you should be doing a little cardio for your heart anyway, regardless of gear or not.

youll be fine, 20 minutes, 5 days a week is ok

30 min of cardio is good enough 3 times a week. 5 days a week of cardio is to much....

A little cardio is always a good idea. How much depends on what you're trying to achieve.

You will be fine, I do cardio at least 5x wk usually 6x when I'm bulking. It helps to keep me from getting too fat, which is a good thing.

I cycle with my girlfriend three times a week for an hour and a half at a time. It doesn't affect my gains at all, it keeps the fat off and it makes me feel nice and fit. [but sometimes the calf pumps are horrendous]

I would say it depends on your goals and body type.  I sometimes see these skinny guys doing cardio, when they should be home eating.  It is hard to deny the benefits it provides for your heart.  I find running way too anaerobic, at least for me LOL.

I like the elliptical or the tread mill from time to time.  Sometimes I will just do long walks in the woods with my dog, good for the both of us.

I personally hit the stair climber for my cardio. But if I've been eating way too much and need a jump start, I will run outside, not on a treadmill, until I start to feel about where I should, then i go back to the stair climber.
I hate cardio!! But it is a MUST.

The only time you should be doing cardio as a BB is first thing in the morning on an empty stomach or after a weightlifting session.

Any other time is just wasting calories which could be building muscle.  The point is to do cardio during the time your glycogen levels ar low, so that the body resorts to fat for fuel not carbs.

It's almost like this:

Too burn the same amount of fat, this is what you would have to do:

Empty stomach in morning-20 min
after workout-30 min
middle of day between meals or at night-1 hour

And imagine if you watch ur carbs after like 6pm......by time you wake up you will be completely depleted.  Wake up, slam ur nubain and hit the treadmill for 45 min.  Do that 5 times a week and you will drop BF at an incredible rate.

So how many hours to deplete your carbs? 6-8?

Making it too complicated here.  I like to do my aerobics after I weight train, do agree here.  As much as I love the gym there is no way I'm going in there 2 times a day!  Depleting carbs before you do aerobics? You body likes to burn sugar first, then muscle or protein and lastly fat.  Its the intensity of your aerobics that determines the fuel your body will use.

Just do your aerobics when you can!  Its not that hard.  Would not recommend doing it on a full stomach though, give yourself an hour or so.  A nice post(hour) dinner walk is a good way to keep the metabolism humming along in the evening.

Tired of everyone (myself included) calling it cardio, as cardio training is usually anaerobic.  Cardio training requires higher heart rates to push the heart to be stronger.  My guess is you guys are trying to burn fat, that is aerobic training.  I know its easier to type cardio  ;)

not really....O is on the spot.

If you are training for a competition, cardio in the morning pre breakfast.....and cardio post dinner (no carb meal around 6 or 7pm) is essential.

If you think going to the gym 2-3 times a day is too much....youre in the wrong business of competing.

now if youre just a guy/ girl that just trains to look/ feel good?...then it doesnt really apply all that much

Yeah the guys a genius, lol.  ::)

Take my word on it.....it really does not matter much.  calories in, calories out thats what really matters in loosing fat, its real simple.  But if you wanna believe its some magic voodoo behind it go ahead, hit the gym 3 times a day after all its your "business".

Up kinda late aren't we O........hummm?

Sarcasm is best left to those who will get it I guess.....

And everyone take Luv2hurt's word about the cardio, he may know much more than me on the subject.  I just know what worked for ME, and that's all I can intelligently and acurately pass on.

Luv2hurt, you don't need to go to the gym 3 times a day.  I went once.  My cardio in the morning was just walking around the neighborhood for 30-40 minutes, and I lost 20 lbs in four weeks.

And how late I stay up isn't any of ur business.  But I will tell you anyway.  I think you are making an assumption of some type of substance use with the "hmmmmmm" at the end of your comment.  What state/country do you live in?  Do you know where I live?  As if you have any authority to tell me how late I can stay up.

The truth of the matter is that I get off of work at 2:00 am.  By the time I get home and settled in it's about 3;00am.  So I guess that's about right then.  I am sorry Wes pissed you off by taking my side.  Please don't take it out on me.  I'm not one to delete posts as a Mod, but what time I go to bed has nothing to do with cardio, aerobics, or any such related fields.

Yeah the up kinda late comment was out of line, I formaly retract that statement.  I guess your casual statement about bane was what threw me, but Im sure that was just sarcassm too on your part.

I really think you are pretty smart, just trying to get some decent debate going on this thing, its pretty dead in that respect.  But my comment was out of line and for that I apologize.

it really depends on the person- I think everybody should do some cardio just to keep there heart healthy- i personally stopped doing cardio mainly because it was limiting my weight gain- its hard to put on pounds doing alot of cardio- if your diet and training is on point- no need for cardio- just look at IFBB pro david henry- he has some of the best conditioning and shreds and he does not do any cardio- but i would say do it just for your heart and other organs- i personally like doing it in the morning on empty stomach myself- when i do cardio wich is rare these days- Ill ride the stationary bikes after training legs but thats about it- im still burnt out from those marathons I used to run-lol

Accepted.  Of course the Bain comment was in a joking matter, I would never condone narcotic use.  I just want to keep a good relationship with everyone here.  I know being an "internet mod" means shit, but this board has always had good integrity, unlike the others.  I believe we will get more done by not bickering.

I think cardio is great.  People think you will shrink when you do it, it is not true.  If anything, cardio increased my metabolism significantly and I grew because I was eating more.

Case in point: I am now a triathlete and I have been doing nothing but cycling, running, and swimming.  I havent touched gear in two years.  I haven't touched a weight in eight months.  My weight?  Still 224....It's like I can't lose it man.  I am doing about an hour worth of cardio a day.  And when I bike, it's about 30 miles every session at 20-25 mph, which is hauling ass.  Diet is really the key to lose weight, but cardio is what keeps you healthy.

And Luv2hurt:  I know it's 2:27 am alright!!   >:(

LOL yeah you must be out west, cause it was 4:27am here when you posted.  Agree the bickering is not the way this board should be.  For a while there it was out of control about 3 months ago and the board sucked.  Now it has gotten much better and that is due to everyone doing the right thing.  I have gone on other boards just to check them out and lots are a joke, full of smart asses.

And I know I was not helping by being a baby  :-[  Am glad to see you post here O your insight is appreciated.

One thing that I hate to see though, is this.....people taking advise cart blanch from experienced people on a site, like vets and mods.  If someone wants to learn they must question their teachers.  Do your own research, use your own logic, sift through the info and come up with what makes the most sense to you.  This way we can all get smarter and move forward.  We all need to be thinking, not following.  Probally my difficulty accepting authority that makes me this way  :D

I did not know people were still taking nubain.
I never see it sold anymore.
About 6 years ago, everyone sold it.
That stuff got me hooked on pain killers, and I am still fighting it to this day.
I wish I never would have touched that stuff!
It just lead to stronger and stronger pain killers.

I was on Oxy's for 3 years from a car accident.  I kicked them....I can tell you how I did it if you want.  It was hard but if you do it right it's possible.  PM me I will tell you how to taper.  Or I will post it so anyone who is hooked can read and help themselves.
