Title: How can the PDI survive with subpar contestants?
Post by: ieffinhatecardio on July 27, 2006, 09:34:35 AM
After seeing a picture of Kamali in another thread and noticing that he's better than anyone competing in the PDI except for Lee it got me wondering how the PDI fanboys can be so optimistic.

The competition in the NOC will be terrible. If Kamali is better than all but one PDI competitor and Kamali is a fourth tier IFBB competitor how can the PDI last?

A viable bodybuilding entity can't be built and it can't thrive with competitors like Rhino and a few Russian guys.

That is a daunting problem you're facing.

By the way, excellent avatar. 240 should be proud that people enjoyed that picture so much.

Yes, his arms are very impressive although not as impressive as the gun and magazine clips full of ammo.

Any idea what kind of gun that is and how much the gun and ammo he's holding is worth?

The PDI is a joke. Well, the IFBB is a joke, which makes the PDI even less than a joke.

To compare a pic of me 17 weeks out from a show to Kamali 3 weeks out... Not really a good comparison,

keep talking about me though, I apreciate it.

I agree, it's not the best comparison but it clearly shows the quality difference.

And I know you love it when we talk about you.

You really fukked over Vinny G. though, bad move.

The Pro Division INC is dead.  Plain and simple.  Vince Taylor knows it.  Lee Priest knows it.  Unless Wayne pulls rabbits out of his ass or a Kamali or some other big name pro his attempt has failed.  Any wealthly promoter can put on a show i.e local competitions or regional.  I want the PDI to work but after this Vince Taylor controversy who knows what to believe.  If they had an official site instead of some bullshit Yahoo email account they could clear up some of this shit maybe.  Wayne ya listenin?

I said that 2 months ago, and got jumped on about a yahoo e-mail address being ok and professional.  If the money is tight...it can done in India for 30% of the US price...just watch out for junk code.

One contest does not make or break an org.   it wasn't until 1964 that the IFBB was well established.

in the amateurs we have in the US the NPC, NABBA, Musclemania, INBA, NGA, and about a dozen more.  you know the biggest guys are currently in the NPC, but that doesn't mean that NABBA should be ridiculed into oblivion.   The AAU use to be where the big boys competed, and then IFBB amateurs was 2nd rate.    Things change.  That's ok.

personally, I think I'd prefer if there were no 1st tier IFBB athletes in the NOC.  I want to see something new.  I want to see a contest where I have no idea who's going to win.

.......Saw BigAnt earlier in the week.  He's just under 220 lbs., abs & Xmas tree are in, has deep cuts
and vascularity in his legs, and his chest/arms/back/& shoulders are hard and lean.  He's looking good
and still has 8 weeks left to go!
