Title: 800lbs squat. nuthin' but a peanut......says Mr O
Post by: HUGEPECS on August 02, 2006, 10:47:56 AM
click on the play button and view this video. I dont think it's a peanut at all. C'mon, two reps are shyt heavy. 10 reps with that shyt on his back would have been nuthin' but peanut, but not 2 lonely reps

Even with 2 reps it's still impressive.  I could do without all the yelling and the "yeah buddy!" crap though.

Many people bitch about him using a suit but that suit isn't even that tight. they throw the straps over his shoulders with ease. alot of powerlifters have a very rough time doing that because the suit is so tight.

impressive any way you look at it...

I concur.

I too believe that Mr. Coleman's referring to the 800 pound weight as a "peanut" is a mental focusing technique - rather than a literal statement about the difficulty involved in squatting it.

Most people don't realize just how far down you have to go to break parallel on a squat. Here's what a real parallel squat looks like. Ronnie is strong, but I doubt he could do this.

ronnie shouts because he loves getting attention in the gym. Youll notice he always looks around to see if he is being watched by people

Sorry haters but that was easily parallel. And he could have done two more I think. So a 900 lb squat for 1 would be possible for big Ron.
Let's not forget he's a bodybuilder and not a overweight powerlifter.

That's right. He's a fat-gutted bodbuilder.

Very impressive no doubt, but Mariusz bangs out 800lbs with no suit and a flat stomach. Ronnies owned again [but by the very best]

No but His stomach is ! I'm sure Mauriz can stick his belly out like that as well. Also Mauriz, as Impressive as his physique Is, Can't hold a candle to Ronnie's. Not to mention that he trains specifically for strongman comps, Ronnie does not. How can you judge what Ronnie might be capable of If he trained specifically for that too. You Internet warriors are so pathetic that you find any way you can to bash Ronnie.
An 800 lb squat for a bodybuilder is Super - Fucking Impressive tool bags.  I am willing to bet most of you fools bashing Ronnie cannot perform a 225 lb ass to the ground squat for ten ! So get out from behind your computers. Go train, and when you can squat half as much as Ronnie and have the worlds best physique ( 9 time Mr O ) to go with It. Video tape It, and lets see what you got.

*** LOL. Never happen because you are Wannabe Internet geeks***
You know It's true..

On top of it being impressive from just a sheer weight perspective, I believe he was fairly close to contest.  Not like he was peak off season.

Anyone have a video of Mariusz squatting 800lbs.? The 800lb squat by Ronnie was impressive, but the six plate front squats he did for four reps in his Unbelievable video I thought were more impressive. And he did those with no squat suit.

Don't forget about the 7 sets he did leading up to that weight. Not to mention his soon to be 9 Mr. O titles and the fact he's 42yrs old. Just some food for thought.

No.

The lift is not parallell.

And a legit lift has to be below parallell.

Unless you think clown lifts like Vogelpohl's 1000 lbs squat are legit of course.

Side note: Coleman went deeper than Vogelpohl.

Hardly a clown lift though is it? 1000lbs is insane no matter how deep you go.

agree?

Peanut????!!! Many pro pwerlifters cannot even do one rep with that weight. Many BB only workout with small weigths, all based on juicing, and no strengh!!! Ridiculous!!! Coleman is an example of how to train, go heavy! I see some pictures of guys that stop working out and they lose EVERYTHING, guys like Coleman, Ruhl don't go down that easy because they REALLY built muscle!!!!
