So whats the science with sleeping and building muscle ??
In the A&E thing done on Flex, he slept like three times a day ??
One post 'Mars' said in reference to sleep..."Overrated"....
Ive been coming home from work and sleeping 2 hours before I go to the gym each night during the week, is it better just to go to the gym straight from work do you think ?

Something like 90-99% of the growth hormone you are going to use for building muscle is released when sleeping. In addition to that, think in terms of time and energy constraints. For must of us, these are limited resources; repair takes both time and energy, both of which we use NOT sparingly when busy with the rigors of daily life.

Swedish Viking, have you ever taken Pro Hormones before ?

Mars is right, you don't need sleep, you grow/repair/recuperate all while training. ::)

I don't know about sleeping prior to training.
Cortisol levels increase when you awake, add that to the cortisol released when training for 45mins+ and it might not go down well.
Why not sleep AFTER you've trained and had a bite to eat? I'd say this is more positive.

yea, anywhere from 4-7yrs ago..leaning towards 7. I took the Nortesten, Anotesten, Muscletech stack. There was one more in there-you know those three that Muscletech first came out with.

Did you seen any noticable gains ?

People just loves the rest factor in bodybuilding because they are lazy as cock.
Same people who scream overtraining after 3 sets of benching.

good post man, I tend to get a nap after work if I have the time before hitting the weights. I get more energy.

As I have recently finished my contract at work I've slept more (I may aswell). Definitely has a positive effect. Good recovery and generally that means more weight lifted due to rested state. (Not unlike having a week off and coming back stronger).

I'm asleep right now.
That's not possible?

That's not possible?
Mars, I have attained a higher level of unconsciouness. I am able to function perfectly well, while completely asleep. Although, sometimes I veer off the road and hit pedestrians, but that's another story.

Sleeping IMO does wonders for growth. During My best growth period, I would train @ 9:00 AM, Get home and take a nap after eating and before going to work @ 3. The rejuvenation from a 2 hr nap seemed to have given me the extra boost and the body responded nicely. Usually after 6 hours sleep I wake up and that's it. No more than 6 per night, but a nap used to repair and refresh for the rest of the day. Now a 10 min nod is all I can slip in the day and it isn't enough.
