1. Who do you think would be Mr. Olympia.
2. Who would shrink to oblivion?
3. Would you follow the sport more or less?
4. Would you be sad to see the drug dealing, gay for pay, recreational rampant drug use go away for good because naturals don`t have time for that shit?

Ronnie, Lee, Jay would stay pretty big but most of the others would be tiny in a few months.

Yah, The Olympia would be a hell of a lot more competitive thats for sure.
I`d even say Lee would probably win.

1) John Hansen
2) Everyone
3) Would still follow it
4) Could care less

There would be far less following. People like to see how freaky someone can get using massive amounts of drugs. Almost like a lab experiment. Take drugs out of it and there really wouldn't be much to gawk at. Plus, you'd always have people doubting that whoever on stage is actually natural.
Mr. Olympia would be 220lbs.
They would all shrink tremendously, minimum of 35lbs less come contest time and not as hard.
I would be more interested in the sport to see what people can actually do without all that shit.
It would be sad to see such a perfectly demented event become civil. After all, that's part, if not all of the fun in watching. If all goes well, by 2020 Mr. Olympia will have a 48" waist and weight 380lbs. Can't wait!
-
In all likelihood Ronnie would still be Mr. O. He had a world-class physique before he got on the gear. The guy's just a genetic mutant.
-
the 1990 Olympia is the perfect example, Haney, Labrada, Gaspari, Christian and all those guys showed up looking no bigger than most average guys in the gym when it was drug tested.
-
The guys that train heavier would continue to be bigger than the others! Those that only juice intensively but train like pussies would be even smaller than the average BB that goes hard but canīt afford $$$$ so much juice! The sport would be more interesting, given the challenge to "naturally", try to overcome growth plateaus! Some BB like Levrone or Priest (if they wanted to compete) would not survive!
-
I agree. I think it would be much more interesting to see what the natural limit, if there is one, would be for a human being to achieve. That would pretty much put an end to all the guts and many other problems associated with bodybuilding. Heck it could finally make it as an olympic sport! Can anyone say MAINSTREAM!

Isn't there already a natural league that gets dwarfed by the IFBB?

First of their isn't such thing as an all natural league. Most of them are cheaters or like Jeff Willet, use every single supplement they can find and still call themselves natural. Second the elite bodybuilders all go for the big bucks, which means mr. Olympia.

Haney was down to 235, looked really small and soft, Labrada was a little softer but still looked really good, Ray looked fantastic as did Christian, Christian looked as good as ever, I'm sure he had a way of beating the test because he was about 250 and totally ripped. Everyone else looked "ok"...I'd say the standout guys were Benfatto, Labrada and Frank hillebrand...they all looked really good.
I've got this on tape and just watched it last week while I was cleaning out the area I store the stuff in...

I hate to say it but I don't see it happening. Testing would cost too much and plus the law is on the bodybuilders side right now. How many police officers do you know that juice? I can think of many that are members at my gym. And one of them talks about it openly with me.

If it was natural it'd be even more homosexual. You can at least see the draw of looking at dudes who do horse steroids to get big but put some natural dude up there and it's gay.

hahahaha, so are you saying that instead of big dudes in pink thongs it would be average dudes in pink thongs making it all the gayer, Broad Street?

I'm assuming he's an expert in that area?

hahaha, ROFL.

I say pink thongs and thongs are banned period!

I mean think about it for a minute. Would you really feel comfortable seeing natural bbers posing and doing those dances they do nowadays. If they are natural that should be something that could be achieved naturally so there's no draw.
-

but one, two or even three years drug free is not the same as natural.
if one year drug free was the rule, then the guys who win would be the ones who juice for years and years, and then stop. kind of like what happens in Musclemania.
-
...it would be incredibly boring.
-
Ummm according to their amateur rules , they already are natural !!!! ???

Maybe....
On the other hand, it could be picked up by mainstream and be much bigger than what it is. ESPN won't show bodybuilding because of the rampant use of steroids and limits itself to the MuscleMania shows

or perhaps because the ratings suck

Well, that too. I think they should bring back the weight-lifting part of the bodybuilding show that they had back in the 40's and 50's. I'd have a much better chance.
BTW, I noticed that you posted the results of the 2004 Metrolina on the site. I'm not sure how you got the placings but that's really cool of you to do that and although my placing is atrocious, its nice to at see my name on a site that I've used for many years doing research.
The Metrolina didn't become a national qualifier until 2005 but a lot of great up and coming bodybuilders competed in that show because the show was a great warm-up for the big events

Vince, you wouldn't even win a posedown with big auntis Jemina and Letoya next door to your shanty

Any pics of that show online? I'm curious to see them.

If the IFBB went natural the bodybuilding would seise to exist. No one would waste their hard earned money to watch a bunch of soft small guys on a stage. Bodybuilding is like being in the mafia. You make a desicion knowing all the reprecussions to follow.

The IFBB has an advantage over natural organizations in that they have a long history, the best bodybuilders, and are pretty much the only show in town. If they chose to go natural (tested) and the competitors looked like they did at the '90 Olympia, I don't think that would deter fans or sponsors at all. In fact, most would see it as a step in the right direction. True, the guys in the '90 Olympia were not really naturals, but instituting enough drug testing to take the look of the sport back 20 years would be a good start.
