Title: Kamali, Atwood, the Olympia and gym-punks
Post by: TheEgoCrusher on August 30, 2006, 10:22:41 PM
Explain to me how in the hell a guy like Queen Kamali lands a gig writing an article for a major magazine?  What in the hell has this guy ever done?  The only other gig this guy could possibly get a contract for is to play the Michelin Man in a made for TV biography.  Does this guy not REALIZE just how bad he looks and what he's doing to his body?  How could someone actually NOT REALIZE when they've reached the point of no return, where their body just can't take it anymore?  I expect him to be marketing his own line of "Hair in a can" any day now.  It was NOT to be, sharri...

Then we've got guys like Art Atwood placing in events?!  This guys is hiding at LEAST 2 kids in that gut.  I know a Japanese man actually carried a child to term in an experiment a few years ago.  Atwood figured he'd double the guy up.  He's working on the longest pregnancy in history right now...4 years and counting.

And now, on September 30, a guy with tears on 3 parts of his body is going to win the premiere show in bodybuilding AGAIN over another guy who's going to SHAVE HIS HEAD if he loses?  Coleman is starting to remind me of the Black Knight from "Monty Python's Search for the Holy Grail" on the bridge...he's got bodyparts almost missing and is still ready to kick anyone's ass that gets on stage with him.  Is he that physically superior to everyone else, that even with tears all over him he STILL can't be beaten?

I was at the gym tonight doing cardio and abs trying to tune in for a show coming up soon and I saw the dreaded "workboot/Fanny Pack/Bear Gut Sissy-squatter."  Every gym has one.  Gut hanging over the belt...405 on the rack...goes down about 6 inches.  Racks weight.  Looks around to see who's watching.  Bodyfat of about 25 percent, IQ of about 60, teeth count under 20...these guys never cease to crack me up.  I wonder at what point someone determined that wearing workboots to the gym makes you "hardcore to the core", along with fanny-packs?  I love the jealousy I receive from guys like this.  It's always amusing.

I hope to join in the gossip and trash talk here.  I was reading a thread on here the other day for future jobs for Kamali and thought to myself, "Hell, the hair is going...the skin is starting to sag...the extra weight is coming.  Is there going to be another Star Wars movie filmed any time soon?  He's perfect for another bar scene."  Maybe they could have barbara dancing on a pole in the movie.  They'll both be single by then more than likely.  I'm sure it won't bother him too much.

Big Poppa J, is he truly that "great" or is bodybuilding now a sport where the person with the best pharmacist is going to trump all?

No way!!! Give me a link.  You sure you're not confusing this with a movie starring a guy called S-C-H-W-A-R-Z-E-G-G-E-R???

I'm sure the link is still out there.  It made world-wide news.

Here's Kamali in 10 years (if he's still alive after all the drug-abuse)....slaving away talking trash on the net like always...

get with it - if being the biggest drug addict in bb made you king, Kovacs, Polumbo, and Kamali would be top 3 at the Olympia.

You're cynical perspective limits your understanding of Ronnie's superiority. Look at the physique. 280-300 lbs, 3% bf, 24 inch arms, 40+ inch quads, casm-like separation, granite-like density, striations abound. Ronnie Coleman is the world's best bodybuilder and we're fortunate to see him still compete.

Did you ever think Kamail has a column because it was part of the deal that MuscleTech had with Musclemag in exchange for advertising pages?

BTW...Don't think Kamali is getting paid for all his endorsements. I know for one of them he approached the owner and offered his name, face and likeness so he can look like he has an endorsement. Question is, how many of those type of endorsements does Kamali really have.

The only reason why I'm bringing this up is because he always braggs about the endorsements he has and the money he is making. ..which I know for some he doesn't even get paid. A Hummer and an E350 does not justify someone making money..LOL

I would not be bragging about a $850.00 car payment each month unless I paid for the car cash.

How many people really read the column?  If the article appears once per month, how much could they possible pay him for that $500.00?  Big deal.

Many pros get the endorsements just so they can get free supplements.  They don't get paid, but get tons of powders, etc.

Truth is always a defense to a defamation lawsuit.  Additionally, there is a very high standard to win those types of cases which Kamali will never meet, despite what his lawyer tells him.  Kamali would be a real sucker to drop a retainer to the lawyer to commence a case like this.  If anything, in discovery he would be required to divulge a lot of personal issues and facts that he really wants no part of.

Only foolish people threaten lawsuits.  Lawsuits usually do more harm than good when pursued by public figures.  Its not like Kamali has Metallica like money to wage a war against the buck tooth jack asses as he likes to call them.  If anything, the person he sues should countersue for threats and filing frivolous litigation.

If I were Kamali, I would get a new lawyer because the one he has seems to be setting him up to pay a fat retainer to commence a case that will go nowhere and cost a fortune to pursue.  He should just STFU and train and diet and get his body back to a normal condition.

You better watch out, the sheriff is coming to your house with a Summons & Complaint.  I actually listend to the interview where talked about the "lawsuit."  He really is being lied to by his lawyer.  First, you have to sue the defendant where the defendant resides.  Unless Kamali's lawyer lives or is licensed to practice law in Florida he would have to hire another lawyer to actually pursue the case.  That will cost more $$$$.

Second, Kamali said his lawyer told him criminal charges could be filed.  Wrong.  Defamantion and libel are resolved in civil court, not criminal court.  Again, he has a really ignorant lawyer to be threatening lawsuits that have no merit whatsoever.  The only criminal case he could have would be if he was stalked at his house or where he lives.  To my knowledge, that did not occur.  In fact, I understand that he made threats to "bitch slap people" himself.  If anything, he should worry about charges himself.

I have not been around here for too long, what is "gay for pay"?

As far as the hair thing, if its heriditary, there is nothing you can do about it, but if its drug induced, that must suck!

Even still, what a ripp off.  Think about it, if Kamali took the money and invested it in an index fund, after 20 years he would have a crap load of cash.

What does he get now for this "advice"?  Scorn, laughter, ridicule, caricatures, jokes etc.

If he paid 20k for "advice" how much did it cost for:

1.  Tanning
2.  Food
3.  Gear
4.  Posing Suits
5.  Travel
6.  Misc.

???????????

What a waste of money.

Even still, what a ripp off.  Think about it, if Kamali took the money and invested it in an index fund, after 20 years he would have a crap load of cash.

What does he get now for this "advice"?  Scorn, laughter, ridicule, caricatures, jokes etc.

Nothing against McNeil. Maybe that was his asking price. The fool is Kamali being delusional thinking he could capitalize on that "investment".

As part of getting a "Pro Card",they should give a lesson tothese guys in basic economics.  Lets say he spent 50K total fir everything soup to nuts this year - you have to ask?

1.  Is the money better used opening a business or in an investment?
2.  Is there any real chance in placing in a show that at least would cover all the expenses?
3.  Do any of the costs get covered by the sponsor?

Something to think about.

It just seems really idiotic to me.  When you think about a guy approaching his mid thirties with very little prospects for making real money long term, one really must questions the sanity of some of these guys.

Correction: The fatass thought that he would mouth his way to the titles spite of obvious genetic defaults. Once he realized that it wasn't happening then he "loaded" up. which was the icing on the cake...good bye Tamali.

very depressing book  how is it relevant though?

Willy Loman went through life with this warped sense of reality that was only "real" to him, while reality was that he was a loser.  He lived in an alternate universe that had no connection with the real world.

Kamali really believed he was going to be Mr. Olympia and going to light the world on fire etc etc.  Read that 2000 interview.  Geez.  By believing his nonsense, he convinced himself that he was better than Shawn and better than the other pro's.  As it did not happen, he resorted to dangerous drugs and other things that made a mockery of himself to the point where people here post silly pictures of him, etc.  Heck he can't go on any website, other than his own, where he is not laughed at.
