just seems like a more probable source of injury to me  :-\

Anyone witness any near-death experiences from someone using weights with these things ??  ;D

guy walks in with some magazine in which there was a section on stability ball exercises.... starts trying them all...... i'm pretty sure the section was for "advanced" ball users... he's never used on ebefore in his life.... so of course he bravely tries standing on it.......

fallls....

tries again....

falls...

tries again...

falls....

and these were pretty nasty falls on a wood floor.... i was standing outside the room watching..... he did a good 15 minutes of falling.... put the ball back and left... hasn't been seen ever since....

then there was a guy who tried to do dumbell presses laying on the ball.... the ball was too small and dumbells too big, on like the 4th rep he lost his balance and went flying sideways....

i'm waiting for some asshole to try squatting on a ball......
